Yoga involves a lot of body weight strength training. I always look and feel better when I do it often. But sometimes life gets in the way and I stop. But I always return to it. I'm down again and I do it about 3x a week currently. I do one body flex class. Recently I have been getting comments from people who haven't seen me for a while "You are looking thin, what are you doing?"
I started doing yoga when I was 18, I am now 67, the only times I have been over weight is when I didn't do it. I think I am finally learning my lesson. Lots of people think it is only for the young, but hatha yoga is good for everyone. As you age you may not be able to do all you did in your teens/20s, but you can do a lot for your body if you just keep at it you'll gain more flexiblity, better balance, and gain muscle, etc.6 -

Newbie here. 5'2, 30yrs.
Started at my highest in April.
SW 149.3
CW 125.6
GW 105-110
I've switched to a low carb diet, do yoga, walk at least 10.000 steps daily, run 3mi 2-3x a week and do some arm and chest exercises with weights at home. Goal for this year is to run 10K in under 70min.10 -
I am 5'3". I started at 140.3lbs and I am now at 122.5 lbs. I still have 7.5 lbs to lose to reach my goal of 115 lbs. Calorie restriction and walking two hours at a time three to five days a week has done it for me. I have been eating 1000 calories a day for 104 days. I think I will watch my calories for the rest of my life!8

Hi!! I started MFP in late September of 2014...I started out at the heaviest I've ever been for my 5'1 frame which was 135 and have lost almost 35 lbs! Last time I weighed myself a week or so ago I weighed in at 101.2. I started the first few months by low carb diet and no exercise which dropped the first 15 lbs no problem! Then, after the New Year I wanted to start working out so I had to incorporate carbs back into my diet so I just switched to a low calorie diet of 1200-1400 calories a day along with stairmaster and strength training. I could've lost this weight a lot faster if I hadn't had so many relaxed cheat meals and days but I'm glad that it came off at a slower pace rather than too much at a time! I then started running in March and became addicted to it! I'm training for my first half marathon right now So that definately has helped with the weight loss as well. Now, it's a great way to eat extra calories every day! And it makes me feel great! This really has become a complete lifestyle change and I feel so much better ever day. Good luck!! The pics are all out of order but the picture of me in the yellow tank is at my heaviest at 135 or so.
You look totally great!1 -

Great progress. Big differences already.3 -
Not a huge success yet by any means but progress nonetheless. Currently stuck at 133lbs, but going to work my butt off to get to my GW.

5'2", and I've lost about 12lbs since I started tracking regularly about 4 months ago, although I've been slacking lately. Last summer I was close to 250, but discovered I had a medical issue and with medication, healthier eating and getting active again I lost about 20lbs. So, since late last summer I've lost 32lbs, and know if I keep up tracking I'll continue to do better and better. Still have about 100lbs to lose, but I'm proud of what I've been able accomplish so far.
Thanks for your stories ladies12 -

You are a success. You have gone from obese levels to almost mid range in the normal area. That is a huge success. Don't discount all your hard work because you choose to go a little lower.
Wishing you continued success on your Journey.11 -

Thank you! Well done on your progress so far. I was 181 last April, dieted for a couple of months (not using MFP) and was about 173 in August which is when I started using this app properly and logging everything, and am currently 129. I stick to 1200 calories but always eat at least half if not all of my exercise calories. And I've gone over my calories by a lot occasionally and gone of the wagon for a week or so here and there but have never given up Roughly 10lbs to go!

I'm 5ft3. I started after having my second daughter and I was 178 lbs in February. I'm now at 162. MFP projects me to be at 142 in 5 weeks from today if I keep working as hard as I am and sticking to under my calorie limit.3
