I confess. I'm scared to try dead lifting. I had a bad back injury and I'm afraid I'm going to screw it up and re-injure my back doing DL's.
Not gonna do it.0 -

I have organized many events in the past several years but this one has been the most stressful and exhausting. It is literally life or death for a teenage girl that is dear to me. I am too emotionally involved and stressed over making sure it is perfect to raise the money she needs to get her new lungs. To top it off, her 10 year old brother who is also dear to me, tried hanging himself over the weekend. Not because he wants to die but he wants to give his lungs to his older sister. Luckily he did not succeed and he rushed immediately to their family counselor and it was explained to him that even if he did die, it doesn't mean his sister would get his lungs. It is so heart breaking to watch. I can't imagine this being my actual kids. I would be a mess. I am already a mess just being a good friend to their mom.
thoughts are with you and that family, that's rough. you're doing a great thing.2 -
I can't remember the last time I worked out........and I feel really down about it. I don't know when I will start either. I'm just so tired and exhausted with my life right now.
This is a vicious cycle. When you feel like crap you don't want to work out, but then you feel even worse for not working out and that is when some people start to give up and eat more junk, Exercise is an amazing way to lift your spirits. Unless I was sick or very injured I have NEVER regretted going to the gym. It always makes me feel so much better, especially when I really kick my own butt and push myself. Just go. You will be happy you did. And good luck
not to be a contrarian but sometimes, and this happened to me recently, you just can't.. You are doing everything you can to just survive life that you have to let something fall by the wayside. I described it as living in a fog and eventually the fog lifts and life begins again but while that fog is there it takes every ounce of energy to just get through your days.
Yes exercise is great for the endorphins and while foggy you know this and know that it would help immensely but man life has a way of really sucking sometimes.
I hear what you are saying and I felt like crap last night and skipped the gym today. Sometimes it is best for your mental and physical health to rest. One day or a couple days may be necessary. Weeks or months usually isn't.
I am up just after 4am every day to make the time for it through more other *kitten* than you can possibly imagine. I make the time because I NEED it. My body and brain need this. Not everyone is in my situation, but trust me on this. Me going to the gym is best for me and everyone around me.
I don't think you understand what I said though. Sometimes it is weeks or months that you need to take because you are just completely mentally and physically exhausted dealing with what is going on in your life. From October to December I had to put my needs behind others because they needed me more. It was physically and mentally exhausting and while I'd have loved to take some me time I couldn't. I NEEDed a release, my brain NEEDed a break but my family needed me more and you know what I'm glad that I gave them every ounce of my being because now I have absolutely no regrets and there's always today and tomorrow to get back at it.0 -

OMG how heartbreaking. You're doing a really good thing that the family and universe will appreciate. You can rest when it's done1 -

You're awesome. It doesn't sound bad you want it to be over. You're human and I'm sure it's all taking it's toll on you. I'm so sorry for this family. It's really sad.2 -
