    what joke? where?

It was deleted by a moderator.

The forum is still as bitchy and backstabbing as it was a few years ago, the reason it hasn't changed is the same people are still here, the same tired old bajjilion post or 10x new account peeps that make it horrible for anyone that isnt in their little groups (but they turn on those folks too eventually)

some are sneaky flaggers that hide. (those are the same people on your FL's btw, dont think they arent  )
    some are pm sharer's.
some are folks that insult others on their wall's because they're cowards.
some are decent, friendly and fun.
some know mfp is not a real "community" that it's just some time-wasting fun to be had.
    some don't.

I'll still use and abuse the forum for FWB that it is. Just wanted give some of the new folk a glimpse of the real mfp "community"

Well aint you just a little ray of sunshine lol

    Little ray of realism. ;)

Lol..true true ....so was the joke the same reason you got jailed? ..

I didn't flag you, in fact I've never reported anyone.

But...I don't believe you are stupid, not for one second and I think you know the "joke" was pretty poor taste.

It was close to the bone but that's the best thing about humour. Imo making fun or light of things like that normalises it and reduces the impact it'd supposed to have. Nothing is above humour.

Ummm....based on how being jailed has moved you to use it as a platform to inform the masses, maybe you might be taking it a bit too seriously as well?.....just a thought ;)

Not at all. I know what things I consider worthwhile piping up about. Bitchy and backstabbers should be called out anywhere they're found as the ruin the overall fun for everyone else.

someone that takes loads of selfies is fine, someone who takes selfies with cleavage on show is fine, someone who does crossfit is fine, someone who flirts lots is fine, someone who makes rude jokes is fine.

the little cliques aren't, the hidden judgemental and insulting comments aren't, the sharing of pm's aren't, the general ill feeling these types try to cultivate towards people they don't like is yes...you guessed it. Not fine.

This can't be hard concept to grasp, a place/community can be lighthearted and not taken seriously but serious things can still happen there. Think "playground is fun yet a bully can be there"

Interesting, thanks for the insight. People have made reference to shady members and some of their actions to me, I have yet to witness any of that going on, but am fairly new I guess.

I confess it's frustrating hearing about the "clique" stuff. I have friends here, am I in a clique? I see groups of people who don't interact with me...am I left out of the clique? Am I spelling it correctly?

I pondered this too..I think I might be a clique of one :(

What points? I've never heard of points...which makes me want to confess I did not read all the rules either.

    wait.

you didn't read all of the rules?

...... so I guess you missed that forum requirement of trading underwear thru the mail too, huh?

    ........ check your mailbox :p

I mean I get the PM sharing thing is way out of line and sneaky flaggers and stuff @MrStabbems mentioned and I agree. But the "clique" thing comes up a lot and every time I can't tell if I'm in it or on the outside of it

Lol....maybe someone should list the cliques ..I think this was spoken of somewhere else ...are there names for these cliques..badges? Special jackets? ..

I never considered cliques as an adult thing...I thought it was a high school mean girl kinda thing.

I agree. Even though are there some mean jealous people here, I don't consider them part of clique, they are just mean and jealous. People will make friends, friends will go into groups. It's part of life. Those groups may or may not find other ways of communicating besides on the boards where everyone can see their raw personal lives. If a group of people were to become friends at the gym, would you expect that they only communicate at the gym?(when I say "you" I mean in general, not you personally lol)

Aw well thanks!! My mom decided to show up and hang out, all while I'm trying to work. She likes to take over my tv and I wanted to listed to music. Needless to say she wasn't happy when I pulled the "when you pay my mortgage you can watch whatever you want" card.

I admit I've used that word here, but that is when I try to be nice and join conversations and get completely ignored. So I've said this place can feel kind of "clique-ish."

Problem here is that everyone is offended by something different. You don't like cliques. Someone else doesn't like cleavage, someone else doesn't like flirters, someone else doesn't like jokes, rude or otherwise.

Personal info sharing shouldn't be considered "fine" by anyone, but the other stuff you say is fine may not be fine with someone else. We are all entitled to our own opinions. In America we have Freedom of Speech. I don't have to LIKE what you say, but it doesn't mean you don't have the RIGHT to say it. I then have the freedom to ignore you if I want. MFP people can ignore people in the forums if they choose to do so, I have used that option.
I think there are few people here who try to hurt other people and more people here who try to find offense in everything being said. My sarcasm is very often mistaken by people who don't bother to get to know me. I can't make everyone happy. I have tried for too long and made myself miserable doing so. So take me or leave me. the ignore option is here for anyone and everyone to use.

    You're right.

I should clarify that the cliques in question are often used as a vehicle to collectively bully. A freaking hive mind lol

a prime example is the Emma cot (whatever) threads. a few wtf's an odd disagreement, a debate...yeah that's all part and parcel of a community.

but what's been happening in there is plain bullying. She might be legit, she might not. But that *kitten* just isn't right.

    Too many beers.
Too much porn and 'alone' time.
    Too little done this weekend.
I confess, I need to work on the balance of things.

I am accepting applications for my clique. Must pay me monthly in brownies. Also must be willing to tell me that I need to get my act together and get my workouts done. And not let me eat the monthly brownie payment. Also must tell me I'm stunning and have nice eyes. And quote me a bunch of times. Not because you are my friends and like to interact with me, but because it is required for you to do so in the clique contract. Butt pictures on Wednesday is also required. Drawings shall be considered as a suitable replacement on a case by case basis. And most important of all you must now how to read and write. (Anyone wanting to do my homework for me may or may not.....mostly not....get a bonus).
You're stunning & you have lovely eyes, do the brownie payments need to be made with or without nuts? LOL
