Probably because of that lack of guidance I was a 8th grader and she was a freshman in high school when I lost my virginity. But hey...I was careful. No diseases. No babies.1 -

My mom at least handed me a book and said "Read this, and if you have any questions come ask me."
Though once I was older my parents were decidedly (and possibly therapy inducing-ly) more open about sex. Including personal stories. *shudder*0 -

I confess I don't think I ever had the talk. I think it was more my brother going to school and telling all the boys my age if you touch my sister you die. Ya i wasn't popular

This reminds me of when I was sitting with my daughter and thought it a good opportunity to answer any questions she might have about sex ..she looked at me horrified when I asked if she had questions and covered her ears and went lalalalala..
..obviously she was the shy one
