I'm a disgusting cigarette smoker. I gross myself out. Hopefully my plan to quit this spring works out.

I quit and I have been wanting to start up again sooooo bad

I haven't smoked in a long time but recently I've been thinking about it all the time. I've been wanting to ask my coworker for one because I don't want to buy a pack.
I don't want to buy a pack because I am ashamed, that's kinda how I quit...I shamed myself

If I knew how I was going to die and it wasn't because of smoking I'd smoke.

Don't do it! It makes us smell terrible

The smell used to bother me too, I'd wrap up my hair and had a "smoking sweater" I'd smoke in. Since quitting tho I like the smell, not on people so much but I linger at mall doorways and try to breath in the second hand smoke.

I've restarted more times than I've had birthdays (that's a lot, btw). I have a box of Nocoderm patches ready to go, but can't seem to get my game face on and my mind right to go through with it.

I confess I can find a silver lining in anything, and while it sounds nice in theory, it makes me feel like a terrible person when I’m able to find a silver lining in something awful like the loss of a loved one. Is this normal? A coping mechanism?

Me too. It doesn't make us terrible; it makes us priceless and irreplaceable. The terrible part comes in knowing when to speak and when people need to wallow in a bit of misery first. Everyone needs a good wallow before they are ready to move on

That sounds like an incredible life-saving skill that I’m envious of

Yeah, I’m usually the “Well, at least..” person at a funeral. :confounded:

It sounds better than it is. I’d give an example but I’d look like a monster :disappointed:

Maybe we could give you examples and you could show us the silver lining while we cry? No? Not a fun weekend activity? Ok

    sheesh, who does?

I reckon, even the people who look like they have everything dialed-in have their own issues.

Perfectly fine. When we lost my younger brother in law to an opiate OD a couple of years ago, it may have been the best lesson my kids have learned about addiction and how anyone can have a problem and you'd never know. There's always a silver lining.

Maybe everyone else is better at the social graces part because it’s so taboo to admit it. Or at least that’s what it feels like. I’m glad other people can relate to this.

We just lost our puppy. She was part German Shepherd and a few times she lunged at my face to bite me. She nipped my son once too. I don’t know how much of it was just general puppiness, but when we lost her I felt a sense of relief that I wouldn’t have to worry about her biting anyone down the road. Meanwhile my kids are completely distraught. I felt horrible.

    IC:
My mind often feels like alphabet soup, but it's usually just random Q's or K's so it doesn't make much sense. Sometimes all the letters are there and it's a free for all word search.

I sometimes question myself on my chronic pain issues and wonder if it is as bad as I think it is or am I just being a suck.

IC Im going to have a works burger and chips for dinner, it's been such a long time. Im eating light all day to fit it though. My actual confession is I will waste more than half. I like that I don't eat as much as I used to, but I hate it too because I waste so much food now.

IC that I'm glad to know a group of people who want to use the MFP forums to have a good time

    Within the rules of course

Says the guy in jail

It's not about punishment, it's about rehabilitation.

No, that 150 seconds is pure punishment.

You can log your food here? What thread is that?

I'm pretty sure the only food logged in threads is cake.

Ewww cake isn't even good. If I eat that I never log it because calories from foods you don't like don't count.

And to think I was going to share cake with you.
