I started down the path of eating chips without thinking and then not caring (I've had a hard day, I deserve it!) and then I took a deep breath and stopped. And took another deep breath and really decided to stop. It was so difficult to be mindful of my emotions and not take the easy route and just give in and snack the night away. Thanks to this group for inspiring me!

Food for thought: A friend recently told me that if you think you can do something you will find a way to make it so! If you think you can't then you won't!

I start my battle at the supermarket door.

Supermarkets are not my friend. They wage psychological warfare and ambush me with aisles of junk food. They will not win the war!

    Campaign Plan
    1. Plan a route around the supermarket which avoids the junk food, cakes etc
    2. Make a list and stick to it. Include healthy treats that you like.
    3. Reward yourself with a non-food treat if your campaign is successful.

    You can do this!

Don't let the super marketeers play with your emotions! Show them who is boss!

thanks WalkerPop! i bossed my impulse ;)

WooHoo!! Another streak is launched! Great job!

I like @TerriRichardson112 's idea: Give yourself permission. Even if, like Terri, you choose not to use it, there's something psychological about knowing you can. It's not as overwhelming as "never ever ever again..." Do it on purpose, not on impulse, and you stay in charge!

I agree. If you think you can never have a late night treat again, you will cave in. Do what works for you :)

I've heard this before, but was just reminded of a quote that fits our discussion of doing things on purpose rather than impulse.

"Children do what feels good. Adults make a plan and follow it." - Dave Ramsey (and others)

    How are you adulting today?

Sad to say theses last couple of weeks hasn't been good! I've had a few good days but boom it catches up with me! I've seen a couple have made weekly goals so I'm thinking that might help. I'm so so sorry I'm having problems being consistent with my diet! So let's try this again!!!!!

EVERYONE is doing a fablous job coming back night after night good or bad!!!!

I do make lots of plans and follow through (mostly), but many of them do "feel good", and the reason to follow through is to feel good. So... is that childish behavior disguised as adult habits?

Are you adulting or impulsing today? Great goals aren't achieved on an impulse or a whim! https://t.co/G6VHIEbCjQ

Didn't snack last night. Did have dessert since it was on my meal plan but should have skipped it as I was already really full.
