I've never seen a persons daily meal include junk food.

What's junk food.
I generally have pizza once a week, subway twice a week. Sushi once if that counts.
I normally have some chips or lollies for a bit of an after dinner snack. 100-200calories I think.

My entire diary would be considered junk food by some as I'm on Diet Chef for a couple of months.0
-
Mine sure does! Feel free to check it out. Plenty of cookies, chocolate and even McDonalds.0

I have a kfc/mcdonalds/chinese post workout which is 6 days a week but only when i'm trying to add weight not when dieting 5800kcal yesterday today is rest day so i wont eat junk and kcals will be lower0

I include it when I have it. If you look at my food diary now though in comparison to when I started on this site I tend to have it a lot less.
I'm here about 2 months and like that couldn't stand the idea of cutting out what I liked. However when I started to learn about what foods contain what calories I've been making better decisions and therefore less junk.0 -
I love junk food. I look at a lot of open diaries and people do it. Those are the people I friend. lol If I don't eat what I like the I end up over eating I bunch of stuff that I did not want and feel terrible afterwards. As long as it fits within your daily calories Enjoy what you like.0

I don't find labels like "junk", "good/bad", "clean" to be particularly helpful when referring to my diet. I eat some of the foods I enjoy every day, this includes pizza, wine, ice cream, fast food. I just don't have all of them every single day. Except wine.
I think what you might also be missing OP is that when people say they eat these foods all the time, they mean in moderation, and in context of a primarily nutrient dense diet. Rarely do you find a person who eats a diet of all "junk", as often as that straw man argument of "sure you can eat nothing but Doritos and lose weight" comes up...
Oh and anecdotally I lost my 30 lbs eating the foods I like, in moderation, and am currently maintaining within my goal weight range. I think my diary is open.0 -

Hi, i too eat junk. I think the reason a lot of people have been successful in their weightloss is because they are honest and log everything they eat. I do like the occasional treat, and some weeks, i have more than others. I buy stuff in quantity control. For instance if i want chocolate, i buy small packages ( like you get for halloween) and i put it in a container in the fridge. When i want some, it is portioned controlled , so i can have two boxes of smarties for 90 calories or two small chocolate bars for 120. I suck on it and eat it slowly, and get it out of my system, log it and move on. The biggest trick i think, is to not go back for more. Thats something that has to be under control before you can have it in the house. But ya, i eat it, and i log it. Hamburgers, pizza, chocolate, icecream, just in moderation!!! Ive lost 81 pounds, so i know it can be done! Good luck!0

I logged a Dairy Queen butterscotch sundae yesterday. The day before that, I logged red wine. I make room for all foods that I want or like.0

I haven't changed the types of food I eat at all, only the quantities. This week alone I've had lots of what some would consider 'junk' - danish pastries, peanut cookies, jaffa cake bars - and I've been losing steadily for four months. I also eat pizza, curry, chinese takeaway....if I can plan for it, I'll eat it. I also really like salad and veggies etc. I tend to pre-log what I expect to eat during the day and then tweak it as I go along if I need to - keeps me aware. If I wake up thinking that I NEED coffee and danish for breakfast, I can usually work around it.0

i have ice cream nearly every night. and it gets logged. and chocolate at work. and donuts for breakfast.0

Chips, cookies, etc. are not available with my own calorie goals, but of course, once in awhile, I've indulged. I also don't lose weight that way.
I just can't afford those dead calories on this diet. I don't have that wiggle room that some people have. Every bite needs to be really decent food to lose weight in my own case.
I remind myself that I have only " " lbs to go till I hit my goal. On maintenance, I'm sure I'll be able to work some treats back into life. That usually does the trick.0 -
This is pretty typical, except I ran out of ice cream and had to substitute.

I have some junk most days! Yesterday I had one Oreo, an ice cream cone and a croissant (I ate at maintenance though). The day before was a toaster streudel and a caramel pudding.. still kept a deficit. Usually I try to limit it to 200-300 calories a day though or I get too hungry.
I've lost 80 pounds and have maintained that loss for more than a year.0 -
My "favorite & frequent" fast food meals are preset under "meals". That way I don't get ribbed by my real life friends I ate a half a bag of Doritos one night for dinner...lol...and one of my MFP friends commented that she liked my dinner choice ........it happens0

When I eat junk food I log it unless it is a day of grazing on junk food, like parties with all the dips, appetizers and desserts. That is usually when you see nothing for dinner. I know I am way over, the thought of trying to log all the different delicious food is overwhelming, so I skip it and start logging the next day.0
-
I had pretzels and peanut butter last night and it's logged. My wife and I split a Mrs. Prindable's Triple Chocolate Caramel Apple last week and it went on the diary. I don't know that I eat kink every day, but I don't really do anything to avoid it. If I eat it, it tends to go in the diary. Except weekends. On weekends, I practice eating around maintenance without logging.
ETA: If you go back a week or so in my diary, you'll see how I worked a Wendy's Spicy Chicken Sandwich into my calorie and macro goals.
EATA: I missed your question about working kink (and really, that's what I'm using now for calorie-dense, nutritionally-sparse food from now on) into your diet without triggering a binge. Sorry about that.
I find that the key is preparation, both in the planning and actual food prep. I try to plan my weekly menu and pre-log daily. I leave wiggle room so I can switch out snacks on the fly. When prepping my food, especially if it's kink, I make sure to fully prepare it and "plate" what I'm going to eat, putting everything away before I eat.0 -
Yup. I'm having pizza for lunch today. I don't eat "junk" that often, because it's super difficult for me to fit it within my macro targets (and because I'm a volume eater and can't eat that much "junk" for the calories).0

I become grumpy, and just kinda depressed in a way, because junk food makes me feel good, if only for a little while. I would just love to know that I'm not the only one that thinks like this. I cannot manage, however, to just eat junk in moderation, without totally binge eating on the stuff. Do any of you have a way to incorporate sweets into your diet, without ending up on a binge? What's your secret, so to speak?
On days when I've been especially "good" I'll have a Dark Cocolate Klondike Bar. 240 calories of reward. Gotta make sure your budget has room for the 240 though ;-)0 -

I had chips yesterday. Most people mean that they have it sometimes, not daily. And usually as a snack, not as part of the meal. I intend to have a cookie later today also.
There have definitely been days where I binge on it, and then regret it later. I'm working on having no regrets now... i.e. moderation. I find joining challenges with people on these forums is a nice motivation! Maybe keep you eyes out for one It's a great way to connect to people plus it gives a purpose to trying a little harder. Interesting that I still find it easier to work hard for other people than I do for myself..0 -
I have a little something that some would consider "junk" almost every day. It's not in my diary because I'm not logging at the moment. If I was, it would be there.0

Well, I try to follow the iifym rule. I don't go by calories so much as I do macros. They are what really matter to working on your physique. Sounds like you've gotten a good amount of support, which is what this is all about! Good luck and keep working towards your goals in whatever way best suits YOU!0

I include junk food when I eat it. But i try to limit it to occasional and very small portions, like I'll eat a donut at work once a week with coffee, but I'll stop myself from earing 3 donuts or 2 muffins like I used to before. I also stopped buying calorie dense foods I used to eat a lot of like cheese, bacon, cake.0

You guys are my people. I have chocolate, or a treat, every day. It gets logged, because I ate it! I just make sure to make it fit. I also LOVE telling people that I've lost over 100 lbs eating chocolate every day... their faces and responses make me giggle inside.0

Unashamed junk food eater here. Today I had cider, cookies and ice cream.. yesterday BEER, cookies and ice cream.. crisps, tortilla chips, I'm an equal opportunity snacker I just make room for it and have one or two. Not 20. Sadly.
My diary's open, so anyone's welcome to look in and see.0
