I also walked 5.43 km in a freaken snow storm...seriously it snowed so much I could barely see and then the sun came out and it stopped. Needless to say the snow is here to stay (hopefully). Of course I have to share pics of the two troublemakers and my partners in crime as well as my new mittens...lmao....kids are all teenagers and I can't buy cute stuff anymore for them so I bought them for me loldfv57m0bxofi.jpeg

@scolaris and @brucehedtke I will look up yaktrax! I live in Canada so yes we get a ton of snow and ice. Although winter is a little late getting here (not necessarily a bad thing) thanks for the info :). Might be a good Christmas present to myself!

OMG I tripped on a gym mat chasing a little miscreant who was wilding thru my special ed class today & strained my ankle. And there was a pupil with projectile vomiting. My vacation feels imperiled.

Lol @scolaris I know how you feel although I'm not going on vacation...my middle child sneezed in my face yesterday (I felt the spray) and he's sick today....it is going to happen I know it as well. Ice your ankle and Advil and you should be good as new! Hand sanitizer is in order when you work with kids!

Oh yes. You should see me. I glove up for everything I have to touch, scrub to the elbows like a nurse, and slather on the hand sanitizer between washes. And mostly it works. But that's with school kids. My own children get me every time with their germs. ;-)

Very windy and pretty cold out today but I was still able to knock out 6.5 miles. I think this weekend would be a good time to go out and find myself a good pair of mittens.

Yes, all of you battling the elements need to gear up! We don't have 'elements' here in NoCali anymore... but they say 'El Nino is coming' so maybe that will change.
I walked 8700 steps even according to fitbit, 3.7 miles. Which means 2 days in a row under my 10k step minimum. The horror! I probably won't get to 100k steps this week either. Disappointing.
But I'm much better. I think last nights troubles had to do with a little flare up caused by stress not germs. And the ankle is much better after icing it, elevating it, & taking two grape flavored children's chewable Motrin because that's all I could find in our bathroom cabinet. I had a bowl of piping hot pho at my neighbor's along with wine & chocolate; all of it felt 'medicinal.' And tomorrow I'm off work, so yay!!! I think the vaca is gonna be FINE...
    Happy walking friends.

17556 steps, 7.6 miles. Woot woot! Back to NORMAL!!
Also: icing the whole ankle with a wrap around ice pack meant I was icing the lower Achilles as well, which in turn really helped the plantars. Whodda thunk???
