Yesterday I walked 17891 steps, 7.7 miles. Took a walk with the high school severely disabled class where I subbed, pushing a wheelchair for that portion, and two loops through my neighborhood, both with & without dogs. In addition to the walking I did Zumba but I don't count steps for that. Found this amusing, written in chalk along the way... Have a wonderful Veterans Day! xo

I carry my pedometer in my pocket all day including when I am at my line dance class....it is interesting that many of the steps in line dance don't register on my pedometer so even though I am moving and picking up my feet, I get fewer steps for line dancing the same amount of time than it would if I were walking. I carry my pedometer all the time because it motivates me to walk more when I might be inclined to sit.

That's so interesting Barbie! I switch over to added exercise mode, but those calorie burns always strike me as too high. I use my phone as a pedometer so I set it down for class. When I go dancing at a bar or club I do count those steps because I carry my phone in my pocket then. And you're right, only some steps register.

Pedometers work based on vibration from what I can tell. If you are moving along in your walk it counts. When you are slow, like grocery shopping, browsing, it stops. Dancing may not be constant enough for it to monitor. However, never have that thing on when you move the lawn mower...the poor little thing goes haywire counting.
