Egg obsessed

I have a sick obsession with eggs. Is that completely horrible. I want to eat them any time for any meal, snackd etc. ..but how much is really too much. I try not to eat the yolk all the time..

Do you have cholesterol problems?
My cholesterol is great, so I don't worry about it. I eat 2 eggs most days, but some days way more (if we are making a pudding, egg salad, etc).0 -
eggs are healthy.... unless you have a cholesterol problem I do not see a problem eating them! My trainer said I need to eat more of them.0

Plus they are so versatile. Most of the nutrients and calories are in the yolks so cutting them out occasionally is probably a good idea if you eat loads0

My only issue with eggs is the cost. The price seems to have skyrocketed ( at least where I live). There are so many different things you can make with eggs, I say enjoy your eggs as long as you don't get bored with them. Eggs are a decent source of fats and protein.0 -

I buy my eggs from the local gas/convenience store. They had them up to $1.99 since August but just recently came down to $1.59. Their usual price is 99¢0 -

Eggs are a healthy food for most people in moderation. Eating too much of any food can make your overall diet unbalanced and cause possible nutrient deficiencies.0 -
How many are you eating a day? Eggs are a great food choice, so unless you're eating cartons at a time you're probably ok
I get free range chicken eggs from a relative (for free), and my family of five can go through several dozen a week. I ate 5 egg whites plus1 whole egg that had two yolks in it yesterday myself .0 -
I ate 8 of them on Sunday. Usually have at least 3 a day. They are the world's most nutritious food!

I eat at least 2 per day - sometimes up to 5, and I don't consider that a sick obsession. Eggs are a great way for me to hit my macros.0 -

I'd say your egg consumption is perfectly fine. It's a great package of protein goodness. The yolk also contains 245 IU of Vitamin A (8% RDA) and .684 mg (3% RDA) of vitamin E. This is totally anecdotal, but I found if I started my day with an egg my blood sugars would be stable for the rest of the day.0

Things can happen if you only eat one food and it affects eating a variety, but I also eat a lot of eggs because I have chickens.0

Nothing, as far as I can tell. Flavor is going to come from the chicken's diet and the feeding practices for factory produced eggs are grain based, whether organic or not. Free range doesn't mean much in regards to large scale production. The chicken houses are disgusting.
The more flavorful eggs will be from pasture chickens that graze for a varied diet. Bugs, worms, snakes, greens, etc. I think the flavor is richer. The yolks are a vibrant orangey-yellow, which some people find disconcerting. My SIL and her husband raise chickens. They supplement grazing with non-organic feed, but I'd rather have those eggs than anything marked "organic" from the grocery store.0 -

I also eat at least 2 eggs a day. I have my own chickens so it makes it easy to get in a few a day. As long as you are eating a variety of foods throughout your day I wouldn't worry about eating eggs during meals or as snacks. I just had my biometrics done for a work wellness program and my cholesterol is great!0

Mmmm, the best chicken I've ever had was a Poulet Rouge Fermier from Joyce Farms, prepared by an excellent restaurant. I still dream about that dish!
The difference in egg flavor may be subtle, or it may be the color of the yolk influencing my perception! Still rather have pasture eggs because I have a bias toward a varied diet - for people and animals.0 -

The only time I noticed a difference in the taste of fresh vs. store bought eggs was when I ordered some from a restaurant after having had my chickens for about a year. The store bought just didn't have as good a flavor as my fresh eggs had.
We haven't eaten any of our chickens yet... they are still laying eggs and I have an issue with the process that comes before cooking them!!0 -

It is hard the first time you have to "process" a chicken you've raised. I had several drinks. :laugh: But we've been raising meat and egg birds for a while. You get used to it.0 -
I'm the same! I LOVE eggs and would probably eat an average of 2 a day. I had my cholesterol tested last month and its low. So its all good0
