@karridomigan Welcome, check in when you can. We are always here.
joy- I have the same fat suit on. I found a pic of me and the girls when they were little. I have a coat on since it is fall and you can just see how much thinner I am. I put it up at work so I can get my *kitten* together.
@gemwolf110- snow storm a bust here for the most part also and it is melting away today. Spring comes on Monday. I hope it doesn't get lost.
@isotoner- great kid time sounds like you had fun
Rachel-After seeing that pic, you earned everyone of those bruises. My genie would have crashed into the bottle.
Kasey-I agree with you on the measuring thing. I think we should all come with the dotted line that says measure here like in the pictures.
@jdelaroy- Blueberry/Lemon cake sounds yummy. And only one lick, the rate im going I would have had to like the spoon till it was all gone to make sure it tasted ok.
Not much to talk about on my end. Just eating my weight and everyone else's this week. I am definitely a stress eater and it needs to stop. Happy St. Patrick's Day to all. Be safe tonight. Have a nice weekend.

MINES NOT EVEN A WEEK IT HAS BEEN ATLEAST A MONTH LONG. PLEASE GIVE ME STRENGTH TO MAKE IT STOP!!!2 -
Good morning! Here's to a restful but productive weekend! I woke up too early today, which doesn't help with the restful part. Maybe I can work on productive. Hope today is s good one, everyone!!0

Hope everyone's having a good week end. Can't believe it's saturday again. Where did this week go? On my real B day, the 15th, I had Dr appt to get results of my heart test. I was so glad to hear my heart is good, no blockages or hardening. Yesterday I had one of thoes days where I did too much without meaning to. I didn't feel like going to dog park so I took my big guy out with my bike for 40 min then went for 2 walks with the others, so I was out for 1 1/2hrs. I used to be able to walk them all at once, but now 3 of them are older & have arthritis, so I walk 3 longer, faster, then I walk the other 3 shorter & slower. After that I went to volunteer at our rescue. I was asked to clean the puppy rooms, which i'm glad to do but all 4 were full, so it took me almost 2 hrs to clean them all. Of course I stopped & loved on the puppies too. Then after I got home at 4, I made 2 apple pies, one to take to a friends B day dessert pot luck. Today I feel like i've been run over by a truck! I did take dogs out, tho I was so tired. The rest of day I must devote to mowing back yard, sweeping all polen off patio & weed wacking side yard. Hubby usually weed wacks, but he had busy day yesterday too & is starting on new med today to get his heart rate down. He's been having an issue with that & it tires him out.1

Hi everyone! I just saw this group listed on the MFP home page, and would like to join. I have lost about 40 lbs so far with this program. And, I have about 35 more lbs to lose.
I have found working with a personal trainer very helpful. In fact, I would say that it is the best money that I have ever spent on myself. I actually work with 2 different trainers. With Mary, a former competitive swimmer, we work on flexibility and core strength. (Swimming is my thing.) With John, I life heavy weights for full body strength.
Weight lifting can be very motivating. It requires a certain amount of focus and concentration. It also give me something to "push against," a challenge, if you will. Getting stronger physically also gives a big boost to my self-confidence.
Be well!0 -
hey, all! Hope you've had a nice weekend. The hubby & I took a couple days off for our wine tour...Got off to a late start, first because our friends were running behind and then because the husband decided he didn't like the way my car was driving (it doesn't do what he keeps complaining about when it is just me...it doesn't like him) so we had to turn around and go back...putting us behind by another 30 minutes. Sigh. Visited several nice wineries in Missouri wine country and bought less than 2 cases (less than last year...victory! self control in the face of wonderful wine!). Spent the last two days doing very little.
So...now I have a NSV that has nothing to do with weightloss...Before we left, I packed up our laptop...and it said it needed a Microsoft update. Since the update nothing has worked properly...I poked a bunch of things yesterday and thought I fixed it. But no luck! This evening I did some research and learned that the latest update has been installing wrong for a lot of people. So I uninstalled all of them, reinstalled and now we seem to be working just fine! I WIN in the war with machines!
Have a terrific week!0 -
Just checking in. We've got family in town. I'd like to believe I'm doing better. Managed to exercise 3 times last week. And while I'm not going completely nuts with food, it could be a lot better. Been reading a lot on weight loss and now I'm just plain confused. It shouldn't be this hard and complicated. So many types of diet plans out there. Just not sure how to move forward. One step at a time I guess.0
-
@CallaLilyNess - snap, I've had my father in law with us all weekend so it's been a busy one! Honestly, I think the diet plans cause more confusion than they resolve - they all have different pros and cons and I've given up with them. I just try now to eat the meals that I like (95% home made) in moderation and leave it at that. Otherwise it does get too complicated and life is simply too short and too busy!
@melaniedscott - two great NSVs - yes, I count only two cases of wine (or less) an NSV!! Sounds like a lovely weekend.
@Trendline15 and @429jules - welcome!
@evamutt- that's great news on the heart tests, much be such a relief. Great birthday present! Sounds like you have had a busy few days - don't push yourself too hard!!
@gemwolf110 - that sucks about the job and it really annoys me when businesses do that. They can only enforce it because you are moving internally - if you were going to a different business, they would lose you after your contractual notice period and that would be that - they would have to deal with it! Anyway, sorry - I'm just adding to your rant now. Have a lovely week off and make sure you get time to relax and enjoy spending time together.
Jen - I love the sound of a blueberry lemon cake - any chance of a recipe share??
So, it's Monday morning and I'm shattered! We had my father in law with us all weekend and, whilst it's lovely to see him, it's a little bit like having a second child!! I haven't stopped all weekend (on the plus side, it did wonders for my step count ). Trouble is, my husband was constantly trying to make sure he was looked after and the idea of offering to do anything to help is completely out of father in laws thought process. So by 7:30 last night when I was running round making supper, cleaning the kitchen and generally chasing my tail whilst my husband put Alistair to bed, he's sat watching television. Now don't get me wrong - I do not expect him to spring clean, make supper etc etc - but an offer to make me a cup of tea, pour a glass of wine or help load the dishwasher would have put him into hero status at that point! I know I'm whinging but I'm used to family members/friends getting involved when they stay with us and, by 9pm last night I felt like I'd been run over by a bus with work looming large in the morning.
Anyway, enough moaning! It's Monday, I've got my meals logged for the day and I'm hitting the water hard. Will get a good step count in today and I'm working from home tomorrow so going to try and get an early workout in and kick myself into gear. Hope Monday treats you all well

@rachel0778 I am glad you had a good conference.
@ngolden3320 The eating everything in sight seems to be going around. Stay strong you can do it.
@429jules Getting up too early sucks! Hopefully it was productive at least.
@gemwolf110 Being in limbo does suck. Enjoy your week off. Don’t forget some me time!
@evamutt Woo hoo for good heart health. Look at all those dog walks you are getting in. I hope they get husbands meds fixed.
@melaniedscott sounds like you had a wonderful weekend, great restraint on the wine, and awesome patience with your computer. I would have wanted to toss the thing.
@callalilyness Good job with the exercise. The reading can be confusing, there is so much contradicting information out there. Some of the best advice I got was that there are things that work for each person, each person is different. You have to experiment to find what works, listen to your body, and give any change you make 4-6 weeks to start taking affect.
@janetay01 I feel your pain. The Bf’s mom lives with us and does nothing and I mean nothing. She gets up around 10ish, plants herself on the couch, and only gets up to eat, and sometimes go the bathroom. Lately she has been complaining about the way we treat her dog. He is having to spend more time outside, and we haven’t been leaving his food dish down for him all of the time. He is never outside for longer than 30 minutes (He is inside the house, and has complete access to his food for 8 hours a day strait.) Yesterday, she told the BF she thinks I am jealous of her, and her relationship with her son. Not sure where this came from, or why she would think this. I love the fact that my bf wants to have her around as much as possible, and take care of her for as long as he can. I do a lot of things for this woman, and only say something to her, if she is going to hurt herself, or her dog. I am at the point where I try to stay out of the living room as much as possible, until he is home. All she does is give me nasty looks, ignore anything I say to her, and is completely rude. Sorry for the vent. Hopefully, you have a mellow week ahead.
I had a great weekend! My daughter got rave reviews at her IEP meeting in school. Was told how awesome, well mannered, helpful, and tenacious she is. Took her out to dinner in Downtown Denver to celebrate her awesomeness. Did a walk to the park with the kids on Saturday, roller skating on Sunday and stayed under calories all weekend! I am hoping Monday is just as good and productive.
1 -
@ngolden3320 Sorry to hear stress has been getting to you. Is this week looking to be any better?
@jdelaroy Sounds like you had a fantastic, active weekend! That's great news about your daughters IEP meeting, so glad you were able to celebrate her awesomeness as a family!
@janetay01 That is so frustrating. It's always hard having visitors all weekend long, especially ones that are not helpful. I hope you're able to find some time to refresh today
@CallaLilyNess A lot of people make dieting way more complicated than it has to be. Every program really does boil down to calories in and calories out, they just differ in the ways they get that accomplished.
@melaniedscott Glad you had a wonderful long weekend (and a few days to recover after the wineries). And dealing with Microsoft products is a huge NSV. I have zero patience when it comes to that.
Welcome @trendline15! Glad the personal trainer is helping you to meet your goals
Happy Belated Birthday @Evamutt! Doing a heart test on your birthday is one heck of a way to celebrate, glad the results were good. I hope you got some rest in after your crazy day!
@gemwolf110 That is so frustrating that you're not able to move into your new position yet. I'm glad that your current situation is temporary, that would be so stressful!
Welcome @429jules! I hope you had a fabulous, productive day yesterday even though you woke up early!0 -
My weekend was so fantastic, but it went by way too fast.
Friday we met up with friends to celebrate St. Pattys Day. We always have so much fun with them and we're meeting up again next weekend for a game night. Saturday I grocery shopped, picked up my new dumbbells (yay!), got a workout in, and then when to see a great musical with my Mom. The food there was awful, but the show made it worth it.
Sunday I was so lazy I didn't even get off the couch until almost 4pm! But then I kicked it into high gear, did my meal prep for the week, cleaned a bit, did some laundry, and took the dog for a long walk. I wasn't super active this weekend but I feel like it ended up being a good balance and I've got all my activities set up for this week. It felt good to just curl up and read since it was the first weekend I had been home with no visitors in over 5 weeks! I'm looking forward to having a similarly lazy weekend next weekend too0 -
Happy Monday, lovely ladies!!
Jane: Don't even get me starting on my inlaws (my FIL is passed away now). They would never lift a finger at our house when they visited - I would work all day, come home to clean up the kitchen from all their mess, then make a big dinner, and clean everything up after. My MIL would come in when I was just finishing cleaning and say "can I help you with anything" I literally would be wiping the counter. Every time I spend time with her I almost have a stroke - hence why I am sending my hubs to visit her next week for 4 nights by himself! Thank the ever loving lord she lives 1000 kms away from us!!! I'm sure we'd be divorced if we lived anywhere near her!
Oh, and I'm so bad for "yes I need to eat a whole meal again right before bed!" Why is it so hard to stay on the wagon?! I'm literally hanging by a thread getting dragged behind it right now! LOL
Jen - Hot stuff roller skating like a boss!! Good for you! Your cake sounds awesome. even though you are struggle with being on the wagon right now too, you are doing awesome! Keep up the good work. And you are a true gem for having your MIL live with you - as I said I would definitely be divorced if she lived in the same TOWN nevermind in my house! Just would not happen!! LOL
Rachel - nice that you had a fun weekend! St. Patty's day fun and then a relaxing sunday. Nice! I have to give you 10 gold stars for that genie hold - whaaaat in the world!? I would have fallen on my head and an ambulance would have been called! ha!
Nic - cheat meal? Cheat month? I'm pretty much at cheat winter at this point! PFFFFF! Let's get on board and shed these effing fat suits! Hopefully you are going to have a less stressful week. I'm totally a stress eater, but honestly I had such a fun weekend, so i think I'm a happy eater too!
Gem - Sorry that you aren't going to get into your new job yet for another month or 2, that totally sucks! You must work for a large company because the bigger the company, the slower everything moves. How frustrating! Just keep focused on the light at the end of the tunnel. Good for you for training for those races, you are going to kick butt! Enjoy your week off!
Calla - I have read different diet books in the past, and everyone has their own idea on what to do. No wonder the diet industry is worth billions - because people pay for solutions in the hopes that something will work. I don't read the diet books anymore, I have just been trying to find what works best for my body. Some people like the restrictive diets (like no carbs or no sugar etc), but I don't do well with restriction. If I feel stumped I sometimes look into people's food diaries on MFP to get ideas to try different meals. I also know that eating after dinner doesn't work well for me. So just keep trying different things. One of my friends doesn't eat carbs after 3pm... (that would never work for me). I find measuring my food, and eating mostly homemade healthy food works best for me. And exercising at least 30-40 mins per day!
I had a really fun weekend, my friend came to visit with her family and we had a great time catching up. Hadn't seem them since August! Did drink too much wine, and got into the cupcakes! Yikes! Spring is definitely here, we got out our bikes yesterday and went for a bike ride! I LOVE BIKING!!! and I walked the dog a ton, and raked up the lawn for a bit too. We went to see Beauty and the Beast (love Disney!), and had the movie popcorn and wine gums for lunch! OOPS! Obviously my self control is low at the moment! I'm feeling positive, which is surprising considering yesterday I tried on some spring clothes and they were all too tight! So I have to get myself on board here and step up the exercise!0 -

Nicole: Hope Cassidy is back and feeling good. And I also hope the snow has melted for the most part!! Love the memes!
Karri: Welcome… post often!
Joy: Ha! A tub full of cheesy poofs!! I love it!! I feel discouraged wen I look at old photos too!! BUT!! That is all changing! We will love our photos soon! Just keep chugging along!! And not chugging beer/wine! LOL! Love the think mint meme! Wine and cupcakes.. who can say no! I love to bike too… I think it’s time to get it out of the shed and get her ready to hit the road! Love the name tag!!! LMAO!! I am feeling positive too… with spring here… I know I will be way more active! Looking forward to it!
Calla: It’s got to be so hard not seeing each other. My husband and I are texters… we text each other on breaks and whenever we are apart… even though w both work 1st shift. It’s go t to be hard when you have moved and don’t know many people. That happened when I first moved away with my ex-husband. I was young and we moved 3 hours from home. It was his first real job after college… he worked 70 hours a week… I never saw him and I knew no one… It was a hard adjustment. You’ll do fine… Join a gym, make time for yourself. I like cats but I’m allergic… We won’t turn don cute cat pictures! Love the meme!
Melanie: That is a super cool idea! I did a fun newsletter with my daughter. My husband’s family is huge and Lexi would collect articles from things happening and they would email her photos too and we put out a monthly newsletter for the whole family! So fun and creative! What a great way to keep in touch! I love little fun ideas like that. My hubby and I hide notes for each other to find when one goes away. It’s fun for both of us! Sorry about the job but glad you are at least somewhat happy with the outcome. Ohhh… a wine tour… sounds fun! Got to love technology…
Istoner: Love the wii. Good fun family time!
Rachel: Sweet moves on the pole lady!! Good for you!!! Sounds like your conference dinner went great! Sounds like you had an awesome weekend!! Alright to be a little lazy once in awhile… you’ve earned it!
Jdelaroy: Sorry to hear about your fall. Ouch! But way to get yourself back into running… Roller skating… Sounds fun.. I haven’t done that in years!! Sounds like you had a great weekend!
Janetay: Love the planting with Alistair! Very cool! It really does help when the hubs steps up and questions your motives… My hubby did that yesterday… from the living room… “Why are you getting into the ice cream?” “I’m not:…but cookie dough isn’t much better! Our snow is pretty much gone now! YAY! Sounds like you are ready for a great week, kicked up and ready to go!!
Missy: Sorry to hear you are stuck with the old job for awheil… That stinks! Have a wonderful week off!! You sounds like you need it! Have fun with the pups!!
Eva: Oh… how I miss mowing!! So jealous!! Sounds like you are keeping so busy! Keep up the great work!! Great news on the doctor front!! Happy bleated birthday too!!0 -
Wow... how did I fall so behind last week?! So last Thursday night, the baked spaghetti was amazing… then Lexi and I hit the gym... we both pushed hard but it was fighting back... that might have been the hardest day at the gym ever! Nothing to do with staying up until midnight drinking beer the night before! LOL! Friday morning… I woke up and got in another burn knowing I wouldn’t Friday evening! Then after work, my friend and I went for a fish fry and then to “50 Shades Darker”. I never read the books but she is really interested and her BF won’t go with her. Actually I liked this movie better than the first one. Then we met up with my hubby and BIL at the bar for a couple beers… I was ready for bed. Saturday… work up early and got in a great burn then headed to get my oil changed… I was done and ready to rock by 8:30… Did some house cleaning and met friends at noon for NCAA basketball! YAY! GO BADGERS!!! WOOT! WOOT! What an awesome day! Spent the rest of the day celebrating! Yes, my bracket it destroyed! I had Nova winning it all! LOL! So another late night… ugh! I will admit I had popcorn and beer for dinner. I know… awful! Sunday, hubby and I slept in. Much needed. Then we went shopping, took the dog for a walk and much needed house work! So nothing exciting. I avoided the scale this morning. Might take a couple days to re-coop this weekend! Yikes! I did manage to drink lots of water as well at least… Is that really my only NSV! Oh… I did try on my fav pants that were too tight and they fit again… just a touch snug, but give it another week!! Yay! So that made my day Saturday as well! Hitting the gym with Lexi tonight! YAY! Hope you all have a great Monday!0
-
Just a fun photo of Chad and I watching the big game! This Friday should be fun again!! Go Badgers!
1 -
I would love to join the group! When I started I had 60-70 pounds to lose and so far I've lost 26lbs. I reached a plateau and I would love some support and motivation through it! I also, took some kinesiology and nutrition courses and would love to put that to some use with helping others!0
-
Bentley got a much needed hair cut Saturday as well... I think they made her look too much like a poodle.. but it will grow out! At least they left her ears long! It will be nice for a muddy spring....
1 -
@vickyrose94 - welcome! Come and post often - we are a great, supportive bunch!
Shy - looking good for Bentley! Sounds like you had a great weekend and well done on the pants fitting again - great result.
Joy - I hear you on the in-laws. My FIL lives 260 miles away and that's good - doesn't offer him the flexibility to just 'pop in' when he feels like it so I don't get to go through the stress too often! Don't they just drive us all nuts . Wine and cupcakes - I like your style! I think you are right about spring - it feels like it is at least on the way here if not quite arrived yet - sun is shining but it's still a bit cold.
Rachel - not getting off the couch till 4pm sounds truly awesome! I think I need a day off to do exactly that - curl up with a good book and only move to make drinks and feed myself.
Jen - I'll stop complaining at this point - at least he only came to stay and doesn't live with us! I think it's lovely that your BF wants to have her around as much as he does - I also think it makes you a complete saint to be willing to let her live with you!! Lovely sounding weekend and congrats to your daughter - what is IEP? Hope Monday continued to be positive.
So despite being tired yesterday treated me well - good day, completed my diary within target despite eating 4 chocolate fingers at 10pm! Must try to sort out this pre-bedtime eating - not sure what drives it because it's rarely hunger. But besides that, I'll take the day as a win right now - better than I've done for weeks. Sun is shining and I'm working from home today so can't be all bad - going to try and do a little bit in the garden when I break for lunch - work is urgently needed and it will be good for me to get out and get some fresh air. Hope Tuesday is a good one for us all...0 -
Please add me! Need motivation!!!0
-
Ugh...I had finally seen the scale start to move, and my daughter's 12th birthday was this weekend. Yes, it's my fault...it was a cheat weekend. We had cheesy breadsticks and pizza (though in my defense, I really didn't eat much for each meal at one time!), a piece of cake, veggie chips, etc, and last night my parents took us out to dinner to the place of her choice which turned out to be a Chinese buffet...magically 5 pounds are back on again. I didn't think they'd come back on that fast, and even with the bad stuff, I was still eating moderately. *sigh*...cranked up the Zumba to 45 minutes this morning. Barely made it through - still very tired at times, but the knowledge of that 5 lbs helped! Thought I'd weigh myself after the workout just to make myself feel a little better, and I didn't even lose a pound of water weight. That's usually a given when I exercise (I do always weigh myself before that to get a more accurate read) and I didn't even have that going for me this morning!! I'm almost right back where I started! Not sure how that's possible when the rest of the week (and previous weeks) on most days I'm netting a little over 1300 calories with exercise, and prior to that I was maintaining without counting calories and no exercise. Frustrating!! Please tell me it's just a minor setback!0
-
@kasey39 I honestly wouldn't even call it a minor setback. You ate some high sodium foods which means that your body will retain water for a couple days. Unless you ate 17,500 calories over your maintenance level you did not gain 5lbs. At most you maybe put back on 1 pound. Keep doing what you're doing and the weight will go back down.
@bikiniagain13 Welcome!
@janetay01 It sounds like you have a wonderful day ahead. I'm jealous you're able to get out and garden. I want a garden but it would have to be planters in our townhome
Welcome @vickyrose94
@ShyCush6 I love the picture of you and your husband! And Bentley looks adorable with his new haircut. Those pants fitting is a fabulous NSV! You're going to be rocking it this Spring and Summer!
@bluepoppies777 It sounds like you had a fabulously active weekend! I can't wait until it is nice enough here to pull out my bike too. How was Beauty and the Beast? Worth seeing in theaters? Also, your meme is totally me! All I want to do is curl up, read my book, eat girl scout cookies, and keep my figure lol. I'm actually proud of myself that I haven't gone back to buy more cookies from the office girl scout Mom.
I wasn't feeling very social last night but I still went to derby practice and ended up having a great time. I allowed myself to sleep in today after the long practice so I'll do an exercise DVD when I get home (and maybe a short dog walk depending on the weather).
I'm still living off of frozen food since I was so lazy this weekend. Luckily I was able to stock up at Trader Joes so it's mostly healthy stuff. I made fajitas out of their fire roasted onion and pepper blend and their frozen chicken breast strips. For dinner they have a frozen marinated eggplant, red pepper, and zucchini medley that is to die for! This upcoming weekend I'll try to get back on the cooking bandwagon since it's definitely higher sodium than I usually do, but it's nice to have so I don't fall back on eating out (which is high sodium AND high calorie).0 -
@rachel0778 Dinner was great. I always try to celebrate my kids’ accomplishments in school. I want them to do better than I ever did. I am also very jealous of your lazy Sunday morning. It seems like my life never stops.
@bluepoppies777 Sounds like a great weekend, and love the positivity. Perhaps it is because you know you can make this work and now that it is spring, it is a renewal of a new year. Lots of outside activities to keep us moving.
@shycush6 You are doing great, Favorite jeans so close to fitting! I love the pic of you and your hubby. My knees are still scraped and bruised from the fall. Can’t kneel on them, it hurts too much. I took to wearing knee pads when I roller skate. I don’t care how silly I look, I like my knees more than my vanity. Sunday, we ran into a couple that we see every Thursday and most Sundays when we go roller skate. They are fantastic skaters. They complimented me for getting out there, and for coming back. They said they can see the improvement and I am not doing as bad as I think I am doing. I will take it. Oh my Bentley is so cute with his new hairdo.
@vickyrose94 Welcome to the thread! 26 pounds is a great start! Keep up the good work. When you hit a plateau try measuring other things that you are working on. Sometimes are body is stubborn and will hold on to the weight, might be water weight, but you will notice the difference in your clothes, or your physical measurements will be better, or you will notice an advance in your fitness levels.
@janetay01 No reason to stop complaining. I was already upset about her, so it just triggered my own need to rant. Last night she ran into my chair 4-5 times trying to get something. Rather than say sorry, or excuse me she kept doing it. I finally snapped, and asked her if there was a reason she kept running into me. I need more patience with her. Sounds like you had an awesome day! Great win, despite the lady fingers.
IEP= individual Education Plan. If a child has a diagnosed learning disability the school is required to offer reasonable accommodations to help the child become educated to the same standards as all children at the school. In my case, my daughter had been diagnose with mental retardation when she was in middle school, however, at the last meeting I was told her previous school misdiagnosed her, and her IQ level puts her just above this. Which is great news because the school can’t refuse to continue her schooling because if the child is mentally retarded (they now call it intellectually disabled) they won’t benefit from continued education. However, if the new school bill passes that Trump is trying to get through the system it will get rid of IEP’s and schools will no longer have to provide assistance for children with disabilities. I am so glad next year my daughter will be a senior and graduate. Her IEP will even allow her to get special assistance in college.
@kasey39 A rough weekend (but a fun one) is totally worth it sometimes, and is totally a minor setback. Sodium (Chinese, pizza, and breadsticks are all high in) helps you retain that water for a few days, even if you try and sweat it out. Increased activity will also make your body retain water. Drink lots of water the next few days, stay on track, and your body will rebound just fine. I highly doubt you gained 5 pounds from a rough weekend. You would have had to have gone 15000 calories over your maintenance calories to actually gain that much weight. I doubt you ate that many calories. You can do this!
I made my health goals yesterday, but ended up having a fight with the BF last night which has carried over to today. I cried all the way to work, granted I am a giant cry baby, but damn. Stopped at Starbucks because I was tired, and stressed. I bought a large calorie filled Chi Tea Frappuccino. I plan on drinking the whole damn thing, because well I am exhausted, I feel like crap, and some days the BF can be a real jerk. To top it off I have to go to a mandatory meeting after my normal work hours, in the Tech center. This will get me out of work smack dab in the middle of rush hour, it the busiest part of the city. I will then half to drive at least an hour to go pick up my youngest, then another 30 minutes to pick up my oldest before going home. This will get me home 3-4 hours later than I normally would, I will lose my walking time, and then thanks to the fight with the BF make dinner. I don’t even know if he will be coming home. Going to be a rough day, but I am not going to let it kill me. I am going to enjoy my tea, and then get back to it tomorrow.
I hope everyone has a better day than me.

Whew! Haha! As much as I love Chinese food/chips (not as crazy about pizza, but it was pizza and movie weekend for my daughter) I wasn't hungry enough to eat THAT far over my goal, so that makes me feel much better!0
-
@kasey39 Yeah it is about 3000 -3500 calories per pound. Most people on a bad day will eat between 3-4000 calories, so maybe a pound gain. It is when you start having days on end where you are going over. A lot of people also like to do their calories as a weekly total rather than a daily total. So if you were to have 1500 calories a day they would do do 1500*7=10500 Calories for the week. So if they have a day or two over, as long as they have a couple of days under they are golden. This is a journey, don't let the bumps on the road throw you.1

Welcome Vickyrose!
Janetay: Nice job getting the chocolate fingers in under target!! Sounds like a nice work day from home! Jealous!
Kasey: The scale jumps so fast! Sodium from the Chinese is pry playing effect some as well.. give it a few days and it will balance out… maybe not all 5 lbs. but it will drop! It will turn around and you keep motivated to burn it off! OI agree though how quickly they come back.. not right at all!
Rachel: You are doing amazing.. even with sleeping in.. I think you earned a day to sleep in! Love all your fun activities! Your food sounds yummy!! I love fajitas!
Jdalaroy: I used to roller skate all the time… It is a fun activity. I really need to take Lexi… There is a rink in my home town, that would be fun! I’m a cry baby too… don’t feel bad! Hope things go better than expected tonight… sounds rough.
So, Lexi had her first day of soccer practice yesterday on spring break, so therefore denied going to the gym with me. We did however pick up poop in the yard and I got in a workout, so overall a good night! I was really hunger but ignoring it about 9pm last night. Then the hubby comes out with blueberry pie and ice cream! Damn it, makes it hard. I avoided it just because I was kind of pissy he shoves it in his face right in front of me! So that was a NSV for me! I really wanted some!! Hoping to get in another good burn tonight!0 -
Thank you for the B day wishes. I did a lot of yard work this week end. I usually don't do any but mow the back yard. We had tall weeds cuz of all the rain & took some time to gather it all up & put it in trash after hubs weed wacked, plus a lot of sweeping. Old habits are so hard to break! Before mfp, I ate home made & fairly healthy (still do)but I ate too much twice a day thus couldn't lose wt that way, so lately I noticed I was slipping back to eating too much at lunch & dinner. Stayed within my calories most of the time but I just started to feel like I needed more food during those meals so today I'm back to my newer habit of eating less & having some snacks in between. It is HARD. I had lunch & was still hungry so I waited over an hour & just had bowl of soup, still hungry, ugh. Me & hubs are planning to go to movies soon, so that'll be at least 2 hrs. I know it's ok if i eat all my calories in 2 meals, but I feel SO much better if I don't have a full stomach & more energy if I eat throughout the day so I do WANT to get back to eating like that again.1

@jaydelaroy thanks for the 3,00-3,500 calorie thing -- I hadn't done the math that way. A really helpful way to think of things. I've been letting the days I'm over pile up. Gotta stop that0
