My mini goal is to keep doing strength training twice a week. I've been at it for about 5-6 weeks so far. That's pretty good for me as I struggle with consistency. I also want to increase my walking.

My current mini goal is to get down to the weight I was when I met my boyfriend, 14.3lbs to go!

My mini goal is to eat healthy, stay active and drop at least two prescription drugs when I take my labs in November.

Onderland. I am so very close.

I lost 30 lbs last year due to being really sick. I got down to 170 and would like to stay there. That said, my weight is creeping up due to bad habits. I want to change those habits and get back to 170 before my weight goes off the charts again.

My goal is simple. Not to lose any toes, a foot, or a leg. I just found out I have type 2 diabetes so that in it's self is great motivation. π

I'm posting my monthly exercise hours for June. Last month I did 12 hours ....this month I only did 9 hours. That includes today. I know it's because my husband took the month off...we stayed home but routines were slightly disrupted. I'm enjoying tracking my monthly hours and immediately know why I lose my trajectory. It's all uphill until I lose my focus but it wasn't a problem. I'll just get right back at it in July. @newgam03 You've got this! Don't think about the time it takes or changing everything at once. Focus on small steady habits one at a time and soon you'll reach 170 and stay there. For exercise, get out for a 10 minute walk 2x this week. Every week, add just ONE day until you are walking every day for 10 minutes. (6 weeks) Build a consistent habit first then focus on building endurance. Same with a small nutritional goal. Your weight will start to creep back down due to good habits with very little effort.

Oops, forgot to update! Bad news first, I haven't lifted for weeks. I'm in a flare up of autoimmune arthritis so most of it's contraindicated at the moment. :/ Hopefully I can return soon.
Good news, I successfully maintained! I ended up deciding to go the full four weeks at maintenance, then got sick at the end and extended it to 5.5 weeks so I wouldn't be sick and in a deficit at the same time. I even ate without tracking for the last couple weeks and did okay. Definitely some things to reflect on but overall I'm optimistic about future success.
I like 5 lb mini goals so technically my goal should be 179.9 lbs but I'm at 180.8 lbs today so that's probably a little too mini π Instead I'll make my goal 174.4 lbs because I'll be officially overweight instead of obese! I can't believe it's so close.
Second goal is 0.5" off my waist at next measurement, four weeks from the previous one.

I've slowly and mindfully lost about 50 pounds in 2.5 years. Today it's 48 pounds. Im at 139.7 pounds and a BMI of 24....safely Normal. My goal is 136 pounds as a set point at years end. Slow, steady and mindful.

That's inspiring. I'm aiming for about the same and have a bit further to go, but slow and steady is definitely the way.

My mini goal for the last two weeks of july is to simply stay on track and make good choices, as I will be on vacation and will not be on the same routine. I plan on tracking while at home but I'll be on a road trip for 4 days and I refuse to bring a scale ! And I want to enjoy some treats and restaurants along the way and not feel guilty for every bite of ice creamβ¦

Getting back to a size 12. I've been a size 14 for a few months, so 12 is very much in sight.

@mkculs Thank you! I wouldn't change a thing! In the NSV thread I wrote about the importance of resetting your set point weight. If lost slowly thru permanent change, your body naturally finds a new set point without gaining a huge amount.β¦it's magic!! Even after eating more and not exercising I only gained a couple of pounds and lost it very quickly. 50 pounds in 2 years makes a HUGE difference....people will notice....your mind has time to adjust....and one can even take it further and give themselves 4 or 5 years to lose 100 pounds. Im a bit stunned that at this point....I would be extremely slim losing 15 pounds and it isn't necessary! Yet I remember weighing 155 pounds ...15 more....and I was so happy!! Now 155 seems so heavy. You need time to adjust to your changing body. Enjoy the process and let it find its own setpoint. So my goal is to reset at 130 pounds when it's ready. Not a mini goal really...mini in that it's a small number but giving myself time. βΊοΈ Enjoy your journey!!!

I have 5 more pounds to my goal. Getting frustrated that itβs not gone.
7 -
@spirittrail Thanks. I get what you mean. I won't hit my real goal for at least a year, but I'll be in a healthy weight range long before that. Taking the time to let it happen slowly and naturally will be worth it. Are you by any chance a barefoot trail runner? If so, we corresponded a few years back :)

during covid I went threw a depression phase. Lots of family issues. I turned 2 medication 2 numb my life. So I been on methadone maintenance for 5+ yrs. Well I didn't know methadone makes everyone gain crazy weight fast. Its also hard 2 loose any weight while on it & its hard 2 loose the weight after u get off the methadone. So I gained almost 100pds in about 6yrs. I'm 52 yrs old & being FAT doesnt help w/ my medical issues. The weight gain is what caused all my health issues. No desire 2 do anything. No energy 2 go anywhere. I try not 2 go out my door if I can help it. Cause if I run in2 some1 i know there eyes scan my entire being frm head 2 toe. Than I get that awful look frm them & know what there thinking after looking at me. They have this sorry look in there eyes & wanna say... OMG GIRL WHAT DA F**K HAPPEN 2 U? U LOOK SO DIFFERENT... I ALMOST DIDN'T RECOGNIZE U... ITS SO EMBARRASSING & SAD!!! Idk what 2 do 1st but I can honestly say "IM TIRED OF MY FAT *kitten* LOOKING AT ME IN MY MIRROR!!! I'm losing this *kitten*... 1 POUND AT A TIME ππππππππ & 1 DAY AT A TIME!!! ππ ππ Any Advice Any1?

@Lizdefelice1005 .. Take a day at a time. There will be days when you won't eat well. Don't beat yourself up over it. Just say "tomorrow I will do better. Eventually it will all come together. Keep the faith!

@Lizdefelice1005 Every journey starts with one small step. Your steps need to be very tiny because your goal right now is to gain momentum. You are afraid of stepping outside right now and lacking energy you say. In your post you sayβ¦One pound one day at a time. That's too big. Reframe it. One ounce β¦ one hour at a time.
In the morning when you wake up, ask yourself, what can I do in the next hour? If you can't shower, brush your teeth. Wash your face. Just do one if need be. You'll feel better. Next, how can you affect one ounce? You drink a glass of water. You'll rehydrate. Now write these down. Next hour, what tiny habit will move you forward? Drink more water? Walk up a flight of stairs in your house? Write it down. When you watch TV, you can March in place during one commercial break every hour. Buy fruit and eat a few grapes every hour. You get the idea.
Always write it down. At the end of the day you'll be proud of your tiny successes. Gradually, your hourly tiny habits will become second nature. You'll still eat your favorites but you'll leave one bite on your plate. You'll walk around the outside of your home. You'll grow, you'll crave advancement.
As snow falls in tiny invisible flakes only to become a winter wonderland after many hours of steady work, you too will gain momentum. Stay tiny, consistent and mindful of your success. It's IMPOSSIBLE not to succeed! Don't get sidetracked by impatience. π

@mkculs Hi! No....I came up with my moniker due to a contest! A popular gym I attended added a large professional Rock Climbing or Boulder Wall. They asked the members help in choosing a name for the Primary Route. The name came to me so easily, I thought it would be suggested by someone else! SPIRIT TRAIL. The name captured the "spirit" of fun, adventure and love of movement. It was a VERY close contender and apparently came down to the wire between myself and the eventual winner. The top 6 favorites were invited to the Opening Day and were the first to climb the wall. Our local paper captured the big day! I'd never climbed before and learned that day....I will never forget it!! Myself and the winner posed for photos as I was runner up. It introduced a new element to my workout routine and even changed my travel experiences. I've been very fortunate in my life...many amazing life experiences have fallen in my lap. I continue to always stay optimistic thru everything π. π
