Given the interest/popularity of Disney, I figure I'd share my full race report - apologies for the length.

Day-yum. Seriously - how long have you been running? I can't imagine thinking that strategically throughout a race. I am DEEPLY impressed.

@RunTimert My Mizunos normally last 500-600km but I did have a pair that seems to have failed last weekend at only 230 km. Grumble - Grumble :/
@randilast Looks like a good plan. Don't be afraid to tweak the plan a little. I actually combined 2 plans to make one that fits my Life. One thing I do to any plan ( on advice from Local Runners ) is add an extra week in the schedule to allow for an un-expected Life-Event and another week for injury recovery. Once I get down to the last 4 weeks I just do a slow cautious Injury free repeat of the last weeks before the taper.
@7lenny7 I look at your Cold Weather Running Photo and see the open skin from your eyebrows to the balaclava and get an instant "Ice Cream/Slushy" headache. That and the Ear Lobes are spot's that I always make sure they are covered. Just make sure you never go into a Bank dressed like that as you might get some Special Attention.
@Ohhim: 98% humidity…. I would rather run in the cold that in Heat or High Humidity. You can only take off so many clothing layers before you get arrested. B)

Anyone ever use / run with ice cleats over your shoes? Thinking about getting some, but wondering if it is worth it.
I have 3 pairs of Cleats, two were gifts and all 3 are still in the original store package. @karllundy Like 7lenny7, @WhatMeRunning and @MorningGhost14 I have thought about screwing my shoes a couple times over the last 2 years. But then I pull out the Bottle of Glenlivet 18 Year Old Scotch and the temptation disappears. In the last two winters I have only had 2 days where the trails were Icy. But if you have an old pair that are getting close to retirement you really have nothing to lose. One nice thing about an older pair you can see your Wear Patterns especially on the Toes which tells you where to install the Toe Push off screws and the Heel screws for downhill trails.
@HonuNui Not sure which I like More the new Rides or the Background Scenery.

A very slow 18 km in 2 hours ( Intentional Slooow pace ) one of my HM long distance training runs. My priority was to complete it and not get a cold weather induced muscle strain. It was snowing lightly and since I was doing Loops along the River Bank Trails I kept following my old Shoe Prints in the fresh snow - there were no other shoe prints on the Trails which surprised me that no one else was out on the Trails as it was a rather mild -12C, but saying that I absolutely froze for the last half of the run. The draw cord that tightens around the waist on my coat broke so my body heat was not staying trapped in the Coat. Now time to repair the Coat and find that Glenlivet.

I don't think there's enough sole on my favs to screw. I love getting new shoes, but would have a hard time screwing them too. (I just know @MorningGhost14 won't pass that up )

hahaha once again!! cracking me up!!! You guys are hilarious! I always seem to come in here just when awesome funny s*** is going on!

Still can't believe how good my shins are feeling! I keep expecting to wake up and have my legs be absolutely useless and in agony.. but nothing! One other thing I've noticed.. It takes me 2-3 km to warm up before my pace gets steady usually.. but the last few runs, even though it feels like I'm running through mud during my warm up.. It looks like my pace during those few km's isn't actually that slow anymore.. Kind of surprised at that one!

I will have to come back and catch up but CONGRATS to everyone who partook in the Disney Marathon recently!! Want to come back and read through the race reports properly when I have enough time!

@Elise4270 On the t-shirts... Order done! Can you please PM me your paypal account details please?

Long, long day today and I am exhausted as is Hobbes the Vizsla...
It was a super busy day at work with no time for anything except sitting at my PC and working and being on conference calls, so we ran at the end of my 11 hour day because I knew I had too... This was my first evening run, in the dark in a long time. I will be sure to take the headlamp next time, even with street lights it was too dark in some areas and Hobbes definitely does not like being out in the dark! My legs were stiff from sitting all day but the run really helped my mood and made me feel so much better. It also calmed him down a notch so he was ready for more fun running and jumping at agility class. Now we are both exhausted. I will try to get caught up tomorrow on all the posts, so I don't get too far behind!

    1/1: 6.2 miles
    1/2: 11.6 miles
    1/3: Rest/Travel day
    1/4: 10 miles
    1/5: Rest day
1/6: 4 miles (am), 8 miles tempo (pm)
1/7: 4 miles (am), 6 miles with the Thursday crew (pm)
    1/8: Rest day
1/9: 12.2 miles with the Saturday crew
    1/10: 5 miles
    1/11: 5.8 miles with "Joe-to-Go" crew
    1/12: Rest day

Gonna do some core work this morning and maybe some biking this evening after today's papers are turned in. It was good to sleep in with no alarm set (thank you, finals! thank you, rest day!). And given that I'm still full from eating an entire pizza yesterday (hey, I budgeted for it!), it's best that my day didn't start with a run ;)

And here's some exciting news that I just have to share: Last night I snagged a new pair of Saucony Ride 8s from Amazon that I need for training for my spring marathon for next to nothing! List price: $120, Amazon price, $109, my price? $32! One color was on sale for $49, then I got an extra 10% off for a sale on athletic shoes, then I used cashback for another $12 off. I love my local running store -- I run with them every week! -- but I'm a poor grad student and a $32 pair of shoes cannot be passed up... especially since I was going to buy a pair the first week of February anyhow.

    Upcoming races:
    4/3: Caesar Rodney HM
    5/1: New Jersey Marathon
6/12: Race and Ride Cedar Point HM (maybe)

@HonuNui Those shoes are so gorgeous! I love Asics, but they're too narrow for my feet. I'm always drooling over them at the running store.

@Elise4270 Hope you're feeling better today! I plan on ordering and PMing details to you about the shirt this week :)

@shanaber A run always makes things better! Glad the pupper enjoyed it too. Your doggie posts always make me want to grow up to have a running dog.
