Of course this pup is all over our local FB running site and people are saying how he will run with them for 10 - 15 miles and then go off and run with another group who goes by. What a hoot.

@karllundy they need to meet and see if either gets a word in. LOL

This woman here is my hero...full marathon on a treadmill. Can't even begin to imagine. I had to grab the comment on the corral because it cracked me up.

Look at Hobbs! I love it @ddmom0811

So went to the PT today, I said I want to run Bridgestreet HM in April, he said then sign up. Lots of work to do on my ankles and hips, but he sees no reason why I can't run completely pain free in less than 6 weeks. Did I mention I love him.

@WhatMeRunning I think you should lower your expectations! LOL
I know, right? I truly had no idea how to predict my mileage this January since my focus was going to be running shorter distances as fast as I could maintain to get my pace up. The first couple weeks mileage was low as expected. When I added long runs back into the equation 10 days ago things quickly changed.

@michable Thank you! Not stopping there though :)

Went out on my lunch break, ended up getting lost somewhere in the midst of farms and country roads, and added an extra mile onto what I'd planned to do.

    1/1 - 3.36
    2/1 - 3.08
    5/1 - 3.08
    8/1 - 3.25
    9/1 - 3.08
    10/1 - 4.66
    12/1 - 3.56
    14/1 - 3.65
    19/1 - 2.90
    20/1 - 3.48
    23/1 - 3.65
    26/1 - 4.40

    Total - 42.16/35

@WhatMeRunning Because of the link you shared yesterday, I got all motivated and google-happied myself into some good basic stretches and foam rolling techniques for the ITBand issues I seem to be having. I gotta say, after icing the dickens out of that area for the last two days, stretching, and foam rolling last night...I slept all night for the first time in a week, woke without wanting to grunt or groan from the pain, and actually feel a lot better in that area. Almost feel like I could run without pain, but I'm sure that's just the ibuprofen talking lol.

I have 3 miles I was supposed to do yesterday that I think I'm going to just let go of, and I joined a running group that I'll meet up with tomorrow night for the first time. I'm excited and really nervous at the same time. I'm a lot like @MorningGhost14 and run solo. I'd like to find out if I run solo because I really like to, or if I'm too scared and too self-conscious because I'm rather slow-pokey. I'll know more tomorrow. My biggest challenge will be to show up, introduce myself, and actually run with them!

That's not enough mileage. Everyone knows you don't run exactly 26.2 miles in a real marathon. More like 26.4 or a little more depending how much weaving you do. LOL

Hope you get all your nicks healed up soon. BTW, you guys doing Havok this weekend? Free adult jersey Saturday night. We are talking about it.

The reason I signed up for this half on a whim was that I will be in the right place at the right time.

That's a great story, and I really appreciate your effort on behalf of your friend! Having just done my first HM (2:29:08), with the longest training run being ~11.5, I can say you're ready, and the fact that you're doing it "just for fun" is an excellent idea.

Have a great trip - we've got your back!

Are they doing jerseys on Fri or Sat night? Skip has an indoor meet on Friday. We've only been to one game this year. :frowning:

@instantmartian I'll be at Disney for the half, as well. If you and your friend decide you'd like to meet up for a drink or just a hello, let me know. I'll be with a friend and my 11 yo, but we'll be looking for low-key social things to do as my friend has hurt her neck and won't be able to do rides. It's really kind of you to try to do something special for your friend. My 19 yo son is autistic, and even with a wonderful husband and a supportive family, it was for many years very isolating and lonely because he struggled so much with change. The people who stuck with us through it all are very, very special to me.

@skippygirlsmom - great news from your PT and that you are finally able to go! That is unbelievable that the lady ran a marathon on the treadmill. I am concerned for her heel strike!
@5BeautifulDays - I have taught many autistic spectrum kids over the years. Most do very well in programming (which is what I teach). Love those kids and you are right, they like routine. When you teach with technology you have to be flexible and be willing to change your lesson plans when things don't work. Learned the hard way to explain why what I told them we are doing is changing for the 3rd time.

Jan 1 -41 mile bike ride
    Jan 2 - 34 mile bike ride
    Jan 3 - rest day
    Jan 4 - rest day
    Jan 5 - 5.25 miles
    Jan 6 - 3.3 miles
    Jan 7-11 - Sick :( 5 sick days.
Jan 12 - 4.1 miles — finally!!! Felt so great.
Jan 13 - strength training + 1 mile on treadmill
    Jan 14 - 5.2 miles
    Jan 15 - 5.1 miles; trainer cancelled
    Jan 16 - 4.2 miles
    Jan 17 - 6.02 miles
    Jan 18 - Rest Day
    Jan 19 - 7.4
    Jan 20 - strength training
    Jan 21 - 5.02 miles
    jan 22 - strength training
    Jan 23 - 4.5 miles
    Jan 24 - 10.68 miles
Jan 25 - recovery and repairing muscles day
Jan 26 - 5.2 miles - in the humid afternoon. Still a nice easy run.

I had to rearrange my week last week so i lost a 10.

Jan 23 - 10k with some hill repeats.
    Jan 26 - 7.5 km.

From Sunday's run - I love running by the ocean, even if it's too cold to swim.

@ddmom0811 I'm so grateful for teachers like you who work with ASD kids. My son isn't one of those programmer types (that would be hubby, lol), but he's had some fabulous teachers getting him ready to be able to do something productive out there in the "real world".

@3dogsrunning What a stunningly beautiful place to run--but it looks cold!!
