    Back to back riding days.
7/10 - 22 mile ride to the lakefront with a cycling group from my health club. Oddly, I was the strongest and fastest rider in the group.
7/11 - Fast solo ride of 17 miles in just over an hour. Fastest ride of the year.

Off today because I plan on riding the Bay View Cycling Club Lake Country Classic tomorrow. Not sure if I am up for 65 miles. Might try the 45 mile route. Depending on the heat, should complete it in 3 1/2 hours, 4 hours if it is really hot and/or hilly.

Completed the shorter loop. I was prepared to do the longer one, but my wife and child didn't want to go that far. But, we took a wrong turn and wound up doing an extra 8 miles, so 33 miles total today.

    7/1 - 5 miles outside.
    7/2 - 5 miles outside.
    7/3 - Rest day.
    7/4 - 0
    7/5 - 3 miles stationary.
7/6 - 5 miles outside, where it was only 77 degrees and cloudy.
    7/7 - 3.2 miles stationary.
    7/8 - 3 miles outside.
    7/9 - 0
    7/10 - 5 miles outside after a storm.
7/11 - 5.2 miles outside. I was bitten by a dog on today's ride. Not bad, but I had to pedal really hard when two dogs came after me. Cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol and I should be fine. One of the dogs on my old bike route was killed today because it bit somebody (I had to change routes because two dogs kept trying to bite me). We have leash laws, but people don't seem to care.

    Goal is 100 miles.

Did another 20+ miles yesterday. (Didn't track it but it was my usual 20-mile course plus a couple of side trips for some errands.) I included 10 minutes on the stationary bike each day last week, but that's not a lot. So, road miles are now over 100 because I took Wednesday off and did another long ride.

Another 16 miles today; we had a pool party this afternoon so I got in 45 minutes of swimming beforehand, knowing I might not want to ride for as long afterwards. Miles so far this month: 166.

BTW, one of our guests, our parish priest, came with his family and brought his bike so he could ride home. I asked him how far that was. "I'm not sure", he said, "but if it's less than 40 miles I'll ride around till I get to 40."

Awesome! Can't believe he planned to ride 40 miles home, though! He must live pretty far away, lol.

July goal 50 miles all stationary

    7/4- 4.5 miles (20 mins)
    7/9- 7.5 miles (32 mins)
    7/12- 4.3 miles (18 mins)
7/14- 6.5 miles (30 mins) have to guess mileage on this one, darn bike is acting up again. Was working fine for the first mile and then it wouldn't recognize the pedals. I know I was in the ballpark of most of my other rides based on calorie count.

I'm guessing about 6 miles today. I had to leave my phone home with my children because my husband had the other phone. I always think that my long weekend rides should make the shorter week day rides easier. It doesn't. I still find myself panting and cringing with burning legs and sore bum.

Thanks. Some people have given up their walking because of the dogs. Others carry big sticks (to fight off the dogs and the snakes). Yesterdays critter was an opossom waddling across the road.

I'm guessing about 6 again today. AT one point, I heard a light buzzing coming up behind me. I thought that I was about to be passed by another cyclist. When I turned, I discovered a fly buzzing past my ear. I'm not sure whether I should feel better that I wasn't being passed by another bike or worse that I was being passed by a little bug. At least the bug turned off of the road so I didn't feel like I needed to catch up to him.

I would still report the bite. It could be a child or older person unable to get away. GOes to history on that dog so owner gets pushed to keep it fenced/ leashed. Hope the dog had its vaccinations!

And I agree that the bites should be reported. All animal owners (including me) need to be accountable for their pet's behavior.

Incidentally most of my cycle rides are cycling to the gym for a workout and back, lol. There's a great 12 mile off-road cycle route in the forest about 40 mins from here (by car) which I'd love to go to more often though!!
