Obviously, it's pop. It was a rhetorical question.

It's soda pop. But when it's not it's just soda.

I usually go with either "Do you want a drink." or "Would you like a diet coke, diet mountain dew, Pepsi?"

    Here, have a map:

    total-county.gif

Link for full image instead of the one MFP is going to cut off instead of resize (like a good forum would):

Kentucky also... They are all coke. Then if someone wants one you ask what kind.

It's strictly regional. In OH where I am now, it's pop. In NY where I was born, it was soda. It MA where I grew up, it was tonic. It's coke where me sister lives in GA.

    Here's a map:

Ya say anything other than Coke here in Georgia you may be taken out back......

My mom is from Michigan and she told me a story when she moved down here in high school she went asking other students if there was a pop machine to which everyone just gave her weird stares. Eventually the principal came up to her and had called her mom. They thought she was saying pot machine.

Kinda funny but eh, it's Coke you pop and soda people ...stay outta my state! !)(!*&)(**& lol

    i say soda.

but it's not anything i'm going to get into a fight over. if you say "pop," i think i can tell what you mean - and isn't that the most important part?
