I grew up in Alabama & it's always Coke
When I moved to Kentucky I've noticed that more people say soda here instead
My sister-in-law is from Missouri and she always says pop...first few times she said it I didn't know what she was talking about

In New Mexico it's Coke...regardless of the actual brand. I've lived here for 25 + years and it still drives me nuts. It's both...soda pop.

There's actually a map that shows who says what based on geography.

It's soda pop. Or soda for short. Funny, I grew up in Michigan but my family says soda, almost everyone else says pop. Same in Minnesota, I say soda most my neighbors say pop. I guess we are all a bunch of soda rebels.

I say soda, HB says coke, but then again, that's all he drinks, so that's what's always in the fridge:)

It's POP. I'm from Chicago and that is what I always called it but since moving to Philly and no one says that around here, I eventually started saying soda most of the time.

    pop...

    Soda is an adjective...soda water...soda pop...soda fountain....

I do remember being in the south and having them reply, when I said I wanted a Coke, ask "what kind?" Me...thinking different flavors of Coke? Asked "What do you have?" to get the response "Pepsi, diet pepsi, root beer, 7-up, orange...."
