I suggest you stick to elliptical machines and small 5lb weights.
Oh, and forget about dead lifts, bench press, barbell rows and overhead presses...

Ewww....so bulky!!0

They should stick to cardio! Clearly the weights are making them look like men.0

Seriously? I've had more than enough of reading "being bulky = looking like men." That's discriminatory to BOTH men and women.
You look muscular, or you don't. It doesn't have to be genderified.
So either crawl back in your cavern and shut the hell up or grow up and understand that even if you personally don't like it, it doesn't mean it's wrong. There is no strict template to what anyone should look like. Stop trying to impose one.0 -
I call dibs on this one in fifteen years...

Squats keep them lifted And my husband really appreciates that
But we still have come a long way from the days when it was thought "if a woman ran a marathon her uterus would fall out"0 -
I love squats. Favorite EVER. Dat *kitten*.0

Gross I hope I don't look like that when I'm finished lifting0

Crap. I've only done 24 squats today, need to get on that. Might be time to jump on the 30 day squat challenge bandwagon.

Yes, let's do that.0 -
Eh... some people like muscle definition, others don't.
I think the ones that say they do not want to get bulky misuse the term. For me, I don't want a ton of muscle definintion, but that doesn't mean I don't want muscle.
I think these threads could stop any day and it wouldn't hurt my feelings any. let the cardio bunnies be cardio bunnies, let the lifters be lifters and let the ones that don't want to work out not work out.
I honestly couldn't care less, also be honest..majority of the women who have lost a lot of weight and who have seen amazing results due to heavy lifting did a lot of cardio prior to starting to lift. Everyone always seems to forget that part.0 -

True. But I still think the general populace has this idea that if women lift then it will make them bulky, fat, unattractive, etc. or that women CAN'T lift. Obviously ridiculous, but I had a trainer at my gym refuse to show me weights and told me to "stick to cardio only."0
