light, but I'll see how I look/feel at 127 (CW 133) I think the lightest I've been as an "adult" was 107 when I was 19, but that was too light even then.
105 would be underweight in terms of BMI for 5'4", but some people do have much lighter
builds and it might work for them2 -

At first I said I wanted to get back into a size 12 (I was between 16-18). When I made it into a size 14, I began thinking that a size 12 is only 20-30 lbs away. So I changed my goal to a size 10. As I get closer to my goal weight, I'll really evaluate myself to see if I should continue losing or begin maintaining. It all depends on how I like my new size and shape.2 -

I'm 39, 5 ft 4 and currently 147lbs. I'm of medium build and pear-shaped. I went up to 185 lbs in pregnancy so I've come a fair way and am just a smidge over a healthy BMI.
I'd like to lose another 10 lbs but am lacking motivation at the moment. I got down to 131lbs after my first pregnancy and that felt great.0 -

I tend to agree...even though I have some 5'4" friends who have dipped below 120. Some people have felt the need to go below 120 in order to get lean. I thought I was tiny at 128 lol.0 -
I'm 53 and always thought I was 5ft 4" but just got measured at a health check and am 5ft 3", shocker!! I started at 191 lbs and am now 151 lbs. I'm pear shaped and am now a uk size 12 on top and a 14 on the bottom. My bmi is 27.2. My goal was 145 lbs, I think I'll see how I feel when I get there. Haven't been this low in years. Apparently a few extra pounds looks better when you are of a certain age. Unfortunately my tummy always makes me feel bigger, I've had 5 children so have extra baggage in that area, don't think that will ever go!2

I have a small frame and have always been very petite (same with my Mom). I consistently weighed 105-110 for years until I recently gained some weight due to an injury and some major stress. I'm just trying to get back to my normal weight. The most I've ever weighed is 125-127, and I felt very large at that weight.6 -

I think it depends on your frame, how you carry your weight, and personal aesthetics. I have a very small frame - size 6 shoe, size 4 ring - and I'm apple shaped which means I do *not* carry extra weight well! It all goes right to my tummy. At 135, even with a good bit of muscle, I was still visibly overweight. At 125 I looked good, but only with clothes on. At 119, I'm pretty pleased, but I still have some jiggle in my waistline and I would like to see it gone. But I also know my goals are a little more extreme than those of most women my age. I want six-pack abs and I don't mind whittling off that last handful of pounds to get them.
Also, I have been as low at 105 in my adult life, but that was before I started lifting and I had no muscle at all. However, it was not an unrealistic weight for me at that time.7 -
5'4 1/2 and my original goal was 150 but I think I will like between 150 and 175 better. I like some squish.4

Starting weight: 238 (April 2016)
Current weight: 215
I am setting my initial target weight at 150. I'm part of an NIH weight loss research study that involves tracking on MFP, steps and weight daily over 18 months. I may move my target once I get closer, but I'll think about that once I get further on down the road. For me, the trick is maintenance - I want to end at a weight that is feasible for me to maintain. I would love to be 130 because I have fond memories of that weight, but I'll be 56 this year and I just don't know if that is realistic for me to achieve and, crucially, maintain. We'll see! One day at a time!3 -
I'm 5'3" started at 165 and am now 140.5. My first goal was 145 but now I'm amining for 130. While I feel *much* better at my current weight, I feel like I'm be even more comfortable at around 130, but honestly, if I stopped loosing weight right now I'd be fine.

Hi, I'm 47 years old and like a lot of people in there 30s and 40s are saying, yes would love to be in the 120s again like back in my younger days, but time to give up that fantasy. I started out at 234, I'm 157.7 now battling to get out of the 50s and 130 is my goal, which I feel is realistic. I am 5'4.6

That's exactly what I thought, too! 105 to 120 is an awful low weight unless you composition is really petite, which is possible, of course. I think most people that aren't super small/small bone structure or super petite etc. agree on here that 130s is realistic, so we are right on track, not meaning that anybody else's response is wrong, of course, just sayin' the majority agree it seems that 130s seems realistic. I, myself, did manage to get down to like 117 several years ago but it took GREAT PAINS to get there, I was starving and didn't feel good and I couldn't stay there, blew back up and am keeping that in mind this time around and doing it right.

120 isn't exactly super petite though. There's absolutely nothing wrong with weighing 130 pounds or having that as a goal weight. However, while it seems to be hard to believe that most women are petite enough to be 15 pounds above underweight at 120, why isn't it hard to believe that most women are only meant to be 11 pounds below being considered overweight? There's a reason why the BMI charts give a range of 105 to 141; women do come in all shapes and sizes. There are curvy 135 pound women and curvy 110 pound women. There are size 0 women who have had kids and size 10 women who have had kids. I do think many people here consider 120 as super tiny because they are coming from a starting weight that skews their perspective a bit.
In any case everyone is different and, unless their goal is some crazy unhealthy weight, they shouldn't have to explain their goal weight or simultaneously explain why they don't have a different goal weight.11 -
I'm 5'3" and started at 158. My goal is 130. If I can dip below that, great. But I'm not going to be disappointed if I can't.3

Holy fudge. I weighed in at 142 this morning. My profile pic is current, from yesterday. I think I LOOK okay but by god, when I've been as low as 128 it's scary. I guess I really need to start cutting again I was even trying and I failed.

I think it's really interesting how many of us have a goal between 130-140. I have had the number 130 in my head since I was a chubby 170lb 13-year-old. How did everyone come by their goal weight number?
I remember 130 being easier to maintain than the 120s. I also didn't have any of the health problems I have now (heartburn, snoring).

I'm 53 years old and 5'4" I weigh 200 and my goal weight is 125. I feel my healthiest at that weight. I want off blood pressure medicine so bad I could taste it. Lol. I would love friends so we can motivate each other in our weight loss journeys.2

5'4 currently 120. Would like to be 125+ with 10 lbs more muscle at 55 yrs (giving myself a ton of years to get there since I've never carried that much).3

I am 5'4 (45 years-old). As much as I would love to go back to 105-109, I know it means being on a strict 1000-1100 diet for several months, and then, having to remain at 1300 approx. only to maintain. No way. These years are behind me.
So my goal is 115 to 119, which I know is easier to reach, and most importantly, easily sustainable by just being "careful" with what I eat. No diet required once I am in that zone. And at that weight, considering my bone structure and overall proportions, I can wear pretty much what I want, don't have uncomfortable rolls or anything, so it's an excellent compromise.
Plus to be honest, as we age ... being super thin is not necessarily flattering. On me, the little extra 10 lbs compensate for the lost muscular tone.
So my short term goal is to hit 119. Then I will try to go down to 115, which is ideal, BUT I will not force it.3 -
5'3.5 here. Started 152, currently 144, ultimate goal is 125 although I'd be happy at 130 or so.3

Just curious why you'd have to eat so little to maintain that weight. Do you have a thyroid condition or are you just mainly sedentary?1 -
i am 5'3 and weight 137 today- I really want to get into the 120's even 129 would make me happy,. it is just coming off so freaking slow.2

Just curious why you'd have to eat so little to maintain that weight. Do you have a thyroid condition or are you just mainly sedentary?
I am mainly sedentary, although I walk a lot and always have (never owned a car and live downtown a large city).
So to maintain a weight under 110, at 5'4", I have to stay around 1300/day.
But to maintain at 115-120, I can eat more. I've never calculated precisely, but I know that I can eat enough to never be hungry (except for 30 min. before a meal, which is normal and healthy). Also I can indulge in calorie-dense foods, like ice cream, chocolate, bread and butter, alcohol, etc. once in while, without having to think to much about it. At under 110, it is a different story. If I had a chocolate bar or a portion of fries, a big adjustment had to be done the same day or the day after to compensate. I suppose that if I used exercise to control my weight, I would have to hit the gym.
So yes, 115-120 is a comfortable place to be for me. Under 110 is not.2 -
I feel really good around 125. For some reason when I am this weight my family and friends tell me I do not look good. Someone actually thought I had cancer or an eating disorder. I don't see it at all. I feel terrible when I am over 140. Working my way back down now!!!!
