@teresaw1020 Yes, so just concentrate on today. That's all we are guaranteed anyway, if you think about it. I've been known to throw things in grocery bags in closets and then deal with it later. Stash and Dash. What's your plan for the holidays?

@trooworld Glad to impart my wisdom to others. But sometimes it is do as I say not as I do. I'm still a work in progress. Bookclub was good. We read Where the Crawdads Sing. I think the movie will be good.

@cbabie And you know how others feel about your driving too. lol But God blessed me with a daughter just like you. Lucky me. Nice words of wisdom about the holidays. It's so true. The best time to exercise is when you are most likely to do it.

@joannadavison What's your favorite posh cheese? I love cheeses. Good plan for the holiday. Woohoo on getting in a HIIT workout. That's good that you are taking care of yourself in addition to your family.

Waving hi to the rest of you

Today was green and I love my green days. Stayed OP. So I went to bookclub. I ordered marinated chicken breast and a sweet potato. Did an 18 min walk in the morning and then in the afternoon, I did a combination of strength training and aerobics for 45 min. Tomorrow will be a rest day. I lost 0.5 lbs this week.

November goals: continue following carb cycling program each day, strength training 2 times a week. 4.5 glasses of water.

Good morning gals! Yesterday was a tough day for me: my officemate was eating a luscious bagel with cream cheese from the cafe in our office and it looked and smelled so good and I was hungry. But I resisted, I went to the vending machines and got one of those two-packs of salami-wrapped cheeses instead. I survived! lol

@TeresaW1020 A gallon a day is wonderful, I need to aim higher but I have such a tough time!!! Thanks for your support, I really appreciate it. I hope you have fun with your friend.

@cbabie That's wonderful what you've observed about us all!!! <3 And you have, too. You haven't had sugar for how long now? I'm still not sure what our plans for Thanksgiving are: I think we are going to make mostly keto sides with a few non-keto sides. I'm not going to stress over it. re: the bike...I think I need to sleep in my exercise clothes because no, I didn't get on the bike yet this week. :( I should at least lay them out the night before so that I know I mean business, right?

@joannadavison Same here, I need more sleep, it's so important.

@theslightedgeforever I loved that book. Yes, I think the movie will be good, too. Dinner looks good.

    EMPOWERED.

@cbabie, you make me smile! :) Wise words about knowing our triggers and having a plan to ward them off. You are also right that we will hear over and over that “it only comes around once a year.” I do that to myself all too often but I don’t want to go back to the old me!! I don’t! I want all those new winter clothes that are in my closet to be wayyyy to big come next winter and hubby will have to take me to buy all new ones again. If I keep choosing “just this once” over and over, then those new clothes aren’t even going to fit me this year because they will be too tight. I’m not going to let that happen! And it’s not just a closet right now. It’s an entire spare room. I told my husband to NOT let them in that room!

@joannadavison, ohhhh my what a family you have! Do you like the estranged husband? :D You sound like you have a good plan for eating and I do believe in the “planned indulgences” but they need to be really worth it and yes to track! :)

Good morning! Well, my house is finally decorated for Christmas and it looks lovely! Last night it did look like a glitter bomb had exploded all over my kitchen but most of it got swept up and hubby has instructions to do a thorough vacuuming today. I’m doing a taco bar for dinner tonight with Spanish rice and Mexican street corn salad. I’m also making fresh guacamole! If I stay out of the chips much of the dinner should be totally doable. There will be dessert but I plan to fast most of the day and hopefully it won’t hurt me too much. I moved my weigh-in day to Friday’s and I’m up a pound for the week. :# It might not have been so bad but last night I was so tired and covered in glitter and I just didn’t feel like trying to cook dinner so hubby went and got us Subway sandwiches. Tomorrow, I plan to get back on plan 100% and back to my workouts. I’m going to do this workout out called 80-Day Obsession. It will probably kill me. :o

@TeresaW1020 I think the clothes are a great motivator! Because I gained weight in September, all of my pants are too tight. So yep it is a motivator for sure. Yesterday I was in the grocery store and they had some nice coffee chocolate cake, and I was tempted, but then I thought about my pants. Nope! Managed to pass.

Glad you got your house decorated. The dinner sounds lovely. 80 Day obsession! Is that a mobile app you use? Good luck with it. I’m still in my gym’s 30 day challenge, but some of the workouts are lighter than others lol. Sometimes I just take a casual stroll on the treadmill and watch tv. :D

@trooworld that’s awesome about the bagel. Office food is the worst for temptation.

@theslightedgeforever looks like a great dinner. I love sweet potato. Haven’t been able to buy any here for a while, the crop just doesn’t seem very good or something. I can’t explain it, but the colour is off and they taste bad.

@cbabie what a lovely post…I don’t know if I have moved into another zone but I have tried. You’re right about the holidays. I have a birthday coming up before Christmas. I usually indulge a lot in both. I’ve been thinking a lot about my birthday and what to do. Still not sure. Normally I have Chinese food, and chocolate cake, and a drink. And yep, normally I feel sick after all that lol. I need to pick one. I can’t decide.
I’m okay. Work has been busy, and I’ve been sitting a lot working. This eventually hurts my back, so I’m suffering from it today. I think I mentioned ages ago one of my motivations for exercising is that if I sit too long it really causes me a lot of pain/problems. But when work gets in the way what can you do? So I was only able to have a good workout one day this week, for the rest I tried stretching and mobility. The good thing with my back is I can recover if I do the right things.

I’m on track with calories so I feel good about that.

Going to a museum with a friend this week. They have a special exhibit, something to do with the history of horror movies. I’m not a big horror buff but I’m curious about the display.

Speaking of horror movies, first snowfall yesterday! Fortunately it melted.

    Take care all!

@trooworld Woohoo on the salami. You have really taken control of your office situation. Why not ride the bike in your pj's? Nobody says you have to wear exercise clothes when you bike. Right now you are only doing 5 min. Or could you move the bike ride to when you get home. Change out of office wear and into exercise gear. Go destress on the bike 5 min to switch gears. No pun intended. lol Then you could finish out the rest of your night.

@teresaw1020 Have you thought of getting a salad at Subway? They will turn any sandwich into a salad. Taco bar sounds fun.

@its_cleo Way to go on passing up the cake. Those pants will be loose in no time. Stroll/Treadmill/TV: You're describing the majority of my workouts. lol But it's working. The sweet potatoes I buy in the store are lighter and didn't taste this good. Maybe they imported it from somewhere so they could charge me higher prices. lol . I really enjoyed it though. My daughter would love that horror movie exhibit. Yaaay on staying within our calories.

Yellow Day-Stayed OP despite going out. Lots of self talk involved and ended up dipping my chicken in the hummus cause eating the bread would have put me over. Meanwhile my food pusher hubby thought it was a good idea to moan through each bite of bread and say this is really good, are you sure you don't want any? I kept repeating the phrase, No thank you. I'll have some next time. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? Luckily I had just done an assignment this week on how to deal with food pushers. It worked. Exercise was a rest day. More water needed.

November goals: continue following carb cycling program each day, strength training 2 times a week. 4.5 glasses of water.

@theslightedgeforever my favourite posh cheese is Wenslydale & Cranberry (it's UK cheese from Wensleydale which is light, creamy & crumbly) I also love French Brie. Looks like you've managed to get a fair bit of exercise in. What exactly are green, red & yellow days?

@TeresaW1020 yes to the family! They make us look positively boring!! Cousin's hubbie is lovely- except how he treated them a few months ago when they separated. He's in UK for work last week & this week & driven 30Omiles to spend weekend with them- I'm hopeful for reconciliation but there's a lot to work out & her decision - I'm there for support not to influence. I have no problems with him coming for Christmas so long as she wants that. Mexican sounds good. I love Tex-Mex. Hoping to visit my sis in San Diego next year- will be eating Tex-Mex there!! We normally put Christmas decorations up 1st Sunday in advent. But I'm looking for some fairy lights now.
I'm taking to heart the comments about- "just this once". I'm currently at a Tea Shop with youngest (hubbie at work & eldest in London) so it's a treat- run by an old school friend who's good pla of my sis- downside: his cakes are gorgeous & we were indulging while I was reading posts. I really need to get my sugarr consumption under control!!

@its_cleo yup to the clothes. I refuse to buy next size up. Most of mine are tight & I need to get back to at least next size down- about 2 stone away! Enjoy museum- sounds interesting.

    Hi to everyone I've missed!!!
Today is only just above feeezing. I'm struggling with my mood a little - work good but just so full of busy on a night & with run up to Christmas-I've only got a few presents & no clue about what to get others- want it sorted soon as I can't be doing with last minute. Eldest has mock exams soon & the school have been piling pressure on so she feels stressed & is difficult to deal with- been to school to see Head (new one/Principal) & he is trying to turn around the negative/fear/threat culture. In addition DH is low too- so I worry. I think it's SAD with dark nights & mornings. I'm posting Thankfuls on FB to help duringN November. Found out this morning joiner doing kitchen in 2 weeks time & then plumber ensuite shower room the week after!! I knew about latter but didn't think we'd get kitchen beforw Christmas- pretty much all picked out. Maybe I can eat at my Mums & give her my recipes????? Either that or make up a load of meals for freezer & microwave!!!!!

Good morning gals! Happy Saturday. I'm plugging along here on the west coast. I did my official weigh-in this morning and I'm down 1.5 lbs from last Saturday. That's a total of 5 lbs since starting keto on Sept 30. Slower progress than I would like, but slow and steady wins the race, as they say. Today, I am going to start organizing our spare room once my husband leaves to visit his brother's. I have to wait until he leaves because if he's here, he'll tell me to wait until he feels like helping and if I do that, it will never get done. :(

@TeresaW1020 I would love to decorate the house for Christmas already but my husband refuses to let me put the stuff up until after Thanksgiving lol. Thanksgiving is his favorite holiday and he always says it doesn't get proper credit haha. The Mexican food sounds yummy, I hope things went well last night! Good luck with the 80-day Obsession yikes!!!

@its_cleo It is! And my officemate is the worst, she's always eating stuff and offering it to me. :( I would love that museum display, I love horror movies!

@theslightedgeforever Thanks! re: riding bike in PJs...wouldn't be comfortable, I sleep in a nightgown and I need...er...more padding down there. ;) I might switch to after work. I have to figure this out! Wow, your husband is a big food pusher, isn't he? Good for you for resisting!

Hi all, I am back from OK again, altho might be going back for Thanksgiving. Dh & dd both think we will be. A long time ago when dd was in Alpharetta GA with 2 little ones, we didn't like them driving home in the snow for Christmas, so we started alternating Christmas here with dd, and the next with dd there. (now she is in OK, so closer, but still not close enough, lol) Anyway, I guess a few years back we started alternating Thanksgiving also. No matter where we are, it will just be dd's family & us, so don't need to go overboard, lol.

@TeresaW1020 Your Mexican sounds good. Have fun with your friends & showing off your new house. They don't need to see "everything", lol. Glad your weekend was fun.

@joannadavison Sounds like your kids keep you super busy. Enjoy it, they grow up way too fast!!

@its_cleo Good job on your calories! When is your birthday? Mine is right before Christmas, too. Always tell my brother I was his Christmas present--not sure he agrees, tho, lol. We are supposed to get more snow & frigid temps tomorrow. Highs in the 20's! Yuck, not ready for winter yet!

@theslightedgeforever Wow--you are a determined lady! You need to send some my way. You are doing so well.

@trooworld Great weigh-in! I agree with your dh, no Christmas b4 Thanksgiving. Need to get my Halloween put away & get out Thanksgiving, lol.

@cbabie Yours was such an encouraging post. Not sure I have turned a corner yet, but am still working on it, which is what is important. Never ever give up!! Good luck with your new job, hope it is great! Thinking about the "once a year". Need to think about that & not let it derail us!

Well, gotta go. Going to gson basketball game this afternoon. Fun watching 9-10 year olds play, lol. & I suppose I should get busy & do something around here first.

November goals: average 10,000 steps (some days more, some less, but average is what counts), 64 oz water, stay under maintenance calories!

@joannadavison There's a place that sells imported cheeses. I wonder if they would have your posh cheese. Although I'm thinking posh=expensive so I'll have to see how much it is before I buy. I've tried Brie at my friend's house but don't know if it was French or not. I'm doing a carb cycling program. So the number of carbs I'm allowed varies with the days. Red-100 Yellow-125-150/148-164 Green 199-238

@trooworld Doing the happy dance for you for losing 1.5 lbs. I'm right there with you on slower progress than I would like but I've been consistent since August and this plan works better than anything else I've tried. I'm smiling about your husband helping because around here if it's something he has to do that I can't do he says I'm tired from work can't you wait for the weekend. Weekend comes and I ask him and it's It's the weekend this is my relaxing time. I totally agree with your dh. Christmas shouldn't be put up til after Thanksgiving. My favorite holiday too.

@renaegry Just enjoy the heck out of your weekend with no plans. That sounds so relaxing. I seem to have been go go go lately. I need a renew and refresh day.

@retiredandlovingit I'm going to lose this weight once and for all. I've been saying that for decades it seems and do lose and do gain it back. I'm tired of that game. Nice November goals.

Green Day-Stayed OP- Enjoyed 1/2 piece of some dessert that I made. It was too sweet though which means my tastes are changing. That's a good thing. Normally I would have had 2 pieces. Exercise was 23 min walk with hubby and then 38 min walk by myself.

November goals: continue following carb cycling program each day, strength training 2 times a week. 4.5 glasses of water.

@its_cleo, good job on passing up cake!! :) I bought my first pair of skinny jeans and I think I should just carry them around with me as a reminder not to eat all the things! :D 80 Day Obsession is a workout program on Beachbody On Demand. I’m doing one called A Little Obsession for the next five days before I jump into 80 Day. I’m still not sure if I will be able to do it. I know you will be getting a lot of snow so seeing it probably isn’t very welcoming. I’m hoping we get to see it at least once this winter.

@theslightedgeforever, I thought about the salad once I was sitting at my table eating the sandwich. Ooops!! :D I guess you will have to thank your hubby for how strong he is making you. Mine is the opposite and I’m often having to tell him to stop policing everything I eat. Men! :p

@joannadavison, I have such a love affair with cheese! <3 I’m thinking about doing a baked brie with a fresh cranberry chutney for my Christmas party this year. Yes, California has the best Tex-Mex. Make sure that you and hubby are getting enough vitamin D which is supposed to help with SAD. Yayyyy to a new kitchen! You will have to share pics with us. :)

@trooworld, girl congrats on your weight loss!!! I am so happy for you! B) You should see my spare room since I put up all my Christmas decorations. It’s a huge scary mess! My hubby thought I was nuts too for putting up Christmas before Thanksgiving, but he gave in and now really likes seeing all the pretties. Plus, now I won’t be doing it on Thanksgiving Day like I normally do, and we can enjoy the day and do something fun. :)

@RetiredAndLovingIt, I love 9 to 10 year old’s! That is the age I teach in Sunday School and they can be very entertaining. Good job on getting in your 10,000 steps a day and drinking your water! :)

Good morning! It’s cold here this morning and I am currently wrapped in a blanket. I know I have a small space heater around here somewhere and need to find it for my office. My taco bar dinner party went great and the time spent with our friends was very special. This was the young couple, I wrote about a few weeks ago who is having a baby that will not survive once born. :'( They brought their 2-year-old son and he hit it off big time with my little dog and he didn’t touch too many of my Christmas decorations. 😊

Yesterday, I started a new 100-day challenge with my Beachbody coach. I’m committing to the workouts, drinking my water, tracking, and no cheating (although occasional planned indulgences that I track is something I will probably allow). My weight is up from all the overindulging I have been doing so I’m reigning it in. The next event is the church Thanksgiving dinner and I’m already thinking about stuff I can bring that will be on my plan. ;)

@trooworld well done on the loss

    @renaergy hello!

@RetiredAndLovingIt - I can't believe how quick they do grow. Comparing a picture of my eldest aged 16 in cadet uniform today with one of DH next to Berlin Wall aged 21 some 34/5 years ago & they look about same age!! Feel like only a couple of years ago they were born not 16 & almost 14!

@theslightedgeforever you might get Wensleydale in a British Shop but it will be expensive. It's the same cheese 'Wallace & Gromit ' eat- do you have that cartoon/animation in the USA???

@TeresaW1020 agree with Vit D- I had a superdose last year & that was one of things they're checking in my bloods. Was hoping for results last Thursday but they weren't back. Looking fwd to Tex-Mex in CA

Hello to everyone else. I'm at train station to meet my cousin (weekend away) been at Remembrance Parade in Durham this morning. Train arrived- catch you later

Morning ladies! Well, I did spend about an hour moving stuff around and sorting things in the spare room. I ended up getting rid of a bunch of stuff and will probably get rid of more. It looks better and I got some exercise and hubby says he will put up the storage shelves today (I hope). That room was driving me batty! Here's what I am making for meal prep today:

One-Pan Creamy Chicken and Spinach + steamed broccoli
Low-Carb Roasted Italian Sausage and Sweet Mini Peppers Sheet Pan Meal
Easy Crock Pot Peppered Beef Tips + Simple Cauliflower Keto Casserole
Creamy Ranch Chicken + Pressure Cooker Southern Style Green Beans
Crock Pot Pork Chops with Gravy + roasted asparagus

@renaegry Enjoy your free weekend. :)

@RetiredAndLovingIt Thank you! You and my husband lol... ;) I did just put my Halloween decorations away yesterday. I am ready to put up the Christmas decor now!!! :D Have fun at the game.

@theslightedgeforever Well I may have gained that 1.5 lbs back last night: we were having steaks for dinner and DH decided he wanted mac and cheese with the steaks. I agreed to it. :( I'm back on track today. I'm glad your plan is working so well for you. My plan is working better than anything else I've tried to in the sense that I don't feel deprived and I don't feel like it's a diet. RE: waiting for the weekend...yeah, then it never gets done, right? That's why I jumpstarted it myself. If he doesn't put the shelves up today, later today, I will attempt to put them up myself. You guys and Thanksgiving!!! lol I'm glad you enjoyed your green day.

@TeresaW1020 I love cheese, too. I love baked brie yum. Girl, I was afraid that I would die in that spare room yesterday, that something would fall over on me and the world would never hear from me again! lol But I just started pulling things out of the room and sorting through them and eventually, it got better. I bet your house looks so nice!!! It's been hot here, yesterday it was like 80F, too hot. That's very sad about the young couple. Your new challenge sounds like something that will be very good for you. By the way, I have had no trigger foods!!!

@joannadavison Thank you! Have a wonderful day.

Well I was under calories this week but still somehow gained a pound. Not sure how or why, but I'm just moving on. Got a good core workout at the gym today, but most of the week was pretty sedentary.

I went to the museum- I was interested in a special display of old horror movie posters like from the 20s and 30s and onward. The collection is owned by one of the Metallica guitar players. He actually has a collection of electronic guitars painted like some of the posters- old 20s pictures of Frankenstein, Dracula, the Mummy, etc. It was pretty cool.

All kinds of other culture in the museum but I was only interested in the movie posters lol. I have some pictures, I will upload them this week and give you guys the link.

I wanted to tell you guys about a good breakfast I’ve been having though it does have carbs. I eat eggs a ton for breakfast but I get sick of them. So I have homemade apple cinnamon oatmeal. I get the rolled outs, ½ cup overnight mixed with ½ of milk. Then in the morning ½ tsp of cinnamon and a diced apple. It is delicious. Other times I make it with a tbsp of peanut butter and a sliced banana.

@trooworld sounds like the room is coming along! I still dont know how to organize my place properly. Steaks and mac and cheese- I never thought of such a thing. It sounds like the best thing ever lol!—That’s cool you like horror movies. I never used to and then slowly I got into it. I only watch them when I’m in the mood. One of the things that stops me now was I used to always watch them with nachos and salsa and dip. Because how scary can it be when you’ve got nachos? That was my theory lol. I think the last one I saw was Conjuring 2. I really want to see Get Out and the Quiet something or other from last year. But I dunno if I can do it without nachos :D

@theslightedgeforever glad you’re making progress. Thanksgiving is my favourite holiday too, but ours is past.

@TeresaW1020 I looked up that program. It looks cool and challenging. I’m glad you had a nice time with your friends- I do remember you mentioning that, I hope they’re doing ok. – You can have our snow! If we get buried I’ll try to take a pic.

    @joannadavison enjoy your trip!

@retiredandloving it- ha ha about the birthdays and xmas! Mine is actually not too close to xmas- it’s Dec 3. My brother is Dec 6 – but 2 years later. When I was a kid we always had the same party which I hated. This year it’s a Tuesday. Not sure what to do, I may take it off work. I'm turning the big 43. – weather- I think it might get colder where you are than me.

    Take care all!

@teresaw1020 80 Day Obsession- Your sabotaging thought I'm still not sure if I'll be able to do it. Response: I'm going to give the 80 Day Obsession my best shot and I'll be doing it much better at the end than when I first started it. Even if you have to modify some moves it still counts as doing it.

@joannadavison I've never seen an episode but I know who Wallace and Gromit are. Keep working on your food and exercise goals and you'll be able to drop a kilo this month.

@trooworld Hooray on your exercise. So what thoughts crossed your mind when dh was plating up the mac and cheese? "A little won't hurt" "I'll do some extra exercise tomorrow" "That looks so good" Is there anyway to add to your plan "planned indulgences" so you could have mac and cheese and not feel any guilt or whatever? Kind of like WW weekly points. Instead you get X number of carbs. So you would say to yourself I'm not going to eat any today but I'll plan a small portion for tomorrow. It's the impulse eating that we are trying to control.

@its_cleo Moving on is a good attitude. I've had the same thing. I'm up a lb since last week and I have been following my plan and exercising. No reason for it other than maybe sodium in the restaurant food or Granny Flo preparing to make a visit. It's happened before but still a bit discouraging. So I'm glad I'm taking the long view and I will be losing this weight. The oatmeal sounds good. I'll try it. I was going to change my Thursday Green Day breakfast to oatmeal so I'll try this. What is the significance of Thanksgiving Day for Canadians? I always wondered that. And I just might have already asked you this question. lol

Red day- Stayed OP. Just barely. Got 99. I exercised for 16 min today. I planned more but was hormonal, got into a tiff with the family, so went to my room and watched TV. lol So a definite response card needs to be worked out for that situation for the future. That didn't help me get to my goal.

November goals: continue following carb cycling program each day, strength training 2 times a week. 4.5 glasses of water.

@trooworld, Yeah I think my spare room is starting to become a hazard zone too. :o I’ve had all my Christmas stuff in cardboard boxes and I’m going to switch them to plastic tubs this year, so I just kind of need to wait until January and then I can organize it all. Good looking menu you planned! I need to do mine today too. Yayyyy to you not having any trigger foods. I failed last week but this week I am NOT failing. B)

@its_cleo, sorry about the weight gain. :/ It’s the most frustrating when we are doing things right and the scale still betrays us. Yes, I need to see pics of snow. The chances that we will get snow that actually sticks for more than a minute is rare. I mostly just want it so I can video my little dog in her backyard. :D

@theslightedgeforever, once again you are right and your wisdom rings true! Yes, I’m going to give it my all and know that each day will make fitter and stronger. Plus, I really want that feeling of accomplishment that I stuck to it for the entire program. I’m always a great starter and a terrible finisher. That needs to stop!! :#

@renaegry, I don’t know anything about the premium and if it’s worth it. I thought someone here had it but I can’t remember who. :)

    I miss Trisha!! <3

Good morning! This week will actually be a normal week and I’m happy to have it! Today, I think I will make a grocery list and hit the store after work. Tomorrow is supposed to be low 30’s and raining. I don’t want to go out in that nonsense! Have a good day! :)

Good morning gals! Boy, I felt lazy yesterday but I did get some meal prep done. I need to cook 2 more meals in the crockpot, I'll do that overnight tonight.

@its_cleo The museum exhibit sounds really cool. I'd love to see your pictures. Your breakfast sounds yummy. The room is coming along, my hubby attempted to put up the shelves but he thinks that some of the parts are missing so we may have to order a new shelving unit. :( But it is better than it was before! Steak and mac and cheese, best thing evah!!! LOL Yes, I love horror movies. That's funny about nachos and horror movies. The Conjuring 2 was so scary!!! Get Out was really good and A Quiet Place? That was good too! You can do it, just load up on your nacho supply! lol

@theslightedgeforever Guilt crossed my mind. BUT...it didn't stop me from piling my plate up with a healthy portion! I'll have to think about it some more. The problem is that most of the time, these things are spur of the moment occurrences. Sorry about the tiff with the family, I hope today is better.

@renaegry I have the premium. It's worth it if you want to be extremely careful tracking your macros but other than that, it is not. I think slightedge also has premium, maybe she can chime in?

@TeresaW1020 Yeah, luckily nothing fell on me lol! I locked the dog out of the room so nothing would fall on him either. I'd like to switch things to plastic tubs, too, but that will have to be done little by little as those can add up in price. Thanks re the menu. You can do it, hang in there! I miss Trisha, too. Hopefully, she comes back soon. <3 Wow, that is some bad weather. :(

@trooworld I see by the bell they have a clip board now with available plans regarding eating and steps. Weekly and monthly. Looks like something I would like for the motivation.

@renaegry There is a step challenge thread that I have gotten on again for the last few months. Look for Monthly Step Challenge-November 2019. I think it helps me (usually, but not the last few days, lol.) I keep track of daily, monthly total, & then average daily steps. The eating I am still working on, lol.

@its_cleo My birthday is Dec 22, and my "little" sister is Dec 5(she's 4 yrs younger) Far enough apart that we always had separate birthdays & my parents made sure my birthday was separate from Christmas, too. Although I usually had a Santa on my cake, lol. Always wonder about the overnight oats..so do you eat it cold?

Talking about store rooms, I have 2 huge closets in the bedrooms downstairs that have not been organized since we moved in 2 years ago. One is my craft closet, need to get rid of stuff I don't do any more. & the other is full of extra old bedding & smaller clothes from way back (that I might someday get into, lol). Really need to purge a lot from both. Keep saying it is my winter project, so hopefully this year.

Well, gotta go. Its Veterans Day, so dh is filling up on free food & I tag along. Trying hard not to fill up as much as I have been. Going to see dd always gets me started & it takes a little while to rein it in again. Hope everyone has a great day.

Oh yeah, 3" of snow last night. Yuck, it could have waited awhile for me!!

Morning all, Sorry I have been MIA. I have no excuse except Friday was a very emotional day and I am just getting back to not being depressed. aej54zg4zid0.jpg

Thank my Grandson for trying to ruin my no sugar or sweets...but it is still unopened..

@RetiredAndLovingIt Sounds like you are on the right track...and no thanks on the snow.

@TeresaW1020 I bet your home looks great. Yes you can do this. I just finished going through my clothes closet and I have a huge lawn & garden leaf bag to give away!!!

@trooworld LOL I had to laugh at the PJ workout remark. I am so glad you post your recipes. Helps me get ideas. Congrats on the loss, you are doing great!

@its_cleo It's so good to hear laughter in your post!!!! Yea Dec is a big or was a big month in our family.

@theslightedgeforever I am glad you have found something to know that you know you are getting this down this time. It makes me happy....besides, I can steal your ideas...LOL

@cbabie that does look tempting! Tell yourself it's for the kids. Yeah thank you I am feeling good again.

@RetiredAndLovingIt I eat the oats cold, though you could warm them up if you want.

@theslightedgeforever Thanksgiving- I think it's the same as US- the settlers came from England/Europe. The only difference is here they still wanted to be part of the Commonwealth....thus the Queen is still our head of state, but it's just a formality. She has no power.

We also don't make a big deal about Plymouth rock. Like when I watch TV they show kods doing Thanksgiving plays about the pilgrims? We don't really do that.

@TeresaW1020 yeah dogs love snow. And it's nice for kids. I don't mind it except I can't exercise outside as much. I don't ski or anything.

@trooworld I might watch them over xmas lol. It's the only time I have to watch movies really.

    Hi all
    Just a quick note tonight.
I'm kind of struggling to get my head in right place to stay focused. I'm tracking but need to be more accurate. I also need less sugar- so I'm trying to plan a little different.
Looks like quite a few on organisation tasks at home. We start next weekend as kitchen prep starts a week today!

@renaegry I have premium and I answered you on the comments where you posted on Home. I mentioned I like it because I have different calorie goals for different days. Higher on Thursdays and Saturdays when I'm more social. Plus I like seeing my carbs listed in order of highest to lowest so I can be aware of what foods I need to be careful with. You can do that for any nutrient or macro. Like if someone had high blood pressure, they could track all the sodium items in one place. It's just a time saver I think. Plus you can change your dashboard to show the things you care about tracking the most. Hmmm. I don't have anything by my bell. Maybe I don't have that turned on in my settings.

@teresaw1020 I too struggle with that start/finish thing. I'm getting better but.....still needs work. I guess cause I'm busy chasing the next shiny object.

@trooworld Even with spur of the moment occurrences you can plan for them. By that I mean think of a situation that might occur. You know what kind of things in your life has thrown you off of your plan. Visits to the family, dh not wanting to help with meal prep, going out with friends. These are just some of the things I know you mentioned. Why not have a contingency plan in place for these situations. The thing is do they happen often enough to hinder your weight loss or are they just a one off. If they hinder you, time to tweak the plan to include them. Set a slightly higher carb goal just for those days/situations.

@retiredandlovingit I have a corner of my office that needs sorting. Been there a LONG time. It's much smaller now. I hope to get it done before I die. I noticed the snow. My son has to drive from Johnston to Grinnell every day. It worries me in the winter.

November goals: continue following carb cycling program each day, strength training 2 times a week. 4.5 glasses of water.

@cbabie turn it upside down as a reminder that you will gain 2 lbs if you eat it. You can't steal what I give away for free. :P Besides February was the best month in our family.

@its_cleo You eat the oats cold? :imagine my face: lol That's interesting. Thanks for the Canadian history lesson. I never thought of the settlers going to Canada. Who were the indigineous people? Indians well Native Americans? (can't keep up with all the word changes)

@joannadavison You know I'm not an all or nothing person. But baby steps. So could you incrementally lower your sugar intake? Of course tracking is the most important part. Otherwise how will you know how much you've eaten? So how about for rest of November track every bite, lick, taste that goes into your mouth. Also just eat half of anything sweet that you were going to. Instant reduction on sugar grams and calories that way. Bonus: You get to enjoy the little part you had. I've learned to take smaller bites on things like that. I enjoyed a couple of Milky Way minis today. In actuality, I can pop the whole thing in my mouth and swallow and not even really taste it, it's so small. But I deliberately have been making each one last about 5-6 tiny bites and enjoying the flavor and texture to make it last longer. Very satisfying. I can't imagine life without chocolate.

@trishastime If you're lurking, we miss you.

Yellow day- Stayed OP. Went to a friend's house for brunch. She's struggling with controlling her diabetes so this was the first time that we got together and didn't have sweets or desserts. I said don't make any on my account. I can get mine at home. I walked 23 min in the morning and then later realized it was my rest day. Oh well. Better for my body.

November goals: continue following carb cycling program each day, strength training 2 times a week. 4.5 glasses of water.

Good morning gals! Yesterday seemed like a long day and I was so tired. I had a work function and there were cupcakes from a bakery that won some baking show on Food Network, but I didn't have any, I just had unsweetened iced tea and watched as my coworkers ate the cupcakes. Luckily, they all said the cupcakes weren't very good. My weight is up still from the mac and cheese and steak, or possibly the poke bowl I had the other night. I'm so mad. It's amazing how slowly I lose weight but how quickly I gain it back. :(

@renaegry That's interesting, it may be worth trying then.

@RetiredAndLovingIt Just start on those rooms, you'll feel better! Just set a timer and do an hour at a time. :)

@cbabie Sorry you have been having a tough time. Yikes to the candy corn! LOL yeah it just wouldn't be comfortable in those PJs ;) . I'm glad it helps someone to post the recipes, I'll keep doing it. Thanks for your support.

@its_cleo That's interesting about Thanksgiving for you. Is it called Thanksgiving, too? Christmas time and horror movies, perfect time lol.

@joannadavison What kind of plan are you trying?

@theslightedgeforever Here's a for instance: The other day, neither of us felt like cooking and so we ordered poke bowls to be delivered. That was safe, but it could have been disastrous. How would I have handled that? Adjust my carb goal for the day?

@trooworld Looks like just you and I. Maybe you are holding onto a bit of sodium bloat. I've been staying within my guidelines each day and I'm up a lb. I'm say oh well. Moving on and keeping to my habits. I'm also about 6 days late on my period so hopefully it's just that.
So situation is that you don't want to cook:

possible solutions: Keep items in the house that is easy to prepare or grab. yogurt, scramble up some eggs, (I know you said you don't want to cook but really it's 5 min or less) pepperoni slices, almonds, cheese cubes.
Low carb frozen meal in the freezer
    Order keto-friendly take-out
Prep all your meals for the week so they are ready to eat
Allow yourself X amount of carbs weekly as a bonus like WW does. On WW, we had our daily smartpoints and then we had weeklies that we could tap into if we needed them. Most of the time we can choose not to need them.
If you lived by yourself this would be an easier choice but you have an accomplice in helping you deviate from the plan. So in your mind you could be practicing your response to his conversation: Honey, I don't feel like cooking tonight. Let's order out tonight. I think X sounds good. What's the proper response to that. It depends on how much you want to lose weight. You could say, yes I'm tired but I really want to stick to my plan so tonight I'm going to go scramble me up a couple of eggs and add a bit on the side. I'll feel better later cause I stayed in control. I'll be so happy when I step on the scale and see it move downward. OR you could say, Yes I'm tired too. Let's order poke bowls. He says oh honey, I don't feel like eating poke bowls today. let's order pizza. You say, but it's not on my program, you know that. He says, just this one time isn't going to hurt and tomorrow you can go back on your plan. Come on. So pizza is ordered and you eat one slice. That was really good so you eat one more. I think it's more important to plan the pizza than giving in. Because then you stay in control. Look how good you are doing at the office now. Eventually it will spill over to your home life.

I stayed OP today. I walked for 58 minutes. It has begun. I got an invitation to a Christmas party. I can see alot of food related events happening in the next 6 weeks.

November goals: continue following carb cycling program each day, strength training 2 times a week. 4.5 glasses of water.

@cbabie, Yikes Candy Corn is like crack for me!! I would have to get rid of that or it would be in my belly!! What are you going to do with it? Want my address? Kidding!!! :D:D

@theslightedgeforever, I bet you didn’t even miss the sweets or desserts when you saw your friend. I love brunch!! <3 Hubby and I did brunch on our weekend trip and I had the chicken and waffles. Big mistake because that was wayyyy more carbs than I could handle. I am still waiting for my mind to catch up to what my body can and cannot handle. :/

@trooword, great job at staying away from those cupcakes!! I am so proud of you! Theslightedgeforever gave you some great tips! I really like the idea of giving a bonus weekly carbs to use or not use. I just might have to give that a try! She is totally right that it’s better to plan than give in to food. Wayyyy less guilt. ;)

Good grief its 23 degrees and only going up to 45 degrees today! :o Hubby wants us to go get our flu shot and I need to return an item to Hobby Lobby but I don’t know if I want to do all that now that the Arctic has come to Georgia! Yesterday, I did my first day of 80 Day Obsession and it went great. I did have to modify some of the exercises to fit into what I’m capable of doing but I did the full hour and this morning my body isn’t screaming in pain. Today, it’s an hour of working out the booty. I might be screaming tomorrow. :#

Good morning gals! My, I have a headache and am tired but I'll live lol.

@theslightedgeforever I guess so! I like the graphic. Yes, or carb bloat. Hopefully, the next time I get on the scale it will go away. Thanks for the ideas. They are all good. I think I need to really concentrate on making sure meals are done ahead of time, and maybe having some snacks on hand to make meals out of (I hate eggs, so that's out for dinner...I tolerate them for breakfast sometimes if there is a lot of cheese in them lol). I also think I will have a pool of "Weekly Carb Points" that I can dive into for emergencies. I'll have to think about how many. What a nice walk you had. Are you going to go to the Christmas party?

@TeresaW1020 Thank you so much! She did, I like that idea, too and I am going to use it. I just need to decide how many "Weekly Carb Points" to have. I'm thinking maybe 25? 35? Oh dear, that is cold!!! Great job getting 'er done with the 80 Day Obsession!!! :D
