@dankas001 Welcome back! Good for you for losing 5 lbs. Now onto another good week.
@teresaw1020 I have the opposite reaction to moving so much I want to keep everything. Keep tweaking your program til you find what works. Weekly average might be the thing for you.
@trooworld Give yourself credit for what you have done right. Keep working on the other things. I'm on the red yellow green plan myself.Great news you could stay in your house, but maid service sounded good. Hooray on your weight loss. I didn't do anything really today. Just stayed at home like I have been forever. My dd and I played cards on zoom. Although I was wishing I was at a BBQ somewhere.
@cbabie The bread is the best thing about Subway. Although I get salads at subway. My favorite is Chicken Teriyaki. So how will you treat your anxiety this week? Baby might be sensing your anxiety which causes her anxiety and she's not sleeping and it's a big circle. Feed her peas and catch yourself a nap.You can only control what is around you and in your house. No need worrying about the past or future but what is right in front of you at the moment. That's what mindfulness is all about. Ask yourself what can I do in this moment to keep going forward? Even if it's just a half-step.

@cbabie, I agree with you that anxiety is straight from hell and it’s so hard on our emotions and our bodies. Yeah, our numbers are up here in Georgia too and on Tuesday my town will be voting to see if they can make mask wearing mandatory. I don’t think it should be mandatory, but I do wish people would be more aware when they can’t social distance.
@trooworld, yayyy for your weight loss! Did you make the Filet Mignon Eggs Benedict? That must have been incredible!!
@theslightedgeforever, I think I’m the queen of the tweak.I do like doing the weekly average for my weight. I think it allows me more freedom for things like Mexican the day before weighing in but also gives me a more accurate overall number. Of course, the whole goal is to trend downward, right?
Good morning! Well, yesterday was another day of eating and drinking. I didn’t do terrible, but I did have a big bowl of ice cream and almost a bottle of wine. Our next-door neighbor set off a ton of fireworks and my poor Maggie Mae was a hot mess even with Benadryl in her little body it was past midnight before she finally settled down and went to sleep. I have church this morning and not else planned for the rest of the day. I think I will work my new puzzle, listen to fasting podcast, and not eat until dinner. I’m making a cold chicken curry salad and onion rings so that is something to look forward to.0 -
Morning all, I am glad you all had a safe 4th of July. It was crazy here noise wise. Fireworks, I could have SHOT my neighbors. I have 3 dogs and I hate furry things, but they are here and I would never harm them. But I am very afraid of them. Well they went crazy with prancing, panting, shaking...it was awful. I put oils on them and diffused my peace&calm with lavender too. They finally calmed down and dozed in their beds at my feet. I went 73 calories over yesterday, but all in all was okay with it. Today is Sunday and my church won't be open now for another 2 weeks. So I will listen to online church.
@trooworld That meal looks really good. It's going to be hot here too..I hope you stay cool though. yea on the loss and I laughed when you wrote you muffled the sound...I am saying I just wanted to shoot my neighbors. See our thought process. LOL
@TeresaW1020 I hope you enjoy church today..we are supposed to be mandatory, However we have lots that say no. it's just another division issue. I say I will wear it for the safety of others, but I don't like wearing it. It's another thing I have to wash LOL. Enjoy your podcast and puzzle. Sounds like a great Sunday to me.
@theslightedgeforever Yes I am sure she senses some of my fears. I am working hard at being relaxed. She is getting so big and into more things. LOL. Thank you for your advise about only taking care of the now.
Cbabie1 -
@teresaw1020 Just keep tweaking til you win, I say. Yes, the whole idea is for our trends to go down. I'm finally back in the green again after 4-5 months of my trendline being in the red. It was so good just to see green.
@trooworld How was your water intake? My dh would not agree with you saying I'm right as usual. lol I want to frame this and blow it up and hang it over his side of the bed so every night he would have to look at it. Although I had to go back up and read again what I was right about. lol Your food looked good enough to eat. Although I would have scraped off the sauce.
@cbabie It sounds like you are doing much better with your food intake. Keep practicing on it. You have demon dogs though.Taking care of now: It's a lesson I'm trying to learn and work on myself. Otherwise I could work myself up into a frenzy and go raid the refrigerator. I don't want to do that.

@trooworld, good grief woman! That pic of yours is NOT something I should be drooling over when I’ve been fasting for over 18 hours. I think I just felt my insulin jump!
Ohhh that is awful that you can’t run your air while it’s so hot. Maybe you would have been better off at a hotel. Sit in front of a fan and mist yourself with water. I did that once and it really helped.
@cbabie, ohhhh dear that sounds terrible that you had to deal with the dogs during the fireworks. I’m glad that you found something to calm them down. We gave Maggie Mae a half a tablet of Benadryl and it helped her so much but she was still a hot mess.
@theslightedgeforever, congrats on being back in the green!!
Hello ladies! It’s super gloomy here and we are supposed to be getting a storm soon. That’s OK because I’m home for the day. I made my grocery list for tomorrow, cleaned the kitchen, and made a pasta salad to go with the burgers we are having for dinner. Today, was week three of my hybrid workout calendar so I did triceps/back dumbbells and a Barre cardio. I also read chapter one again of the “Fast, Feast, Repeat” book for the book club I’m in. It really is very interesting how insulin works in the body and how it has to drop low enough to deplete our glycogen stores so that our bodies will tap into our fat stores for energy. Right now, I’ve been fasting for over 18 hours and I feel a little hungry but I’m telling my body to shut up and go eat some fat off my hips.Hubby just went and got me a Starbucks black iced coffee so I’m going to go listen to a fasting podcast and work my jigsaw puzzle.

Hey all. I'm going to try to start posting more regular. I think I mentioned I was having a tough time exercising. I finally told my trainer I needed a break. I think feeling like I had to meet with him, was starting to seem like pressure and work.
So I want to try to just start slow on my own and see if I can slowly get my mojo back. I feel like- you know when you're a teenager or a kid, and someone says you should do something because it's good for you? And you're like NO WAY. Arms crossed lol. I've been like that. So I hope taking a break from my trainer might help.
Want to start slow this week. Trying to do 20 mins of movement a day (not counting biking or walking). So 20 minutes of mobility, core, upper or lower body work.
So yesterday I did 20 minutes of mobility. Today 20 mins of upper body. But very light, I'm not into intense workouts right now, just want to get back into the flow of movement again and not be so resistant.
The one thing I have been doing is riding my bike a lot, so that has been some exercise.
Calories- meh. I stopped tracking, and I think I've tracked for like 2 years lol. But I'm going to focus on the movement right now and then see if I can add the tracking back in later.
@TeresaW1020 that is a great idea with the fan and mist. I do think it works. Are you still working on that crazy 40 000 jigsaw puzzle? Disney I think.
@trooworld yes the fireworks can be a pain. I guess once in a while for a holiday is one thing, but I read it has just been happening every night or every weekend in some cities in the US. ...you know I've never had eggs benedict? What is in the sauce?
@theslightedgeforever - glad you saw the green, and start trending right.
@cbabie sorry you're struggling with anxiety- stay safe it seems like things are rough there right now.
Take care all. Will try to come back tomorrow.1 -
@trooworld So just keep working towards your goal. I've been in a mini-funk due to my period. I'm just so tired this week. Don't want to do anything but sit in the AC and read. But I have bookclub this Thursday so I'm giving myself permission to do that. Yeah, I feel sorry for people with PTSD at this time of year.
@teresaw1020 Your workouts sound like they are good. Keep working on the fasting and watch that trendline go down.
@its_cleo I'm 56 and I can still do that arms crossed NO WAY thing.Sometimes being a "newbie" can give you a bit of motivation that wasn't there before. Whatever gets you to your goal is what I say. Keep enjoying your bike.

Morning all, I haven't been sleeping, walking, nothing. My little one is not sleeping. I finally went out on the couch around 2 am to get some sleep. So trying to figure out what is going on there.
@TeresaW1020 I think I would have like to have given the dogs a whole Benadryl. LOL
@theslightedgeforever Well I was doing okay. back at it again today..YES I can see your arms crossed now
@its_cleo Sounds to me like your burnt out..it's good you are listening to your body.
@trooworld So glad you got the dryers gone...You are one strong woman.
Cbabie1 -
@theslightedgeforever it's a good week to sit in AC. It is 34 C in Toronto this week- that is around 91f. I've been going out in the morning. I did go out this aft and it was pretty hot!
@trooworld I think I've had Hollandaise...I like cream based sauces. For some reason I have a hard time with the appearance with the eggs....but maybe I'll try it sometime.
@cbabie you may be right it's a little bit of burnout. I hope you can get some sleep! And the little one too.
Well today I met my goal again 20 mins of core, not much but more than I've done in a while. Very simple, front and side plank. Superman, and one leg bridge. I also went for a bike ride after work. It was nice on the trails, bc there wasn't very many people due to the heat.
Tomorrow I will try 20 mins of lower body, not sure what yet.
I'm working but it is a light workload. Struggling with a lot of anxiety so my eating habits are off bc I'm nauseous most of the time. So I'm eating but just odd things at odd times and not always healthy- yesterday I ordered a pizza for dinner and had leftovers today. But I'm also going to try to make a cucumber/tomato salad shortly.
It's funny I was so on top of all the fitness stuff for so long. I guess one thing I've learned, is like it ebbs and flows in your life, and I'm just going through a different period, and sooner or later will swing back again. I think the emotional challenges I've had are related to my low motivation with exercise. But I'm working it through. Just trying to give it all time.
Take care all.1 -
@trooworld As Yoda says, Do or do not. There is not try. Even a half-do is a do. The hollandaise sauce. That's why I said I'd scrape it off. lol I think it would be good without the lemon. I'm not a lemon lover. They have water squirt bottles with fans. They work really well to mist.
@cbabie So since you aren't moving, how is the eating? Sometimes at times like these maintaining is the best til you can move past this little speed bump. Is little one sleeping too much in the daytime? As they age they just don't need as much sleep as they did before. Is she over stimulated before bedtime or when she wakes up in the middle of the night. She might just think she's had a nap and it's play time. It's like my mil, she is this way. She'll want to eat in the middle of the night but sorry, breakfast is in the morning. She has lost all concept of time.
@its_cleo Great job on meeting your core goal. I think we are all in uncharted territory now. I think life has always ebbed and flowed like the tides but there are more higher and lowers, I'm finding.........I like cream based sauces but not hollandaise. You just gave me an idea though on how to tweak the Eggs Benedict.

@its_cleo, hey girl!! Good to see you posting and that you are doing OK. Sometimes you do have to just stop what you have been doing for so long and go in a new direction. I am working hard on learning to listen to my body and not let the tracking tell me how much to eat. Maybe that is what you are doing too.
No, I didn’t buy the 40,000 Disney puzzle. It’s over $400 and DH won’t let me have it.
I finished the 5000 piece one that he gave me. Lately, I’ve been doing 1000 piece and keeping an eye on Marketplace for some good deals on used puzzles.
@theslightedgeforever, I thought you were younger than me since you haven’t gone through menopause yet, which I did when I was 51. I’m 54 and VERY good at crossing my arms and saying NO WAY!!
@trooworld, the book club I’m doing is in a fasting group on FB. We are reading and discussing the new Gin Stephen’s book, “Fast, Feast, Repeat.” The first two chapters where she talks about all the health benefits of IF are incredible. I see all the health issues that my 77-year-old mother has and want to do whatever I can to avoid that happening to me. It’s bad enough that I have to drive her to all these doctor appointments and pick up all her pills every month.
@cbabie, what is up with that baby not sleeping? I have a girlfriend who has two little boys who were terrible sleepers, so she started giving them a melatonin gummy made for kids. Is that something you would consider trying? You both need your sleep!
Good morning! Yesterday I only fasted for a little over 19 hours. I was having a terrible headache and decided to listen to my body and eat. I will see what I can do today. I’m thinking about switching things up and eating dinner earlier. Right now we eat around 5:30 pm and if we eat around 3 pm, I think that could help me and I know it would make my mom happier. Hubby can have an evening snack if he gets hungry. Worth a try!0 -
Hi folk week 3 woo hoo got my.first 7lbs loss sticker soo happy focusing more on fruit n introducing more veggies have great week xx0

@Teresa1020 $400 is crazy for a puzzle. I couldn't remember the amount. 5000 is still a lot. I did join some swap groups on Facebook. One is a Canada-Us swap group.
I had to take my laptop in for repairs so I am on my phone.
I didn't want to exercise today but I did my 20 mins legs- lower body squat and lunge.
Hope to get my comp back Fri.
@trooworld I.love that mis pacman. I am exactly like that right now! When I get like that I go for red meat- burgers, lasagna, steak. I am all about red meat lol.
Sorry didnt xomment to all- hope to have comp back Fri0 -
@trooworld Ms. Pac Man
That's good your hubby is helping you stay accountable. So today was a speedbump back to business. Which character will you be tomorrow? I think because motivation/commitment comes and goes we need to rely on our habits. Be on autopilot.
@teresaw1020 Just keep tweaking that program. Nope, I'm still riding the GrannyFlo train. Although they have reduced the amount of train stations but the ride is longer. My mil lives with me and I know what you mean about the drs visits and the meds. Although covid has been a good reason to postpone non-emergency visits. Mine has dementia and sometimes can't figure out how to get in and out of a car which is another whole source of stress. We have to do better for our bodies. Melatonin gummies. Interesting. I was more the Dimetapp mother. lol
@dankas001 Woohoo. We're celebrating right along with you. You can do it. Shoot for that 10 lb one.
@its_cleo Good for you for exercising even if you didn't feel like it. That was me today. But I walked.

@its_cleo, I might look into puzzle swaps in my area too. I have been looking at FB Marketplace every day in the hopes of finding a good deal in my area. Do you have any weekend plans?
@theslightedgeforever, I will definitely keep tweaking. Doing it again this week. 😉 My mom is in very good health mentally and I’m really hoping that once she has her eye surgery, she will be able to drive one of our cars and take herself to the doctors. But I’m not sure if she can do it physically much longer. She gets zero activity, other than coming out of her room to eat the dinner I make her. I really worry about her complete lack of movement. Since COVID she doesn’t even come shopping with me and just sits in her recliner all day long and will not take walks. Does your MIL get much movement in her day?
@trooworld, is there a Carpenter Smurf? If you are Grumpy what dwarf is your DH?Maybe your DH needs a good bribe.
Good morning! Well, my weigh-in day has me up 1.2 lbs. Not super surprising since I overdid it on the 4th and the 5th. I also increased my weight workouts twice this week and my muscles are still crying. AND…I know that I am still eating too much once I open my window. So yesterday afternoon, I decided to tweak it up yet again. I have switched my dinner time to between 3 and 4 pm, which will allow me to fast longer the next day. I’m aiming for 20 to 22 hours and will open my window with a cup of coffee and a Quest bar. I like those and they are filling but not too filling. Then I will make dinner and close my window for the rest of the evening. I might still have a glass of wine or two on occasion, but I’m laying off of that for at least a couple of weeks. So, we will see what that does for me. Wish me luck!0 -
@TeresaW1020 that's too bad about your mother not getting any movement. I would worry about it affecting mood. Maybe she is still adjusting to the move. And then the pandemic hit on top of it. That is a lot of change all at once.
My weekend- tomorrow maybe a bike ride. Sunday having breakfast with my uncle- first time in months! I'm looking forward to it.
@trooworld some things like that- putting up the baskets- it helps to have two eyes for sure. I live alone so I've put up some crooked pictures I think lol. I think you mentioned you like horror movies? Or did I imagine that? I just watched The Wolf Man from 1941 with Lon Chaney. It was the second werewolf movie ever made. Bela Lugosi had a small part. It was ok, interesting.
@theslightedgeforever I like your new method of keeping track with the smily faces and halos.
Well yesterday and today I didn't do much activity. Today was my mobility day and I did maybe half of it. So tomorrow I'm trying to increase my time to 30 mins, and I'll do part mobility, and part upper body. This is just at home, my gym is closed still. Also as I said, will do another long bike ride tomorrow morning. On the weekends they've been closing one of the very busy streets here to cars and it's for bikes only. I went last weekend and it was pretty fun riding along a road that normally would be wall to wall traffic.
Brunch with my uncle as I said, Sunday.
Other than that puttering around. I got my computer back. This laptop has been a pain. I just spent a fortune to have a new internal disk drive installed, so I better get three more years out of it lol. I hate the fact that they build technology to fail in like 3 yrs.
Take care all.0 -
@trooworld How was your water intake today? I got mine in. I need to learn how to drill. Mine is going to retire next year but I'm sure he'll still find some reason he's just too busy. My fantasy is some nice fix it man that comes and does all my stuff. One phone call away.
@teresaw1020 You will figure out a good way of eating that fits your lifestyle. You are describing my mil movement. If I didn't force her to walk the perimeter of our house three times a day, she wouldn't. But it's keeping her mobile. She has to use a walker. Otherwise she goes from her room to the chair in the living room and back to her room. I also make her do chair exercises three times a day. I sound like a tormenter, but it takes 5 minutes to do those. Just weightless bicep curls, windmills, straightening the legs at the knees. The PT gave me these exercises for her to do at home. She said just to keep the blood circulating and all. Before the only time she left the house was to go to the doc but she hasn't been out in 4 months. Almost me neither. lol I just ride in the car. The good news is that she is almost off of insulin. When she came to live with me 5 years ago she was taking 56 units per day and now she is at 20.
@its_cleo That's really neat about them closing the road to cars so bikes can go down it. People in other countries seem to walk or bike alot more than we do. You sound so much more upbeat. Enjoy your brunch. I hear you on the laptop. I'm holding together mine with a small file clip. I bought one that can be a laptop or folds into a tablet. Well one of the hinges suddenly broke and it was causing the screen to buckle a bit. Dh had the idea to just hold it together with a clip. It works. Now if I can keep my Fitbit working a bit longer. I just had to replace my phone.

Morning all, I am sorry that I have been MIA.. This week was horrible in the area of depression. It hit me hard on Sunday or Monday, can't remember. I haven't been that low in forever. I am way better and I can tell you I didn't eat the best or exercise or anything...but I did get a good walk in today. Trying AGAIN to get it together. I am 12 lbs over what I want to be. So have to start dwindling that down.
@trooworld Yea for the loss, you are so in your groove again. Everything is above my height...LOL
@theslightedgeforever that's great about your MIL..too bad you couldn't have done that for Dad..LOL
@TeresaW1020 You will get this, it's all about finding what works for you. The fact that you try every day says so much for you!!! Thank you that you care enough about yourself to keep tweaking your plans. I swear if I didn't hae a little one at home, my DH wouldn't do anything but sit at his computer, tv or outside smoking..LOL
@its_cleo Yea I am with you on the technology. I am one of those people who still has a couch I have had for over 10 years..so you know how I hate to buy things twice.

@cbabie Dad: Well, you are back here now which is a good thing. Baby step. So what will be your next baby step? Success comes from the teeny choices as well as the big ones. Then I would have had to live with him for 5 years. lol There are advantages to having Alzheimers. Much more agreeable for the most part. I was just thinking about your dh. Maybe this was how he envisioned his golden years after working so much when he was younger. Yes, I know it's not healthy I have the exact version of him living in my house. @its_cleo, I hope you enjoy your time with your uncle.
That is great that your city has given the bike riders a place to ride by closing the street. Were there many people our riding? Glad you got your laptop back but I hear you about technology not lasting very long. DH just had to take his computer in for a repair and it’s only a couple of years old.
@theslightedgeforever, I’m glad you are able to get your MIL in to move. My mom is so stubborn and will tell you she is going to do something but then she does exactly what she wants to do. She is wanting to get out and go shopping so we might do that this week. I feel if we go early enough there won’t be a lot of people out and about so she should be safe.
@trooworld, girl I am jealous of your awesome weight loss!! Good for you! I am getting frustrated with the scale not moving but figure it’s best to just keep at it and it will happen eventually. Right!?
@cbabie, so sorry that you have been struggling with depression. I’m glad that you are feeling better.
Good morning! Today is a busy day. We have church this morning and of course, everyone is praying that the sound issues we have been having will be fixed. It’s been very frustrating! Sometime this afternoon I’m going to meet a lady who is selling me two really nice puzzles for $10. I’m loving that I discovered Facebook Marketplace! This evening DH and I are going over to some friends for dinner. I am really looking forward to it!Tomorrow, I am going to attempt my first all day fast. They call it Mealless Monday. Wish me luck!!

@theslightedgeforever Hey you made your water goal! That's huge. Is it any easier in the summer because of the heat? .....good idea with the clip for your laptop. Mine hinges too but so far that's the only part that hasn't broken. ,....the bike thing. It was pretty new. They only did it because when the pandemic hit and everything was shut down- like April and May- people went crazy for bikes, and trying to find space to bike. So it was good the city listened and made some changes.
@trooworld I like barbecue hot dogs, man I miss them. I could go for a hot dog right now lol. Normally my father has a barbecue every year, but not this year I don't think. ....so glad about the shower! When will your bathroom be done?
@cbabie I would totally keep a couch ten years. Except I bought a sofa and loveseat set a couple of years ago and I don't like it lol. So now I'm dying to get rid of it and buy another set. So I'm forcing myself to keep it a while. But my bed is like 15 years old. My mattress. But I bought it brand new and it seems fine. ....I'm sorry you're struggling with depression. I know it's not fun.
@TeresaW1020 good luck with the puzzles. What kind are they? I am like a total puzzle nerd now lol. I have been looking at different brands etc. Just looking! I think I have too much time on my hands lol. I hope you have some luck with the fasting. And good luck with the sound. Issues like that are awful when you're counting on it to work.
Brunch was nice today, it was just nice to get out. It wasn't too hot. It was nice to see my uncle. Normally we would go to some ball games so of course we've been missing that.
So my 30 minutes of movement/exercise- yesterday was a real struggle I maybe did 20 mins?
Today I did better I think, 30 minutes of light core and some mobility stuff. It was really hard to start but once I did I started to feel motivated again- the old feeling of like I want to be strong. Haven't felt that in a while. So it was nice. Tomorrow I will try 30 mins of lower body- squats and stuff. Just bodyweight.
Also I stopped tracking for a week or two, today for the first time I started to feel a little motivated to track again.
I was going to go out for an ice cream this aft but I went for a quick bike ride instead.
So maybe my plan to pull back a bit and take a break is helping.
Take care all.

Afternoon all, I didn't get on the treadmill today, unexpected text messages..LOL. Our church isn't open until end of July as we are a hot spot. So they closed down until then. I missed the online service so I have to wait until the replay is available.
@TeresaW1020 I love that you are working all those puzzles. I have a few years before I could do that...I think little fingers my grab a few off the table lol. I hope your Sunday went great! I am sure it's good to have real live services again...soon here.
@trooworld Thank you for your comments. Well I am not real short, my mom was 5'2" if she stretched. I used to be 5"4, but have shrunk. Just everyone except baby and my oldest daughter are taller than me..I have a 6'3 tall grandson, last we checked. I don't really know how tall he is now. I don't know what I would do without a shower. When I had to take a bath when I broke my wrist...I hated it. Can't imagine having my bathroom under construction. Hope they hurry up already..LOL
@theslightedgeforever not sure what my next step is..I need to get this one in place as a routine..these days I can seem to handle one thing at a time. My DH will never exercise. That stopped when the honeymoon was over...LOL But he always had a physical job until he worked at the city...:)

Morning, Well I didn't get my walk in this morning. Baby woke up crying as I was going to get on the treadmill, had to rock her and hold her and cuddle..LOL. Oh well will try later, NOT it's too hot in the afternoon

Hi all, sorry I have been gone so long! Dd came back from OK & was on vacation for 2 weeks, so we were doing more with the kids. She left yesterday again for OK. Still working from home, but had Dr appts she needed to keep. Had planned to take the gkids with her, but really hesitant about sending them to daycamp, so Dh said as long as they have been here, they might as well stay a little longer. So we will have them approx 2 1/2 weeks more, unless they start getting moody, lol. They have been here 7 weeks, so I think both are missing Daddy, too, so we will have to see how it goes. We do things about everyother day with dd & kids here.
This am dd(here) wondered what to do..the dog was acting strange, so she moved the step & saw a critter in there. After calling around & getting an outrageous quote for someone to get it out, dh went over & they managed to get it out & hopefully it is gone for good. It was a half grown possum!
I have read all the posts, but don't think I remember everything, so won't be able to do a lot of personals. Please know I am thinking about all of you & hoping things are going well. I am kind of in limbo right now. Eating too much, but am moving some. I love having dd & gkids here, but kind of miss "my life", boring as it is, lol.
@TeresaW1020 I laughed about the Melatonin gummies. Gd likes to stay up to read, so dd got some of those. It worked for a few nights by telling her they were a vitamin, but I think she realized she was sleeping more, so now refuses to take them. (she is 11) Hope you can get a good routine figured out, not sure how you can do such a long fast!!
@its_cleo That is neat that they closed the street so people have a place to ride. There are a lot of bike trails around here, I really should get mine out. Gs got a bike for Christmas 1 1/2yrs ago & refused to ride it because it didn't have training wheels. His old one had them, but dd decided he was too big for it & sold it. When they came here, she got training wheels for the new one & they only lasted about 3-4 days before they were bending because he is so big (9 1/2). Anyway, less than a week & he is "going like the wind" on his bike without the training wheels. So we accomplished something this summer!!
@trooworld Congrats on the 21# loss!! That is fabulous! Hope your bathroom gets done soon!
@cbabie I hate buying stuff also..our couch is a hand me down from dd when they got a sectional, so it is 16 yrs old. But I like it & it is in good shape, so why get new. We did buy a futon from Wayfair, tho, so we had separate beds this summer for the gkids. We needed another place to sit down in the family room, anyway.
We are about the same height..I was always 5-3 1/2, but sure I have probably shrunk. Dh is 6"3". My mom always said she was 4-10, but when she died, she was way shorter than that! One gd is already about 5-4 (she's 13) and her brother is 10 & already about 5-1. Other gd is not quite 5ft. (the 11 yr old) & her brother is almost as tall as her. She worries about being so short.
@theslightedgeforever Glad you are sticking to your plan more. I need to start a baby step of more water!!
We have had snap peas, strawberries, green beans & 1 zucchini out of garden so far. Lots more zucchini starting & lots of tomatoes. We went out to the pumpkin patch. Not looking good out there, even tho we thought they were getting lots of rain, it was still very dry!
Covid cases here are increasing also..Iowa made NY's don't enter list, lol. I read an interesting thing that as long as the deaths are going down, we are doing better. Hope that is true..we need it!
Well, gkids have been holed up in the basement family room all day, better go see what they are up to. Dd is having a sinus ct scan today to try to figure out what has been bothering him all spring. Hope they get it figured out.

@trooworld, how long before the bathroom is done? We did a renovation a few years ago in our other house while living in it so I know what a pain that can be. Ugghhh I heard about your heat wave. We are in the 90’s all week here. Sure makes you thankful for some A/C!
I probably won’t ever go back to three meals a day on a consistent basis but I definitely believe in switching it up, which is why I did the all-day-fast. I just had some toast and it’s not even 8:30 am yet.
@its_cleo, glad that you had a nice brunch with your uncle. Is there any talk about baseball coming back in your area? Sounds like you are getting your exercise mojo back in action. One puzzle is a 1000-piece lake and cabin scene and the other is a 1500-piece water, boats, and building scene. I’m doing the 1500 piece one right now.
@cbabie, I sure hope you are able to reopen your church. I sure didn’t appreciate mine enough until I didn’t have it. Baby cuddles have to come first.
@RetiredAndLovingIt, so glad that you are still having a good time with your family. Sooo will you be happy to have your house back or will you miss having the kids around every day? I can imagine it will be a bit of both, huh? No fooling an 11-year old!
Good morning!! Well, I did it! I went 35 ½ hours without eating. All I had was black coffee, plain seltzer, and decaf green tea. It’s interesting because hunger really doesn’t build. It comes in waves and as long as I just pushed through the hungry feeling, I was fine. I did have a slight headache most of the evening and woke up with it. The scale was down this morning but it was up from Sunday nights dinner out so I will have to see what the Friday average will give me. The key is to not overeat today but to make sure I eat enough to balance yesterday. I’m off now to do my workout and then go to the grocery store. It’s going to be 93 degrees here today!!

Hi all..have a few minutes. Not too much going on to report tho.
@TeresaW1020 Wow....35 hrs..I could not do that!! That takes willpower! Re the gkids: It will be a little of both. They usually stay with us for 2-3 weeks in the summer & seems so quiet around here when they are gone.
@Trooworld Not sure about the “good grandparents” part, but at least they know us. The grandparents on dad’s side do not make any effort to see them & then she got upset that the kids recognize my voice on the phone. Dh just says, oh well...their loss. (Too be fair..they live in GA...so about 1100 miles away), but that would not stop me from seeing them! Even when dd lived in Atlanta (900 miles from us..we would drive there at least twice a year for gkids birthdays...and sometimes more, lol). So glad they are in OK now...only 400 miles, lol.
Well, think I will go see if the gkids want to do something..dh has had a long enough nap, lol.
Have a great day all!0 -
@trooworld the hot dogs- well I like them barbecued and I guess I just dont go to many barbecues any more. I have no social life lol....that's a pain about the bathroom. Are gyms open in your city? We lost water for 24 hours once and I was like well I can always shower at the gym if I have to.
@RetiredAndLovingIt sounds like you're having a nice summer...a possum wow! Glad you were able to get rid of it without too much trouble. Hopefully he found another home. -- So glad about your Gs on the bike! I remember being a kid and one summer my big worries were learning how to ride a bike and swim. I still remember getting used to the bike without training wheels.
@TeresaW1020 funny you should ask about baseball, I was just watching a training game. I don't know how much you've been following it but MLB is supposed to start end of next week. But the poor Toronto Blue Jays don't have a home yet. Because we have a quarantine law here, and everyone coming into the country right now from outside must quarantine for 14 days. So it probably won't work for the Jays and other teams to be flying in and out. So I don't know what's going to happen. I'm a little annoyed MLB didn't have a plan. I don't think they care much about us bc it's a Canadian team.
Anyway.......those puzzles sound nice! I have 3 I got at a second hand store and 4 I bought new- I splurged lol. I am very slow so that will probably keep me going to the end of the year so I won't buy any more.
@trooworld- Yay on the spin bike! Something is better than nothing.
Went for a bike ride today, did 15 mins of mobility. Was supposed to do 30 but 15 is better than nothing. I tracked my food for like a day and was like- I don't wanna. Lol. So I'm just leaving it.
I don't think my gym will be open until August. It's kind of weird though I don't miss it anymore. I'm not even sure I will go if it opens. Not bc I'm scared, but just I don't know if I'm into it.
Take care all0
