@cbabie. Do they have an essential oil for weight loss? Lol Actually it would have to be something that makes you put down the spoon. That would be neat though. Dh is used to me eating the cookie and then eating some more. Had I had the calories left, I would have eaten it. But I had already eaten my snack calories for the day.

@prisoner2food Laundry seems to pile up doesn’t it. You are doing really good staying on track. My goal is to drink more water too.

@TrishasTime Yes back on plan. Knock on wood. I followed my plan at bookclub.

@prisoner2food The pics are so cute. My favorite is the one of them two facing each other.

@TeresaW1020 Ah, I spoke too soon. Migraine still there. :( It does stink! I hope the party goes well.

@prisoner2food woo hoo to healthy babies, congrats! The babies are beautiful.

@TrishasTime Here in SoCal, we got a lot of rain yesterday too, flash flooding...

@theslightedgeforever I spoke too soon. Migraine came back. :( I'm glad you are feeling better!

@cbabie maybe I'll make one myself. Here are two recipes, can you look at them and tell me which one might be better?

    https://helloglow.co/essential-oil-headache-roll-on/

Crap, I gotta get ready, I'll come back on and finish this later.

@trooworld I would use the first one. The oils I use are a little different...but the first one sounds good. I use young living oils and just love them.

    Morning everyone

@trooworld - I remember you suffering from migraines about this time last year. Do you get them all the time or are they seasonal? I do hope you can get rid of it soon

@theslightedgeforever - well done on following your plan.

I have been out for a walk with my older dog. Got it in early as although it says it is going to be 27C, it feels so much hotter.

    Good morning everyone!

@TrishaTime, I don't know if we pair everything with cheese but we are definitely a cheese-loving people! :D The Blue Cheese Dijon is good! I put it on my turkey burger the other night. :) Yikes, your weather is getting intense! Heat and hail storms sound like your in the thick of summer down there. Be careful and stay hydrated when you are walking your dogs. And I hope that DH of yours gets the painting done so you can get things back in order.

@trooworld, so sorry that you are still having migraines!! I had no idea what it meant when you all talked about using oils other than a vague understanding that they are essential oils and I assumed the different scents did different things. I looked at your links. Very interesting! I usually just pop as much Ibuprofen as I can until I'm better. Never thought about oils as an alternative. I do use Blue Emu oil on my knees for joint paint and I really think it has been helping. Your migraines do sound seasonal. I hope you are better soon!! <3

@prisoner2food, those babies are precious!! Congrats to the family! Double the work but also double the blessings. :)

@theslightedgeforever, sounds like your rocking your plan! B)

So, last night was my Christmas party and it was a huge hit and everyone loved the food, games, and fellowship. It really helps that we are a group of people that truly love and like each other. But I must come clean and tell you I so overdid with all the food and drinks. My weight is up big time! My husband just told me that he hasn't seen my face this puffy in a really long time. Uggghhh!! :s I had multiple glasses of punch, 2 glasses of eggnog, cake, cookies, and all the other appetizers added up to me feeling like crap. It's JUST like I have a massive hangover from drinking too much alcohol. Same effects. Anyway most of the junk is gone and what I do have will only be eaten in small quantities and the points/calories will be counted. I've got three days to try to get the weight back off before weigh-in. Water...water...water!!!

What do you all think about coconut oil? I was reading that it is really good for you and good for weight loss. I had bought a jar of organic virgin coconut oil to cook with but hubby doesn't like the flavor. I love it and I was reading that people will eat a spoon or two of it every day and it's supposed to help with weight loss. What do you all think about that? Anyone do it?

@cbabie thank you! I already have a bunch of oils, I don't remember the brand, but I'll keep young living oils in mind the next time I need them.

@TrishasTime They are caused by changes in the barometric pressure, so it varies when they come. I had a break from them yesterday but it seems to be back today a bit.

@TeresaW1020 I've never tried the oils for my migraines but cbabie has and it works for her, so I thought I might try it. Prescription medications don't seem to help much. :( Congrats on a successful party! I'm sorry that you overdid it. I think you have the right idea by drinking a lot of water...try adding lemon and cucumber slices along with mint to the water, it is supposed to help reduce bloat. I've found that to be true. ;) As far as coconut oil goes, I talked to a registered dietician who says that it's okay to use it in moderation, but it does have saturated fat in it, so not to use it all the time. I've personally never eaten it by the spoonful. :P

Hi all! Well, yesterday was a good day as far as the migraine was concerned, no migraine, but today feels like it is going to be a bad day. I need to find time to go to the herb store to see if I can buy the stuff to make a roller thingy today, if not, I will order the stuff online.

    Good morning everyone

@TeresaW2010 - I have never heard of coconut oil as being weight loss. You are probably bloating from all the sugar etc that your body is no longer used to processing. So yes I agree - water, water, water.

@trooworld - My sister had migraines and she uses oils as nothing else helped her including very strong pain medication. My comment is go for it - what do you have to lose? My only comment is to make sure you use pure oils and not watered down ones.

I have been put on some medication that one of the side affects could be constipation, so I have been throwing down the water and funny enough - I do feel much better for it.

I am off to the state basketball game today, so I need to be prepared and strong like @theslightedgeforever and stick to my plan

    Take care

@trooworld Ouch on the recurring headache. Try the oils and see if that works.

@cbabie. Did you find time to exercise today?

@TrishasTime I’m following my plan for the most part. There have been some substitutes but I’ve stayed within calories The family wanted to go out for ice cream so I got a half cup of the no sugar added caramel truffle. I’m trying to use a balanced approach this time so I can see if I can do it longer than 3 weeks. I need forever. Exercise needs to be more intense this week plus more water.

@TeresaW1020 Cheese makes the world go round. My mom used to use Blue Emu cream So look back at your party and journal what you could have done differently. Were you standing next to the food table. Were you thinking I worked hard on this party I deserve to enjoy myself. Whatever it is write it down. Also copy paste what you just wrote to us. So next year’s Christmas party you can go back and read and do it a bit different. Maybe 1 glass of punch. 1 eggnog. 1 cookie That right there would be progress. How about a sugar free punch option. I know people are putting a spoon of oil in their coffee 🤢. It’s supposed to be an appetite suppressant. So maybe they snack less because they feel fuller. I guess try the oil and see if it works. They say that Apple Cider Vinegar also helps you lose weight. I haven’t found that to be true. I still think it comes down to less calories more movement

I see some great ideas posted here. Great job with meal planning, planning for parties, and limiting oneself to a single piece of chocolate. Give yourself a pat on the back!
Helping with newborns and chasing a toddler mean my arms are never empty and no time to reach for food.
    Keep in pushing forward

@TrishasTime That's good to hear a second voice saying that oils worked for someone's headaches. Actually, a third: my best friend said she rubs peppermint oil on her temples when she gets headaches and I tried that last night along with putting some oils in my diffuser and that seemed to help. My oils are 100% pure, not diluted, so that is good! Have fun at the game!!!

@theslightedgeforever Yep, it came back. I agree, cheese makes the world go round. I WOULD put cheese on everything!

Hi all. My head feels better today. @cbabie, I had all the oils I needed to make the rollerball for my headache in my starter kit, so all I needed to order was the bottles and the carrier oil so yay! I'm doing meal prep today. This is what I am making, in case anyone needs any ideas:

Sheet Pan Ginger Soy Glazed Salmon + steamed broccoli + cauliflower "rice"
    BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad
FUN FOOD: Instant Pot Mississippi Roast + roasted potatoes
Roasted Sweet Potato, Pear & Pomegranate Spinach Salad (I made this last week and loved it) + grilled chicken breasts
    Slow Cooker Vegetarian Lentil Chili
    For breakfast:
Instant Pot Barley: A Savory Breakfast

@prisoner2food Chasing toddlers also gives you some built in exercise. I’m sure your daughter appreciates all your help.

@trooworld Your recipes look good as usual. I hope you get relief from your headaches

I did well at dinner by not going back for seconds. I really wanted to. I’m struggling getting back into exercise habit. I did good for a week and then I got sick so starting up again is hard. I’m fine once I get going.

@theslightedgeforever Thanks. The peppermint oil seemed to help for now, so I have hope. Great job, not going back for seconds! I used to always go back for seconds, now I rarely do. I'd say that's progress. How are you feeling? Are you 100% better now?

Hi all. Noom isn't working out for me, it's partially my fault and partially theirs. I'll start with theirs: I have a "goal specialist" that is supposed to be in contact with me once a week or more and set goals with me and generally check up on me. Well, mine stinks. She'll ask me questions that require a follow up and then I'll answer her right away and then I won't hear from her for another 7 days and it will be her asking something totally different, she won't even respond to what I said. It's as if she doesn't care at all about me or my success. That's Noom's part that it isn't working for me. Now, my part: I haven't read the daily articles or tracked in about two weeks. That's a problem because the articles take about 15 minutes to read each day, so I'm way behind and don't know if I can catch up and they kind of build off each other. I think at this point, I'm going to abandon ship and just track in MFP. On Saturday, I did write Noom an email asking for another goal specialist, but considering how behind I am on the articles, I don't know how much good that would do me.

@theslightedgeforever no on the exercise, but my DD and GD took my GGD for a walk yesterday around the neighborhood and I got in my 10K yesterday...one day at a time. Today we go for the 4 month check up...she rolled over yesterday for the first time..LOL

@trooworld Sorry that Noom isn't working for you...what are the oils you are using? I had to use clove on a family members toothache..it took agony before they would do it...it works, but with oils you have to keep using them...they wear off soon than the man made chemicals..

@prisoner2food the twins are so precious. Great job on pushing forward. Remember to take care of you too! I speak from experience..LOL

@TrishasTime yes water seems to be the key..I love that you use oils too!!

@trooworld Yes 100% better now. If you stick with Noom is there no way to start where you are instead of trying to catch up. Just read an article a day. Read a little bit while sitting on the toilet. Lol. You don’t have to finish the article all at once

@cbabie That’s great on the 10k steps. Wow 4 months already. I always liked the age 4-6 months.

I did a 30 min walk. That’s progress. Met with some friends and stayed within my food boundaries.

Dang. Drank too much rye and put me over my calories for the day.
Home for a couple days to babysit sons dogs while he is out of town. Going to other grandkids school on wed for grandparents day. Hope to finish Christmas shopping and house cleaning tomorrow so hopefully a bit of exercise. I have looked at Noon but always talk myself out of it as I have spent sooooo much $$$$ over the years in weight loss and don’t want to spend any more
    Keep moving forward

@cbabie Right now, I'm just using peppermint oil but I am going to use the oils that were in that first article (peppermint, eucalyptus, lavender and rosemary...I have all of those).

@theslightedgeforever If I wanted to spend like 6 hours reading a bunch of stuff I could but I'm quite sour on it all so no, I'd rather lose my money and work with MFP. The problem is that there is 15 minutes more each day and it builds on the previous day, so unless you are caught up, you are continually behind. I'm glad you are feeling better.

@prisonder2food Noom isn't for everyone and apparently, it isn't for me. :)

Hi all. Day 2 of MFP. I went over my cals yesterday but not by much. I hope today will be better.

    Hello Ladies!

@theslightedgeforever, you are so right that I NEED to remember what I wrote and pull it out when the need to eat all the things hits me again. I learned years ago not to drink alcohol to excess because I didn't like the results. I don't drink caffeine in after 2 pm because I like to sleep. I just need to get it in my thick skull when it comes to overeating junk that it's NOT worth it! :/ I did an MFP search on coconut oil and they seem to think that the claims for weight loss are bogus. I did try to put some in my coffee and it was soooo gross!! :D

@trooworld, I think you are right to cut your losses with Noom. If it isn't working for you have to find something else that will work. Just sucks that you had to lose money but haven't we all wasted money over the years trying to find what works for us. :# MFP will work! Go over to the success page and see how well it works for so many. I find that very motivating. :)

Well, I was in shock this morning that I lost .06 lbs for the week. :o Just goes to show that you can blow your diet but if you get right back on you can reverse the damage. I think part of my issues for years and years is that one binge would so often turn into a week, month, and even longer before I would begin again. This time I was right back on Saturday. That feels pretty good!!

I went Christmas shopping this morning for my husband and a few friends and then went and did grocery shopping. I got done and noticed that my throat was slightly hurting. I really hope I'm NOT getting sick!!! I don't have time for that. :s

@TeresaW1020 Yeah, I've paid for things for years and not lost weight on them, so I'm not worried about wasting money lol. Congrats on the loss!!! That's a good lesson. I really hope you aren't getting sick.

Hi all. I did pretty well yesterday despite some work stress. I ended the day with 200 cals to spare. Unlike Teresa, I've done next to no Christmas shopping I need to get it into gear!!!

@theslightedgeforever Good job on staying in your food boundaries...didn't like the 4 month shot day...ugh..

@trooworld You got this..no matter what program you follow it really is about what we put in our mouth and how much of it we put in...I am beginning to see it's like a budget...you can spend your whole paycheck and wonder where it went or you can track every penny and have something to show for your hard work..

@prisoner2food I used to always love grandparents day...hope you had fun

@TeresaW1020 congrats on the weight loss. Glad you got your shopping going...me not so much. Not really interested this year...so different for me.
