Good work but I could post my results and say " After dirty eating AND working out...91lb loss"
How is this dirty eating??? CLEAN EATING TO ME is fruits veggies and lean meat. Yes I cheat and have a processed protein bar and chips but I limit myself to ONE serving otherwise I would totally binge. It's clean eating to me.0 -

I think I love you.0 -
wow nice results! processed foods make you body hold on to far too many toxins!
I don't understand all the hate for "processed" foods. One aspect of processing foods is making them safe for human consumption, i.e. cooking. Unless you're eating all your meats and vegtables raw, you're eating "processed" foods.0 -

congrats on your loss, you look great. :flowerforyou:0

I feel like I can say CLEAN EATING because it is 90% clean what I eat.0

Good for you! Judging by your typical day you gave an example of it looks like calorie restriction (very restrictive at that) was the main benifactor of your slim down.wow nice results! processed foods make you body hold on to far too many toxins!
And please keep in mind statements like this are in no way true. Carry on!0 -
Good Job!! I'd like to try this.. do you have any suggestions of where you can find a diet or blog about it? do you find your getting enough protein ?0

Probably:
Eating more healthful food, such as veggies, fills you up more. So, less snacking and less cravings. So, the deficit was easier to maintain.
That's my guess.
THANK YOU yes I think thats what happend....there is no way I could maintain my calories with a bag of cheetos and not feel full and that is where I was...0 -
Although Im not one for super clean eating.....good job kid. You did what you had to do and it worked for you0

Hello, You must know that I dont lift. I only do cardio which focuses on burning fat. However, if I wee to start I would probably up my protein intake such as instead of 2 hard boiled eggs maybe 4 or maybe another cup of kale since that has more protein as well. You could also probably do another chicken breast but work other calories around that...Just lean ways to get protein. I only do the luna bar because it is what keeps me from hunting for sugar cookies or icecream....its better than those for sure0 -
For me, eating "clean" aka fresh, organic, natural or minimally-processed foods reduces my cravings. I'm not an extremist, but I do believe that our bodies were not designed to metabolize chemicals & additives & artificial enhancers.0

after clean eating AND working out ...13lb loss
You look great so congrats to you.
Now, one a real note, I'm gonna say the fact that you ate what basically amounts to my dinner calorie wise and then worked out is why you lost weight. Eating less processed food may have made you feel fuller longer, which is why eating a cup of kale, berries, and a banana didn't drive you to drink but that doesn't make your method superior to my method of 1825 calories with the occasional slice of cake or pop tart or ice cream or Bacon Pretzel Burger or...
Oh, bacon pretzel burger.0 -
first of all, congrats. secondly, you're just eating much more healthy consciously now, which is great. sometimes you don't want to have meat or fish or chicken for dinner....but do you just have fruit every night for dinner? anyway. i don't like all this clean vs. dirty. it's what's nutritious and you can cheat sometimes as long as you're eating at a deficit, incorporating the building of muscle mass and loss of fat. i know all this in theory and struggle to lose weight so at least you, OP, have actually lost! but i think you can eat more and still lose...0

I feel like I can say CLEAN EATING because it is 90% clean what I eat.
I think the problem is the term "Clean Eating" IMO suggesting that what everyone else eats on this site is Dirty? Congrats on your loss but I have yet to hear of more than one person ever agree what CLEAN EATING even is?0 -

Fixed it for you.0 -
You look amazing. My diet is like yours in that I have my treat - a latte - every day and then I try to keep everything else as unprocessed as possible. My ratio is much lower than yours, I'm probably eating about 60 per cent clean. Thank you for sharing.0

And how do you know eating in a caloric deficit with "non clean" foods AND working out wouldn't produce the same results?
Great job on your progress either way.
aaaaand this correlation doesnt mean causation....
I would know because I have miserably failed in the past by trying that so I am trying something different and this time it is working. It is a learning journey for me I am still learning what foods I should eat how much what foods I should not....but I've also been really sticking to this unlike last times where I just lied to myself and typed in a different amount then what I was eating.
oh so it was just inaccurate cal counting in the past. so your title should read....
Accurate Cal Counting DOES make a difference you should probably delete this post. Or edit it if you can.0 -
So I took a look at the diary.
I think plenty of the "clean" eaters would disagree with mayonnaise, Pop Chips, Luna Bars, yogurt-covered pretzels, canned olives, Cheetos, Cheerios, turkey sausage, and animal crackers being clean.
I am NOT trying to say these are bad items. It looks like you eat a very nice, well-rounded diet. Not 100% 'clean,' though. More like 80/20.0 -

this is true. I am experiencing this for sure. But my original weight I was border line overweight and was already running so it just works for me that I focus on my diet being healthy because of the fact that I was so bad before...
The way that I think about it which has helped me is that I dont feel as full when I go to the junk food that I can so easily get my hands on. Yes it takes time to prepare chicken, prepare steamed broccoli, prepare smoothies, but I find that I feel fuller and no maybe not satisfied but I definitely don't feel like I am starving0 -

Congrats on your hard work,...you look great!
But,...as far as "clean eating" being the *key* to your success,...well, it's great that this has helped you to stay on track, but it wasn't WHAT you ate, but how MUCH you ate, and then logging it accurately and consistently.
Reading your own words,...the difference for you this time around was YOU, plain and simple,...not the type of foods you ate.
Be well.

What? No. While processed food may put more toxins in your body, only a medical disorder would make your body hold on to them.0 -
