Clean Eating DOES make a difference

First of all, Great job OP.
But....and yes...I'm going to have to shake my head at the title of the thread.
Is eating better nutritionally good for you? Of course. But, doing so didn't MAKE you lose the weight. You did that because you finally made a commitment to quit lying to yourself about your intake, log accurately, become more conscious of your eating portion/nutritionally/calorie wise and you followed through.
People are upset NOT because they are against "healthy" eating..they just don't like how it has been turned into a fad and seen as the method for automatic success...which is how it came off when you presented your results...especially the title. it was very...'Come at me, bro".
So congratulations OP, NOT on changing what you ate, but rather on finding what was working for you and sticking with it...as well as being honest with yourself.
ETA: Also, if you are going to be presenting what your typical day looks like, include all the snacks you said you were having after the fact. Otherwise your day looks like you went through extreme measures to lose the weight.0 -
god people are ****ing ****s on here
Look, if you're intellectually dishonest and try to misrepresent the truth, you can expect to be called out, repeatedly, by many people.
That's life. If you can't handle that, you can put all the intellectually honest people on ignore.0 -
Actually it does look good...I was imagining a big pretzel (hard or soft) on a burger with ketchup, cheese and pickles falling out everywhere...How many calories?
All of them. (aka 680, as others have said) And worth every one.0 -

Congratulations on your outstanding achievement!
QFT. I mean, really? Who cares if she has the lingo right or wrong? Even if she was eating 100 % "clean" every single IIFYMer would make her define "clean" and start throwing articles on chemicals around and telling her to wash her food. There's no winning unless you make a post saying "I ate poptarts all day everyday and lost weight. yahoo!"
No, we would just point out that her thread title is intentionally deceptive and "eating clean" is not the reason for her success.
Accurately logging and working out are the reasons for her success.0 -
after clean eating AND working out ...13lb loss
You look great so congrats to you.
Now, one a real note, I'm gonna say the fact that you ate what basically amounts to my dinner calorie wise and then worked out is why you lost weight. Eating less processed food may have made you feel fuller longer, which is why eating a cup of kale, berries, and a banana didn't drive you to drink but that doesn't make your method superior to my method of 1825 calories with the occasional slice of cake or pop tart or ice cream or Bacon Pretzel Burger or...
Oh, bacon pretzel burger.
Are we talking the New Pretzel burger @ Wendy's??? It is on my list to try this weekend.... Looks So Good!!! :drinker:
First: I am referring to the burger at Wendy's. It's a burger patty on a pretzel roll bun with your typical veggies (if you're down with that) cheese, and a sweet mustard sauce. It was amazeballs. Some things look good and don't live up to the hype but this! I ate that sucker and then curled up around my pillow and slept the sleep of the truly content. The bread was so nice; a nice crisp outside and then a chewy fluffy inside. So good.
680 calories.........0 -

you did great it works for you pay no attention to the negativity
It isn't negativity...
...it's clarification of an ambiguity.
Without it, people might be led to believe that OP was successful because she eschewed all "dirty" food and stuck to a strict regimen of only "clean" foods...
...which would be inaccurate. When others tried it and did not have the same results, they would be disappointed and potentially go back to their "EAT ALL TEH FOODZ!!1!eleven!1" ways...
...and that would be unfortunate...and tragic...or at least slightly sad.0 -
Again people, this isn't the place to go and nitpick her diary or how she lost her weight. She is trying to celebrate her success and it is very douchy to detract from that and try to call her out.
Truth. So what if OP believes it's her clean eating that made a difference? I highly doubt that her intent was to intentionally deceive others. Who cares how she worded the title? This isn't a shake o thread. It's not a "my way is the only way thread". It's not a HcG thread. Give the girl a break...sweet jeebus.0 -

I have a feeling that you don't fully understand how this general forum thing works.
It's okay. You'll catch on.
Here's a clue: there are more people reading this than just the individuals responding and the OP. And like I said before, words matter.0 -

Me too, actually. I ate it before I logged it (So I wouldn't talk myself out of eating it) and was surprised. I was still over for the day but I knew that was going down when I order it with fries and a frosty, but not nearly as over as I'd expected.0 -

No....... you say good job OP but also consider the fact that you are now exercising and eating at a restrictive calorie deficit and this may have also attributed to your weight loss and by being that objective voice of reason, some new person clicking on this thread that may think all they have to do is do things the way of the OP will also see some objective remarks and gain more than just one perspective........0 -

Intentional or not she is misleading people and rather then allow the spread of stupidity these fine people want to educate some unfortunate soul who is actually looking for the right way to lose weight. Its not JUST OP thats reading this, i myself would have and had been lead astray by people like this so for the sake of education get over it.0 -

Yes, it would have.
No one cares if you eat clean. Seriously. I'm one of the biggest "dirty" eaters on the forum (though I got nothin on magerum), but I have absolutely no problem with someone wanting to eat "clean."
I do have a problem with someone misrepresenting the effects of "eating clean." OP didn't lose weight as a result of eating clean, she lost weight as a result of consistent calorie deficit and exercise. Which is awesome. But starting a thread attributing her weight loss specifically to "eating clean" is intellectually dishonest claptrap.0 -

Meh. Most will probably just read the OP anyway and draw their conclusion.
And if someone is willing to base their diet off of what they believe worked for one person, then there is nothing that you, I, or anyone else can do for them.0 -

Maybe misleading others that click this thread thinking it was more about her eating clean than it was about her eating a restrictive caloric deficit and adding in exercise..... It is a public forum and there alot of people clicking on these threads looking for information..... No one is knocking her success just injecting alittle bit of advice as to her results.....0 -
