BEST FOODS FOR BREAST FEEDING:

Hi all,
I am new to this forum. Just found out that I'm pregnant and dealing with the initial symptoms. Its crazy that the baby is smaller than my fingernail, but the hormones have so many effects. This is my second time, so I know what to expect. Last time I gained almost 60 lbs, so I am really going to watch it and keep the weight gain down. I finally got off all the weight from the last baby. I am getting married in 4 wks (will be 10 wks prg), and really don't want to look fat. I wonder if I can add 200 calories to my previous daily of 1500 and still nourish the baby. I think eating lots of small healthy meals but keeping my calories to 1700 in my first trimester should be OK? I know that I should ask the OB, but my first appt is not for a long time... have any of you asked the dr what the ideal # calories is for early on? All I remember is to add 200-300 calories to what you used to eat.0 -
Hello ladies,
I am not sure if I can join this group yet or not but thought I would ask. My husband and I are going to be getting a vasectomy reversal in a few months and then try for baby #4. I had gotten done to 150 (my profile pic) but now I am around 162 and I would love to lose as much as I can before we get pregnant. If I can follow you ladies as I prepare my body for pregnancy, I would love that.
Thanks so much and have a blessed day,
Jessica :flowerforyou:0 -
Hello woderful team!
First let me say that I have really enjoyed my time here, and it's wonderful to see everyone moving a long in their goals. I've loved seeing everyone challenge themselves and bloom throughout the year.
Unfortunately, this isn't the place for me. My motivation is to lose weight so TTC will be easier and healthier, but I find that our group has transitioned more to maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle throughout pregnancy - which doesn't do anything for my motivation.
So I've decided to create a spin-off group from Hopeful and mines' original group (your group). It will be called 'Fit For Future Families' and will start today.
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/107503-fit-for-future-families
I was also hoping that someone could head up a 3rd group for post-baby bodies. I think this wa our small group can blossom to include more women who are looking for support in certain places, and not feel as though that aren't a good fit for the group.
I will check in with you from time to time, and link the two groups together each time a new thread is started.Perhaps you could point women in this direction who aren't yet pregnant, and your group can focus more on women who are, since the needs and support are very different.
All the best friends! I'll be in touch!

just a quick post to say the baby shower went well :-) Lots of clothes and blankets and clothes which is awesome, but means we still have lots to buy. :-) We purchased baby room paint yesterday YAY I'll post before and after pics when we finish it0

When do you think the best time is to test when TTC? A couple days before your monthly is due, the day it's due, after days being late? I was just curious to see what you ladies thought. I still think someone needs to come up with an immediate test result0

The most accurate would be the day your period is due, but you won't swee a + sooner than 10 dpo (days past ovulation).0 -

Here's my weekly check in ...
lost 0.2lbs this week, which shocks me, because I don't feel like I've been very good this week.
Pre-pregnancy weight: 162
Current weight: 185.2
Pregnancy weight gain: 23.2lbs0 -
Weekly check in ...
I went to the doc's this morning and she said that she's head down already. She told me I'm not done cooking yet, but after 36 weeks if it happens - it happens. I have a feeling she's coming early.
I'm 34 weeks this week and up 1 lb since my last doc appointment.
Pre-pregnancy weight: 149
Current weight: 173
Pregnancy weight gain: 24 lbs
The girls at Zumba keep telling me that she's going to shimmy her way out. My instructor almost fell over when I told her I was 8.5 months along....She thought I was only 7 months. I told them I'm be at Zumba until the day I deliver or my doc says stop......I'll just have to take more pee breaks the furthur along I get. :laugh:0 -
Does everyone have symptoms early on? I am 11 DPO and honestly I am scared to test, becuase I don't want the dissapointment. I have promised myself not to test until the day AF is supposed to come. However, I haven't noticed any symptoms of pregnancy. Is this an automatic sure sign, or do lots of women have no symptoms this early?0

Down 2 pounds this week! 20 more and I'll stop taking the pill!!!! I'm starting to get really excited now. :bigsmile:0

Tahmed- Some women will feel some symptoms but you may not feel anything until 6 weeks every woman is different. I didn't feel anything until the 5th week mark and then 8-10 week mark. Definitely test when you think its time and don't be disappointed if it doesn't happen but I will be crossing my fingers for you.
Weekly check in I am up
CW 168
SW 164
I don't know if its consistent though because Friday I weighed in and I was 164.8 lbs. Who knows maybe its easier to do a monthly check in just because of how my weight fluctuates. Hope all of you girls are having a great week.0 -

I didn't feel any symptoms until about week 5....but everyone is different. I didn't even feel pregnant until about week 18. So wait until it's the right time and then test. :flowerforyou:0 -

lots of people don't have symptoms until a month or so after a positive test, etc. No worries. :-)0 -
Hi everyone, I have joined the club! Mind if I officially join this board?
My husband could tell the difference in me right away. I didn't really notice until my period was just about due. (even then I tested before to "prove my husband wrong" that didn't work out how I planned. )
I would appreciate some advice on what you do to eat healthy while pregnant. I obviously don't want to gain horrendous amounts, but I want to give my baby the healthiest start. What have you done to make that work. My last pregnancy I had gestational diabetes and I really want to avoid that again!
Thanks in advance!0 -
One thing that has really helped me is planning meals ahead of time. The night before I plug in my breakfast, snacks, lunch, and sometimes dinner. That way you have all meals set and can adjust until the calories are just right.
I try to eat combinations of foods that will help curve hungry. Some of my favorite snacks are:
1 orance with 10 almonds
vanilla yogurt stuffed full of fresh blueberries, strawberries, and/or raspberries
1 whole wheat wasa cracker with 1 lite laughing cow swiss cheese
1 apple with peanut butter/almond butter
crackers and hummus
carrots and hummus
veggies with lite ranch
I also post foods from an AMAZING book called "The 100 Healthiest Foods to Eat During Pregnancy" I attached the links below if you want to check them out. Each time I post a new one I post the link on here for everyone to check out. :-)
