It's a little more difficult from a phone, but doable.

I don't even attempt the forums on my phone... but it's ancient. I use my iPad so I see a lot less of people's profiles, etc. than people using desktops.
So I have no freaking idea -- nor do I *care* -- what gender people's friends are.
