i get freaked out by realistic, disturbing movies that can be interpreted as 'horror' like Elephant (it's about a high school shooting); Frozen (not the cartoon haha) and Open Water

Frozen and Open Water are 2 of my favorites (I might like The Reef better than that one though)! I hardly know anyone else who has even heard of Frozen! Two other movies in your genre of choice are Frailty & A Horrible Way to Die. Ya seen those? More psychological thriller-ish, but both are goodies..

Poltergeist and Children of the Corn. Little kids and scary movies creep me out.

Home Movie was a pretty good movie in the spirit of creepy children. It's found footage though & some people don't like that genre (I like it fine; I think there are plenty of gems amongst the mass of duds). There's a great line in that movie--"dead things go in garbage bags"--& it's some pretty creepy foreshadowing. But yeah.... glad those kids aren't in my class, lol.

I always remember getting freaked out by Dracula as a kid!
Now, it's one of my Halloween cheesy favourites!

    Bram Stoker's Dracula?? D'awww... that's a love story! <3

Insidious is one that truly deep down creeped me out.

Not many have ever actually scared me. I loved horror movies as a kid. Would constantly rent and watch the classics like the Halloween movies, nightmare on elm street etc :D

    There's nothing I won't watch. >:)

ETA: The Human Centipede was gross and disturbing, though. When I was younger, Thirteen Ghosts scared me.

I love horror movie but my all time favorite is Halloween. I am also a big fan of the devil rejects.

My tolerance for movie scary is low. I walked out on Gremlins, and never even almost accidentally saw all those things mentioned above.

Another vote for The Omen. I turned it off after the nanny scene.
Event Horizon was creepy. I think it was because I went to watch it at the cinema without having a clue what it was about.
Picnic at Hanging Rock freaked me out too. It's the most unsettling film. All playing out in the drowsy Australian sunshine. And it's a pg as well!

1968 Night of the Living Dead (B&W)

The ORIGINAL Walking Dead! I was 20 yo and it was scary! Probably won't be appreciated today but back in the day it was ORIGINAL!

I couldn't watch Candyman for years - my aunt traumatized me.

Movies that get me every single time are Blair Witch Project and The Ring. Ghost/paranormal stuff freaks me out.

Now, goriest? My vote goes to Cannibal Holocaust and Evil Dead (2013 remake). Both are very hard to stomach.

Ahhhh, I just love horror films, though!

The movies that I cannot watch are the realistic movies...especially concerning children....so kidnapping, murder..drama films. Any monster, alien, ghost, paranormal, supernatural stuff doesn't bother me.

Me too. That's why Seven was so bad. I don't like movies where people do bad stuff to people. I won't watch Human Centipede for that reason. Also, I don't like gross stuff. But, I can watch certain movies. I have a high tolerance if there is something empowering or that I can relate to in the movie. Such as the Swedish version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (I didn't like the American version).
