So, I woke to an SMS from my bank to say my bank card had a temporary block put on it due to suspicious activity and to call the number in the SMS.

It says its the Fraud Squad number in the SMS , but is it really.? ..

It took me over 30 mins to verify that number actually was legit.

I think that's ridiculous that the bank always says be mindful of scams etc, yet they send you an SMS with a number for you to contact..smh.. I was so confused.. do I or don't I contact. Anyway, block removed but honestly I can't help but think how stupid it was.

If you're not sure just call the number on the back of your bank card.

I thought about that but it is a general customer care number which doesn't open till 9am. So what I eventually did was log into my account and ask the live assist what their fraud squad number was and she confirmed it. Luckily it is a 24/7 open number so my card was unlocked instantly.

Life as a single parent and having become one of the divorce statistics of the military.

Both are hard, but incredibly rewarding. Sad to hear you've joined the ranks of single parent. It'll get better, but it does really suck for a while.

I was remembering way back in the day when I first joined mfp and I dipped my toes into the forum.

I posted in a "smash or pass" thread legit thinking smash = hit (as in punch) Lol

I sure got a lot of new guy friends out of that one. 😂 Oh the naivety!

I appreciate it man. I could use all the advice since it’s been 12 years.

I like it here because the vast majority of people seem to have a good sense of humor. I feel like most people get me and can tell when I’m joking. It’s a nice feeling. Most places online are really hostile these days, but this place is.. nice. Doesn’t even really feel like online, you know?

Yeah, it feels kind of like a fireside chat, as opposed to a hostile forum.

We obviously need to try harder.

Minus the spiked eggnog of course. And somebody throwing up over in the corner of the room.

I've been thinking about the potentially heavy stories some of you have to tell. It's disheartening, yet somehow inspiring that so many people here come from such tragic stories and end up stronger for them (albeit maybe cynical).

True, there have really only been hints of deeper storylines here and I don't pry (I figure if y'all want to share, you will), but so many of you have come from pretty terrible relationship situations, familiar horrors or had scary medical complications and conditions.

In light of another thread: If I were ever to give a *kitten* about anyone anymore, it would probably be about the random faces I see here as many of you are like long-distance friends. Maybe we aren't super close, but I feel closer to and know you slightly better than I know most other people these days, so...

I’ve been a lurker with the random posts here and there just to kind get a little confidence boost. This community has definitely helped, even just reading all the support that is given and the insight is amazing.

Another hour, another Zoom call and I can't help but wonder when did ending every idea with "Does that make any sense?" become a thing? The last two people had some variation of this.

Why would you say something if you didn't think it made sense? 🤔

Mind you, I say random stuff on here - typos, grammar flaws and all - then expect you all to make sense of it...or keep scrolling 🤷🏿‍♀️
