What's on your mind?

Seriously....that's what's going through my mind. I work in a medical office. We have been doing this COVID stuff for over a year now. The sign is MASSIVE so you can't miss that you need to remain in your car and call us. And for the love! If I hear "I'm vaccinated" one more time I'm going to lose my mind! 12 hours of repeating "Did someone call you in? No? Ok, our number is the sign on the door, please return to your vehicle and calls us to register" "But I'm only here for xyz" Mmmhhmmm, I hear ya, please step out and give us a call.
And my gosh, the verbal abuse people sling lately. Vacation can't come soon enough!
That is all. Thanks for letting me rant
..... but what if they're already vaccinated ?
Hahaha! I'm internally screaming right now
Then they can still wait in their dang car like everyone else. Thank goodness too, because this past year working at a COVID testing site urgent care has made me a lot less peopley.
My niece works in her dh's medical office and she gets so exasperated by people who refuse to wear a mask. Recently another doctor and his dw both came in, weren't wearing masks and were very rude about it all.
It's gotta be near impossible to keep that pleasant smile pasted on your face while people are going over the edge about a stupid mask or saying to themselves 'you CAN'T mean me can you?'2 -

It's the being rude that gets to me. I get it. I really REALLY do. I don't like checking people in over the phone because it can lead to mistakes in spelling and insurance info, etc. I also know it's frustrating for the patient because they don't feel well and just want to be seen. However, I have had some really nasty people come in. Yes, out mandates have lifted with the exception of medical offices. Yelling and being down right nasty isn't going to get them in the door any faster.0 -

This is expected to begin on Wed...
At least I'll have time to venture out tomorrow to p/u some gum & tiny cans of Coke, in case I have to sit in the closet, riding out the storm.3 -
Got a great compliment from a woman today, im sure she was just trying to get a better price on a kitchen renovation....but hey, im still gonna think she meant it anyway.9

Quick trip to Florida tomorrow to visit my daughter's grave and to donate an AED and provide training on it to the organization in my link. So, a lot on my mind right now.
What a great organisation 🙂 thats awesome you are donating the AED (defib).. they are life savers.
Visiting her grave must be tough, I can't imagine 😔

So my night shift team is disbanded starting next month. Nobody lost their jobs but we do have to choose somewhere to go. This is great news to me because I’ve been wanting to transfer and they were holding me hostage because they couldn’t keep people on this team. 🥳 Literally everyone was happy.4

So excited; just called the vet to reschedule an appt. and they're now letting people in their doors. Yay! It's the little things we take for granted.3

Love that it worked out well for you! My company shut down a lot of centers last year. 2 rounds....the first 24 centers closed, and the second 9 centers closed. It was heartbreaking for those who lost their jobs, but luckily we were able to bring a few into my centers.2 -

Errands before the storm hits tomorrow. Walking outdoors into the heat & humidity feels like swimming in a thick bowl of soup.
I had to wait an extra hour to leave... 2 large cranes were pulling a 20-ft alligator off the property. One of the hazards of living in SoFL, next to the canal... the view's gorgeous, but ya might lose a leg trying to snap a pic in the process. Oh, boy...1 -

Lol. Packing begins in Aug.
Lease expires in Nov.
Oh, yeah... & this bloody thing, the size of my entire hand, has been having a parade on my patio screen for weeks. I'm afraid to leave my apt... last time I opened the door, it hissed at me & said, 'you're next'.

I grew up in SW Florida, and I used to catch these when I was a kid and try to make them my pets by naming them I'll be back next week for a visit, so if you want to send him my way, I'll tame him for ya!2 -
I’m a mixed bag today. Anxiety drove me off this site and others a few months ago, and after trying unsuccessfully to combat it on my own, I have returned to using an SSRI. I guess I’m thankful for modern medicine that can help (although one could argue that it’s the modern pace of life that causes anxiety in the first place).
I just really wish I didn’t need a pill to help me feel like myself, you know?

Tires
My front tires are slick.
I hate, hate, hate waiting at auto places. 😖3 -

Well if you think your tires could make it to Wisconsin I’ve got a place for you. I just had mine done this morning. After waiting waaaaay too long. Great local place. Less than an hour. They’re amazing there. We’ll go out for lunch after.☺️2 -

They’re so slick I avoid the highway.

Wish we could have lunch together! 💓1 -
I did not need anything I just bought at Target over my break, but I justified every last thing I bought anyway.5

Now that we text, post and generally type to people a lot, imo it is more important than ever to use the right words in the right context.
Misunderstandings are so easy when one isn’t looking at the person we’re talking to.
I am really trying to only type the words necessary without the reader thinking I’m being snotty.
Sometimes it’s not easy.6
