    I had to drive into work today to pick up my ice chest and bug spray. I haven't drove since my last day of work, Friday. It was nice going for a drive. It was calming. Didn't realize how good it felt just to get out and drive somewhere.

    “control of the indigenous by members of their own group”

    Control in what way?

    I’m rereading handmaid’s tale. There is a character in it who asserts that all totalitarian regimes use a group’s own people to help suppress/control them. I’m mulling that over

    I thought you didn't like Hallmark movies.

    I don’t like movies in general. TV & books

    @your_future_ex_wife

    it sounds like that you're watching the wrong movies.....

    Perhaps. Do you have any recommendations?

    Yep.

    Tons.

    I'll need to pull a short list together for you.

    Any favorite genre ??

    What’s the genre for people with a short attention span?

    @your_future_ex_wife

    is it archaic to say "he doesn't give a hoot!"

    I heard someone yelling this, and I thought it was kinda funny and rare to hear it

    My friends and I will sometimes use expressions that are completely outdated, just for the fun of it.

    That's not archaic. It's hip, like Members Only jackets and Jordache jeans.

    Those cute little old couples that you see taking care of each other when they are out and about.

    He's a much older man than I and has already made it a point that he's going first. I told him he never knows. I could just as easily go first. Anything can happen.

    It sounds like you care deeply for each other. Neither of you wants to be without the other. I hope you have many years of cute old people handholding together
