It really sucks that you have to book 13 months in advance and place your name in a "lottery" to hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The only available opens this year are December 3 & 21. I hate that I'm limited to those two days and on top of that it'll cost $327 to hike and spend one night down at the bottom.

Seriously??? I've always wanted to do this

It's worth it though. Have done it twice now. Look up Havasupai Falls too. That is a personal fave. Skip the Skywalk, which is a bit of money pit. Still cool but expensive. Take the train from Williams to the canyon. Williams is a fun little town.

Let me know if you are ever out this way. Could meet in Flag or Williams for coffee.

You can hike or ride a mule to the bottom. It's only offered through the Grand Canyon National Park. There is some sort of permit you can by to hike on your own, but it wouldn't be wise to hike by myself.

Hike rim to rim in a day, save the $$$.

North Rim is the better side. That whole Kiabab area is fantastic. Stay at Kiabab Lodge or near Jacobs Lake.

I would freak out if I was ridding on a mule , I have seen videos and those walk paths are very tightly small .
One mistake and down you go with the mule .

Never did the mule, but they are a pain on the trail. Yeah, some of the areas get tight so not sure I would wanna be on one anyways.
