    I never realized until I moved to a place that had one, that sheriff is still a thing. and it’s an elected position!

    Today I got a recorded message from the sheriff’s department- alas not in the sheriff’s own voice as in times past and boy that man is a cutie, but I digress - I got a message from the sheriff’s department alerting me to some tactical training the department would be conducting in my area. I was advised not to be alarmed by loud bangs and that they would not be using live ammunition.
