Asteroids hit planets and moons all the time. Earth is a little different because once an asteroid hits our atmoshpere it usually burns up. It has to be really really big to cause an impact. Earth also isn't as badly scarred because it has things the moon doesn't like plants, volcanoes, erosion, and such that diminish the scars over time.
But with our cameras trained at our local planets and moons all the time, we haven't captured anything on video yet?
Also one hit Russia in 2013. Lots of video. (possible @cee134's gif too?)
Most that hit earth, if not burned up in the atmosphere, land in the ocean.
I'm hoping the gif I posted is. But it's the internet so.... 50/50.0 -
