Added the plank workout to my M-F morning routine of 10 burpees, 20 push-ups, 30 chin-ups, 40 lying leg lifts

Side planks are on my list to work on this month. Working on leg raise planks and transitioning from basic to forearm during my 2 min planks. Mixing it up a bit anyway.0

Heck, I just started doing Plank last month. You're doing awesome! I'm hoping to get up there soon. The workout is one I actually found after reading an article about Plank provided by @serenade_N.

You know what's funny, I had found a plank challenge on you tube I was going to share here, but far prefer this poster.

I will try some side planks mixed in this weekend. I have some lower back issues (as in previously herniated discs, and one previously partially removed) so it might not happen. It really just depends on whether or not the weight on my lower spine on my side is painful or not. Last time I tried them I quickly gave up and went back to forearm planks. But my core is much stronger now, so will give it another shot.4 -

Would halving the lift in body weight by placing knees on floor help alleviate any previous pain? Doing this perhaps may familiarise the lower back and core and introduce flexibility. Sounds like you've got this.2 -

Ugh had to make up from missing yesterday since I didn't want to be doing them over the weekend. Love all the plank info sharing going on in the thread. So many hard core plankers here this month! I did try to vary mine up a bit today...yea, not liking side planks either...

I will try on my knees maybe. It's the discs in my L2-L5 area of my spine. On my side it starts to twinge pain and I chicken out. Actually there isn't much left of the disc between L4-L5 so that might be an issue.

From what you've shared, that is sensible not to carry out a side plank that brings on twinge pain. Would recommend seeing a physical therapist/sports medic for clarity of boundaries.0 -

They poked and prodded enough last year lol, as long as I can reach my goals and not end up hurt again just going to leave the doctors out of it for a while. According to the surgeon I shouldn't be doing any of the stuff I've been doing the last two years lol. So I just keep testing my limits, but I am quick to back off if something doesn't feel right. They also said I'd never run again and I ran two miles this year.
