What did you have for breakfast, and how much are you eating generally? Have you recently reduced how much you are eating, and if so, how recently? Apple and a yoghurt is a fine snack, but if you have serious hunger brewing, that won't be enough to hold it off.0

I've been eating about 1600-1700 calories, I'm five pounds off my goal, someone said I might need to up my calories a bit, for breakfast I had cereal, soya milk, grapes, nuts1
-
Just want to add my job can be physically demanding I eat breakfast about 7.25 and then something around 10.30 but I can never ease my hunger at this time2
-
More protein/fat/fibre will help stave of the hunger. Try some peanut butter with that apple or change what you have for breakfast, I know personally for breakfast that only eggs will satiate me.
Upping calories is not the answer to lose weight.
Have you set yourself at an aggressive deficit ? if so, you might simply need to fuel your body with some more calories and accept your loss might just be at a slower rate i.e 0.5lb a week.5 -
Is your period due soon? I'm always starving the week before mine.4

And have you been regularly losing eating those calories til now? and if so how much per week? As your job is active you could well eat some more and just lose at a slower rate. Mostly though adjusting what you eat so you're getting more protein in will help keep you fuller for longer.0 -
Yes been losing about a pound sometimes two1
-
Well there you go then, you are burning more calories so your body is telling you it needs more fuel - you could definately increase your calories by at least 250 -500 a day, perhaps more. Its a matter of trial and error.
When we are down to that last few pounds its better to lose at a slower rate so we don't lose too much muscle mass along with the fat.
So eat a bigger breakfast and for your snack add something more to that - that'll keep those hunger pangs at bay.0 -
You are not literally starving after eating as that is an oxymoron.16

Did I wait too long to eat?0

Could you have a look at my diary it's open0

Try having a big glass of water and waiting 15 minutes to see if the hunger passes. A lot of time we "think" we're hungry but actually it's thirst.9

don't you eat dinner? I only went back 3 days though. Your breakfast looks good for protein, but there are some quick add entries for other meals. You're not logging everything you eat ?
You say you have been losing weight so the logging isn't actually your problem, its just that you are not eating enough hence why you are losing up to 2lbs a week and its probably why you feel so hungry.1 -
I'd have that snack with a big giant cup of tea...I don't know why it works for me but it does.0

It takes 20 min from your stomach to tell your brain that it is full, that is why eating slowly will help losing weight as you will eat less until your brain register that you are full.0

I only went back a few days but did notice that your diet is primarily carbs (and quite a bit of that is sugar). Low in PROTEIN and low in FAT. Personally, I'd be starving as well. If it were me, I'd be eating more protein and fat. And, yes, why are you skipping dinner?9

I'm not skipping dinner I just don't always know how to calculate it especially if my partner makes me a meal or we go out0

Any tips for adding more protein and fat in there ?1 -

That would make her literally go to the bathroom.
Are you saying drinking water is silly because it will only make you go to the bathroom? Surely it will hydrate her before she literally goes to the bathroom.5 -
Try having a package of instant oatmeal with an apple. The oatmeal is about 100 calories and more filling (to me anyway) than yogurt.
My new thing is to drink 1 cup of V8 vegetable juice. It's only 50 calories per 8 oz and takes the edge off my hunger.0 -

You can still add what you've eaten despite him having made it - there is a recipe builder function on MFP. Or look through the database and find something similar. I know for me my dinners can range from anywhere from 450 cals to 800.
For more protein: eggs/meat/fish/greek yogurt/nuts etc

Eat more nuts and seeds, whole fat dairy, avocados. Have an omelet for breakfast. Or REAL oats and add nuts to them. Or make savory oats with an egg on top. (skip the instant oatmeal. It's had all the good stuff removed). Have string cheese and nuts as a snack. Or peanut butter with the apple.
Bean dishes, lentils etc.3 -
For me it would be the carbs. They make me feel hungry when I'm not. Stuffed yet starving Is the best way to describe it. Try having peanut butter and/or some cheese with the apple, or a handful of almonds or walnuts with the yogurt. You may find this helps. Make sure the cheese is not low fat.5

Eat a bit more - you don't want to be losing up to 2lb a week when you're only 5lb from goal. Half a pound a week would be better. Your hunger is not because there's anything specifically wrong with that snack, it's likely because you are not quite eating enough overall.
I also agree with others to make sure there is enough protein and fat - and also fibre - in your diet overall. But it seems to me the main problem is not enough calories.2 -
