Today I lost 20 pounds, so I did a progression photo. On the left is before I lost any weight, and on the right is a picture I took today. Not only can I not tell that I lost any weight, I actually look BETTER in the left pic when I'm 20 pounds heavier. I am totally depressed now.

Don't be discouraged, put on the same outfit as the left and feel the difference!

    Challenge SW: 12/29/16: 216.0
    CGW 6/15/17: 186.0
GW: approx. 158.0 (based on initial goal body fat of 23%)
    UGW: 18-20.5% body fat

Weight loss method: Weighing, measuring and logging all food. Ensuring I have enough protein and good fats for satiety. Kettlebell and lifting workouts. My goal is 130g of protein each day and 25g of fiber. My averages for the week were 131g of protein and 30g of fiber,

No workouts this past week. :'( My knee was still sore and I wanted to give it a few more days. It feels great today and I’m looking forward to getting back to working out.

    1/5/17: 213.0, -3.0
    1/12/17: 211.2, -1.8
    1/19/17: 209.6, -1.6
    1/26/17: 208.4, -1.2
    2/1/2017 206.8, -1.6
    2/9/2017 205.2, -1.6
    2/16/2017 202.8, -2.4

On paper my loss look great, but it’s not. Some of it was definitely water weight from no longer working out (muscles retain water for repair). Plus, I know I didn’t restrict myself enough to really lose 2.4 pounds (my average daily deficit for the week was approx.. 625 cal.). This is the first week where my measurements have not really changed from last week’s. This next week I would love to see my measurements go down with a modest loss (.8-1.2 pounds).

Challenge Loss: -13.2 (44% of the way there and 16.8 to go!).

This past week's challenge: My husband was traveling so it was me vs. four kids and their schedule. Continuing to rest knowing it is the best thing for my knee. I tend to push myself too hard and get burned out. I’m thinking every 4 weeks I need to take a break with the workouts and focus on stretching, mobility and walking only.

This past week's successes: Solid logging and average daily deficit. More daily activity due to not being so exhausted from working out, plus my knee feels great today! Looking forward to getting in a workout today. Realizing as much as I love to workout hard, I need to be in this for life and can’t risk an injury. Extra effort getting in all my protein for the week.

My upcoming week: My husband is traveling again. It will be me vs. kiddos and their schedule again. I will start my workouts again. I plan to workout four times plus walk. I can’t let the fact that my measurements didn’t change frustrate me. Many times frustration will equal a spectacular fall off the wagon. Not this time! :) Progress not perfection!

You are being too hard on yourself. There is a definite change! The picture on the left is taken at a much more flattering angle and your clothes are very flattering for your figure (and behind a cardigan). In the picture on the right, you are rocking a shirt that looks awesome (your midsection looks very much improved) and I can see your waist! Your are taking the picture straight on which generally is generally not flattering, but you look great despite that.

    Hi,
I see people are still joining this challenge and I'd love to join, too! :)
I'm a 42 yo mother/wife/artist. Losing 30 pounds by June 15 would be great timing for me. I'd like to lose a total of somewhere between 30-49 pounds, depending upon how I look, feel health-wise and how my motivation is. I hope I will stay motivated and lose the full 49 pounds, but my main goal is better health and to look/feel better in clothing. I need to lose almost 30 pounds to be in the healthy weight range.
I'm on my phone right now, but I will go back and read the whole thread when I'm on a different device in order to make sure I have the rules down.
I plan on logging in daily and my meals are viewable to friends.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

    I'd like to join also!
I'm a 46 year old mom of 3 and I desperately need to focus and lose at least 30-40 lbs. I have bad knees as well as plantar fasciitis in both feet. When I'm at a healthy weight my knees and feet don't have many issues so I need to lose weight for so many reasons! But even beyond that, I am so TIRED of not being healthy. I want to set the right example for my kids on how to take care of our bodies (both with the right foods and exercise).

Very excited to be a part of this!!!

You need to wear similar clothing for your photos and keep the same pose. Your "before" clothes hide the weight, and the bright pink blouse in today's photo accentuates your figure. Your face is definitely slimmer, though.

    Don't give up!

WOOHOO!!! Finally some difference on the scale. I kept gaining and losing the same two pounds (152-150) for like 3 weeks, but now I've broken into the 140s. I'm hoping I can keep this momentum going, I hate the yo-yoing back and forth

I am so disappointed, I was really hoping for a bigger loss. I thought I have been working out harder and ate so much better this last week. Not going to let this get me down! Just going to keep on going and I will see the results next week. I know what works, eat less move more. I have done this before and will do it again for the last time! Pardon my little pep talk to myself LOL

Weigh in for me today. Valentine’s dinner <3 and a cracker attack >:) contributed to my lack of progress this week. No worries though, I’m still ahead of schedule on this 30 pounds by June trek. Also I’m still recovering from shoulder surgery. In four more weeks (13 Mar) I’ll be cleared to use my arm again and get back to my regular exercise routine

I'm feeling better today.... but I did binge out on Valentine Conversation hearts this morning. Hopefully I won't see that I've completely sabotaged myself when I get on the scale on Sunday.

    Have a great weekend!

Didn't you say you were going to give your Valentine's candy away??? You should listen to what you say, you have good instincts. Good luck with the scales on Sunday.

My office is filled with food all the time! On Valentine's Day, my office served a popcorn bar, where you could add all kinds of candy to your popcorn. I resisted on V-Day, but I was weak on Thursday or Friday or whatever day it was! It's ok, I'm back on track now!

This was a great week, weight loss-wise. Even with my conversation heart binge, I lost over 2 pounds. YAY!

Way to go LLL. Glad your little Bing didn't sabotage your week. Just proves we can make mistakes occasionally, but if we put it behind us and get right back to it, we can still progress towards our goals. You are an inspiration!!!!
