    Day 1
I have never posted on the forum before but here it goes...

    1. Stop cheating on food after I get home from work.
    2. Stay under 1500 calories today
    3. Burn 500 calories at the gym tonight
    4. No eating after 8pm
    5. Log everything!

Well, it's been a bust of a few days. I've been a little embarrassed to come on here and tell you how bad it's been. Lol. My vacation started on Tuesday when I walked out of the branch at 1:30. Lol. I dont have to be back until next Thursday at 10:45! I have a lot planned but haven't had any motivation to do any of it. I haven't really logged anything I've eaten, done any exercise, or anything really. Yesterday was our 3 year anniversary. Where the heck has the time gone?! Lol. But I've used that as an excuse to be completely lazy and a total slob. But that is ending today! I have a list of things to do. I've done one of them already in washing the dishes. Lol. I've logged my lunch too. I am going to get back onto the MFP train today! I need to get a handle on this or I will blow up like a balloon again and I refuse to let that happen!

    So, here we go!

    1. LOG ALL FOOD
    2. Finish dishes
    3. Take out trash
    4. Put food in Crock
    5. Fold clothes
    6. Wake up the DH(he had food poisoning last night and was up into the wee hours of the morning)
    7. Meditate/attempt to get a handle on my focus and concentration
    8. 1hr Udemy

    That's all for today!

    1. getting hair cut/colored, so can't go to the gym. But .... I can go in the evening. Try and go in the evening :) Got my hair colored, but spent the nite laying down, watching TV. A lazy nite with hubby, but hey, sometimes its is OK to be lazy :)
    2. log all food :)
    3. remember to drink water :/ Well ..... does wine count???? ;)
    4. work on cupboards underneath bathroom sinks :/
    5. help husband build 2 units which will ship next week :)
    6. clean out refrigerator and pantry :/
    7. sip water in the evening :/
    8. stay within calories limit - 1400 calories :)

    JFT, Thursday
    1. lay out gym clothes for tomorrow morning --- already been there today!
    2. log all food
    3. concentrate on water
    4. keep calories below 1400. This Should be easy, but it's not been lately!
    5. keep logging all food - even if I am over on my calories
    6. remember how far I have come. Don't let the scale go b ack to the 200s. Keep focused

I see for so many of us, myself including, we are losing motivation. This is the time of year for me also, where I just don't care. Shorts weather will be over soon, big baggy sweaters, and the motivaton slips. Plus, halloween in another month (one of my favorite holidays!), thanksgiving, christmas, etc.

But, I would like to challenge you guys. If we could each lose just 5 pounds by the end of the year??? Or, if you are close to your goal, just maintain thoughout the rest of the year??? (Bex and MLHC1 -- you guys are excused :D -- we want to see healthy babies!!)

Its not very big goals, but it will help us to stay focused. I know for myself, I am currently at 194 pounds. If I do not watch myself, it will be so easy to get back into the 200s by January 1st. That is only 6 pounds away - which as we all know, that weight can come on so quickly! But ..... if I can lose those 6 pounds, come January 1st, I will be only 10 pounds from my first goal weight of 178!!

So how about it? We all post our weight on October 1st - and the challenge is to either stay the same, or lose 5 pounds by January 1st - very doable. The challenge is just from October to January. Think of how great we will feel when it comes time for those New Years Resolutions!

    LOL!
    Was gonna say!
    I’ve already gained 3lbs!

I’ve just checked online, baby is the size of a turnip and an average turnip weighs 2.2lb. So looks like I’m right on track and not gained any fat as such!!
(I reckon the other 0.8 can account for fluid and all the rest!)

It's been a hard week. It is so much harder to stick to the plan when you are tired. For tomorrow my goals are:
    Get enough sleep
    Drink water with meals
    Clean house and do laundry
Make plan for after work meals next week
    One hour of yard work
    Work HARD on limiting carbs

FRIDAY Thursday goals were met, I guess. I don't even really recall them!
    So here goes--Friday--
    1. Get thru it.
    2. Count calories and be under the goal this day.
    3. Exercise 45 minutes somehow somewhere.
    4. Mow some.
    5. Drag kid through lessons.
    6. 5 is plenty.

    Love #6

For myself, I try to limit my list to 5 or 6 per day. That seems doable to me. Otherwise, just too overwhelming.

Yesterday was better - not perfect, but I didn't go overboard/give up like in previous days!

I'm actually going into the office today rather than working from home so I will have to resist the snacks (and Friday is always hard).

I'm going to focus on my goal - looking good at Christmas party!

    Yesterday's commitments -
    - No snacks except ryvita. If my colleagues want to stuff themselves and get fat that is their perogative - I am not going to!!!! I had two jaffa cakes - they are fairly low calorie though (relatively) so didn't add up to much more than the ryvita
    - No alcohol :/ No - boyfriend and I had a couple of gins (light though)
    - Go to gym this evening :'( Ended up leaving work late - I had been flapping
    - 30+ minute lunch break
    - Meditate
    - Focus on key priorities and be productive

    Today's commitments are simple:
    - No snacks except ryvita. If my colleagues want to stuff themselves and get fat that is their perogative - I am not going to!!!!
    - Be in the green

    - 30+ minute lunch break
    - Meditate
    - Focus on key priorities and be productive

    Day 29 (Sept 21) Goals:
    1. Keep under 100 carbs (for real this time!!!)❌
    2. Exercise a bit✅
    3. Stay calm and patient✅
    4. Log Everything✅
    5. No wheat ❌
    6. No sugar❌
    7. Bonus: keep under 2000 cals❌

Food-wise yesterday was a write off, but I had a wonderful day. Everything went right. FIL was lucid for the 1st time
Since we've been here, meeting with lawyer went well, family time in the evening was just perfect.

The scale hasn't yet shown that I cheated. But that may happen tomorrow.

Today we are less busy so I shall try to keep my food back where it should be. Also I woke up with dry eyeballs because I'm sooo dehydrated! I need to drink lots of water today!!!

    Day 30 (Sept 22) Goals:
    1. Keep under 100 carbs
    2. Exercise a bit
    3. Drink loads of water
    3. Log Everything
    4. Bonus: keep under 2000 cals

@joan6630 I LOVE your challenge idea and i am sooo in!!! This year I looked at my resolutions from the last 3 New Years and weight was on all of them. And each time I'd gained from the year before. So I decided to not put weight on the list this year and to focus instead on being happy and doing things for my future self. (Eating better and exercising). My goal is to be in the 180's by Oct 1st (2 more pounds to go!!!) and to see 179 before the New Year. So I have 12 lbs to lose in 3 months. I'll be sure to post my weight here on Oct 1. I look forward to sharing this journey with you!!!

I'm also a bit nervous. My honey and I are going to visit an old friend tomorrow. I've not seen him in almost 4 years. The last time he saw me I weighed 145 Lbs!!! I weigh 47 lbs more now... I know it is stupid but It's really bothering me. I hate seeing old friends (man or woman) after that much time and change has passed. I feel a bit like a failure.

Had a busy day yesterday! Got up, took the eldest to nursery, took youngest for an x Ray, got home, tidied and showered and went food shopping!
Then collected eldest 45 mins early to drive to the next town to a friends (which is only 30 min drive) to pick up our new car!!!
    It really is awesome!
I’ve only had cars from the year 2002 and this is a 2013 plate. So 10 years advanced on what I normally get.

It took me 10 mins to find the button to get my wing mirrors to fold out haha

JOAN put me on the challenge list. My thoughts are please be under 170, 160 anything is good for October and the old birthday. I can do that but have been eating too much this past few days. And by Christmas, under 160. I do plan to do 2 splurges and that generally means 3 pounds appear in the next couple of days. I am going to a Thanksgiving Buffet and I am doing something different with my son for Christmas-what I haven't decided. I am thinking a day trip to Colonial Williamsburg or maybe to the beach (Virginia Beach). I would love to take him to the National Zoo but it is too far to drive and return to our dogs in a timely fashion.
Up a bit early-dogs wanted out, my dream was unsettling, and time for newspaper. Will let my son sleep a bit. Happy first day of AUTUMN.
My first pill is in, the pill holder is empty so time to restock for a week, and I will also watch weather. Apparently, there is no excuse not to mow today.

I think I need to re-evaluate my goals to keep myself motivated. I'll try to make some adjustments tomorrow am.

Pretracked most food on MFP. Supper is leftovers.
Taking DD to appt so no weights today-tomorrow for sure.
Keep up with 9 cups of water. Get back on track w/this.
Meditate w/calm app for 25 mins.
I've drifted back into unhealthy snacking in afternoons so I will work on that by having a healthy snack on hand.
I've challenged my family that we go a full week w/o take out/restaurant....success & no complaints!
    Early bedtime-try for 9:30pm.
All my preplanning did help w/keeping some stress at bay.
    Read something inspirational.
Preplanning meals for weekend, boys are camping on Sat night so DD & I should do something fun
Stay focused on the next 5 lbs, not 50.

I have a habit of looking ahead to the next event/holiday and saying to myself, I should lose xlbs by that date & I'm discouraged when I do not reach that goal. I have to ask myself, what would it be like if I said, you have 3 years to reach your goal weight...just chip away at it. No harsh deadlines.

    Recap R 9/21
    1) Got up in the dark & walked dog 3.35 miles before work / very warm 67F (ave. high temp is 68 this time of year) and VERY humid (DP 66 which I hate) b/c of thunderstorms overnight. I was dripping when we got home. That's my whine today, but happy dog anyway.
    2) Meals & snacks are (mostly) pre-logged / net calories green = Green!
    3) Wash 1 window before choir rehearsal = Window didn't happen. Instead, I stayed late (25 min.) at work to help co-worker w/ technical issues, then before choir made scrumptious supper: salmon in mustard dill sauce (marinating since lunchtime), sautéed yellow & green zucchini, and brussel sprouts...looked so pretty on the plate, and we do eat with our eyes!
    4) Call middle brother / what should I bring to Packers party on Sunday? = Left voice mail / turns out he just wants us to show up! My kind of party.
    5) Unwind 9:30 / bedtime & TV off 10:15 = In bed on time, but fell asleep w/ TV on, I guess that counts.

    JFT F 9/22
    1) Before work, washed & hung 2 loads of laundry / with high humidity today (fog on way to work), may have to finish in dryer / after work, take down clothes, fold & put away
    2) Draft report for work project & organize folders / due Mon.
    3) Remember to pick up hoodie order
    4) Wash: 1 window & dishes
    5) Leftovers today / calories green
    6) Keep drinking water, have been a little light this week, and body can feel it!

Have a blessed day everyone! Sending out hugs and prayers.

    ✔Prep lunches
    ✔Put dinner in slow cooker
    ✔Kiddos to school
    ✔At university today 8 am - 1 pm
    ❌Nap ~ 1 hr.
    ❌Jog on elliptical
    ❌Pick up kiddos
    ✔Dinner by 7pm
    ❌Homework and Exam Prep
❌Have to stay up late bc teeno has football out of town and won't be back until midnight :# so it'll be a late night. (I have trouble sleeping until everyone is in bed.) <-- it's a Mom thing, Lol!!

Everyone enjoy their day / evening B)

What A Day!!!! :D Yesterday was ridiculous!!!!
I had class at 8 am and before dealing with that I had a whole other situation to deal with regarding my son and his football coaches! Needless to say my son did not go on the away game until midnight. (The coaches sprung that whole thing on my first thing yesterday morning.) After all that, I went to class started to feel nauseated so I proceed to open my sprite quietly when it sprayed all of me, Lol!! So now I had sprite all over me and the day proceeded. I continued to finish my research class and left the university a little early bc I had a meeting with the high school counselor. After grabbing a quick lunch I met with the counselor, discussed important topics with my hubby, then the head coach called and my phone continued with caious. Then to top it all off we all head to the BBQ cook off event, deal with all that craziness until 6:20 pm then take off to the fair!! We always get caricatures of our kids so this time we asked the artist to include a stork carrying a baby so we could break the news to the boys (that was hilarious  ). Well we didn't get home until around 10:15 pm then I organized everyone for showers and finally made it to bed around 11:45 pm. Needless to say, yesterday was eventful, stressful and exhausting!! I had fun but I'm glad the day is behind me :D

Sorry I kind of disappeared this week. The conference really took up all my time and strength. No logging, no goals. I will be visiting my family this weekend, but next week I am officially 'on holiday' from work to be able to write and just generally get stuff done, so I will be back there and reading up on everything that happened. Take care, everyone!

    Have a good time!

So happy for your good day yesterday. Don't worry about seeing your old friends...friends don't care how you look, they care about you.

Yesterday was better - not perfect, but I didn't go overboard/give up like in previous days!

Good plan. Reminds me of a sign I've got in my office: Rather than aiming to be perfect, aim to be better than you were yesterday.

    You can do this!

Ever since I gave myself "permission" to lose weight at whatever rate it is this day/week/month, the pressure lifted. As I explained to my physician at my annual exam, I refuse to "diet", this is my life. So I just try to eat smaller portions, less processed foods, fewer sweets. I also splurge when the occasion calls for it. I have no deadline...I reach my goal when I reach my goal. It's slower but so much more doable!

    9/22 Friday JFT:

I'm exhausted today so I may just "play-it-by-ear."
(All reg. morning events are done, up early, kids to school, etc.)

Things I hope to get done today:

    Homework and Exam Prep
    Professor review session 12 - 2 pm
    Laundry
    Rest a bit
    Jog on elliptical
    Review Budget
    Dinner by 7pm
    Family Movie Night
    Bedtime after movie

@joan6630 I love the challenge!! Thank you for the pass, Lol!! I tend to gain pretty well during pregnancy not due to food consumption but mainly water weight is my issue. I'm just going to focus on listening to my body, staying healthy and work on keep my little one healthy :) I can't be selfish about my body bc until this little one is born, my primary concern is the little one's health! I can always lose the weight after birth (plus I'm looking forward to the help from breastfeeding :D Talk about a calorie burner, LOL!!)

Even though I cannot participate in the challenge, I am here for support, whether motivational or emotional, Lol :D

    ☆Good Luck you all☆

I was not able to with my first one but I did with the other two. I've been lucky. I'd suggest giving it another try, every baby responds differently. Maybe it'll be successful this time

I agree with this. For me short term goals lead to a too intense focus which leads to a bounce back up. Like the competitions at work. I stopped joining those because it tured out to be horrible for my health as I got older. When I was younger I could quickly drop 10 pounds and not feel repercussions. But now I get tired and a lot of my hair falls out and the skin is not happy. This last year I set a goal to lose 50 pounds over the year. So I joined a pound a week thread and that helps me keep on track. I have been very sucessful with slow and steady. I'm not quite at a pound a week but very close. I should be back there in a week or two.

I know it is stupid but It's really bothering me. I hate seeing old friends (man or woman) after that much time and change has passed. I feel a bit like a failure.
Having your FIL with you yesterday must have been glorious! So happy for you.

Friends won't care about your weight gain - except wanting you to be healthy. But we understand how you are feeling.

    Yesterday's commitments -
    - No snacks except ryvita. If my colleagues want to stuff themselves and get fat that is their prerogative - I am not going to!!!! I had two jaffa cakes - they are fairly low calorie though (relatively) so didn't add up to much more than the ryvita
I have got to go to the international foods section of Publix (grocery chain) and look for this Ryvita of which you speak so often.

I’ve just checked online, baby is the size of a turnip and an average turnip weighs 2.2lb. So looks like I’m right on track and not gained any fat as such!!
(I reckon the other 0.8 can account for fluid and all the rest!)

My granddaughter is just a few weeks away! I am so excited for you and @MLHC1

I am totally on board! I plan to keep to my pound a week though.

    Day 1
I have never posted on the forum before but here it goes...

    1. Stop cheating on food after I get home from work.
    2. Stay under 1500 calories today
    3. Burn 500 calories at the gym tonight
    4. No eating after 8pm
    5. Log everything!

Welcome! Remember KISS - Keep it simple stupid! It feels good to accomplish SOMETHING everyday.

:) Stay in the green on calories
    :| - Drink water!
:) If home at daylight, pick up a garbage can worth of debris - One down - 2 million to go
:) Bowling match - our first one since the hurricane shut us down. The girls are currently undefeated but girl drama is starting....
:) Make a time line for looking for a new job. - Lot of work on this over the weekend scheduled.
:( Plan tomorrow's food today - did not do this for the evening dinner, but I have leftover rotisserie chicken to eat for the main. Breakfast and lunch are in-hand.
    :) 10K steps

Last night I was pleasently suprized by a cool evening. We were under 80 (26C) degrees by 8:00 last night, and there was a slight breeze. It felt good so I jogged instead of walking. My C25K is a little behind schedule because the evenings in August and September have been so HOT. But I was still able to 'run' the amount of time for where I am in the program.

@MLHC1 maybe me and you can have our own goal!
When everyone is trying to lose 5lbs, we try not to gain more than 5 (in fat not baby)
