Karen, what an absolutely precious picture of Olivia. She is growing so. Is she still in NICU???? They must be so proud of her.
Heather, so sorry about your problems. Also hope you feel better.
Changed my sleep number number from 60 to 55 and it made me feel better. Hope it continues.

Yinka in UK, awe, yep I think my kid is what I term as "scary smart". This is a kid that in 2nd or 3rd grade exclaimed to a friend he was walking to school with, " You don't know about D-Day, or Normandy?? ". Then he gave me this exasperated look. I just said, "son, not everyone your age knows that, most haven't learned that yet". He had all the landing sites memorized.
Once in one of his history themed video games it showed the Greek alphabet. So he wrote a story using that. Oh the look on that teachers face!
Presently he likes to design 3-d objects and then uses the 3-d printer at school to make objects come to life. He has designed a biplane, and other items. So that is validation that he isn't looking at porn sites..
Have a great day in the UK!

Charleen WOWZA, that is the best NSV, way to go. Look what you have accomplished, that is awesome!!!!
I made a really great new recipe with ground turkey, which can be so dry...Added an egg, terriyaki marinade from a bottle (probably a little high in sugar) and a Grated APPLE! It made the burgers really moist and delish... i have discovered some very nice recipes on a site called Epicurious, but watch out-- the desserts are over the top and I always avoid them. What I like about the site is I can list whatever ingredients I've got and something usually turns up that I can make. I am not eating out much (except for the vacation of course) and it is important for me to have variety or I start to overeat. The moroccan chicken I made last night turned out beautifully btw.
Karen that pic of Olivia is Fabulous. (( ))
Now off to the gym I go, have a great evening everyone. NYKAREN

Charleen A fantabulous NSV!
Karen love that pic of Olivia
So had a meeting with senior execs today and I will be changing jobs probably in June. Lots to happen before then. I am happy and nervous as I have done this job for 20 years. I am also excited for a new adventure. And it is real social work at its best so I am returning to my roots.
Hello to everyone and hope you are doing well!7 -

Karen NY - I make my turkey burgers by adding thawed and well pressed out frozen spinach leaves. Really moist. Garlic, a little chopped scallions and Worcestershire sauce.

Barbie: I agree with you that we are both fortunate to have found something we enjoy and are passionate about. It is a real blessing. I hope Jake's cardiologist gives him good news.
Lanette: Schooner is a Keeshond. He is the second one we've had. We really enjoy this breed. The picture I'm using with my name is young Schooner. He's now 9 and has some white on his muzzle. I posted a current picture of him. I hope it works!
Charleen: Not needing to take cholesterol meds is a very big deal and a huge NSV. Congratulations!!!
Beth: I also avoid scary movies. :noway: Life has enough worries and scary things in it. :grumble:
Marcelyn: Sending good thoughts for an easy delivery and healthy mom & baby.
We had good news from our insurance company. They're picking up most of the costs of the raccoon damage abatement. YAY!!! In the beginning we thought we might be stuck with the whole bill so this is very good news, indeed. The abatement work won't be underway for several weeks. Workers have to go under the house to replace insulation and fix some other damage caused by the raccoons. They're planning to send a crew of physically smaller workers because the clearances are so low. The neighbor's place has even less crawl space clearance than ours & they'll do both homes at the same time. I'm not sure how many days it will take.

February goal to check BP and 2 hour BS - Did both for 16 days. Did one or the other for 5 days. Average systolic pressure was 124. Average diastolic pressure was 65. Average 2 hour BS was 117! The battery on my BS monitor died so I plan to get a new one to keep this goal going for March.
Weight - broke even - no loss and no gain.

Hello Wonderful Women!
I am still slogging away at my new tasks - trying to keep it all together. So far, so good, fingers crossed and all that.
I am a bit excited today - because I whined to my Physical Therapist that I missed my elliptical machine - and she said I could DO IT!! I have to pedal backward at a high resistance, but, I can return to my beloved elliptical at last~!
I don't know what is going on with me - whether it's too much sodium, or just that my body is in a state from the Impending (occurring?) menopause - but, my weight is up and down and all around. It's driving me batty - but my lack of a steady downward progress seemed to coincide with my ceasing my elliptical machine - so, I am exceptionally happy about being able to get back to it - even if it will be like starting over to have to learn to pedal backward. Maybe I can psyche myself into losing steadily, again. I mean, gosh, for a while there it was like clockwork... now? Not so much.
Started doing some new exercises, today... take big round ball. Lie on back and place heels on big round ball. Lift butt and pull big round ball toward you with your heels. Uh huh... you bet. Sure. Lifting my butt was about as far as I could get with any regularity. It's kind of like a plank on your back. Guess I will have to keep working on it. I am HOPING that some of the scale madness is due to muscle gain from all the lower body work they have me doing. I mean, geez - almost two hours of hard labor - twice a week. Plus whatever machine work I have time for at the gym...
I did get a SMALL (15") round ball at Walmart the other day to assist with the wall squats.... so I may try that heel thing with the smaller ball to see if it's any easier. (It would HAVE to be easier not to have to pull myself up on a two and a half foot ball, right?)
I see it's the usual "uneventful" day, round here... LOL. Olivia smiling is just plain good to see. What a doll! And loving the puppy pics, the smart kid stories and people leaving those prescription meds behind! Whoot!
Thinking good thoughts for all of you with trials and tribulations.
Healing Hugs and Love All Round!

Karen I meant 1987. LOL.
Gayle he is at United. (((Gayle))) I know it is not an easy time with your mom. I did take several breaks today. He is in intensive care right now. Hopefully tomorrow or next day he will be moved out of intensive care. Spending the day at hospital and decompressing at night. Thanks for all the prayers.
Enjoyed watching the fashion from the Oscars last night. I am also enjoying that we do not have snow. It is nice not having to wear boots and needing to shovel. Ash Wednesday tomorrow for those who observe.

Good evening Ladies!
Olivia is just beautiful! May she continue smiling for a long long time,
Social strategy worked well last night, invited for coffee, wine and desert. Oh my! I bought fresh strawberries and blueberries to share, opted for coffe instead of wine and stared at the cookies and pumpkin bread but never had any. Enjoyed the company and was rewarded with a .2 lb. loss. Thanks Barbie!
How about some pics from the wearable art exhibit at the museum. This is made entirely out of wood..
Just because we are in Massachusetts, how about an outfit to wear to compliment your lobster dinner?
For riding in, or being a car.
Let's not forget some foundation pieces. No one will mess with you if you are wearing either one of these bras!
And just a last pic from the shoe exhibit, an antique hassock I would love to have along with the fabulous shoes inside.
Everyone have a great evening. I'm off the exercise and then have some dinner.

Becca – Our DYS was diagnosed as ADD (only) and put on Ritalin during his 1st year of kindergarten. His 4th grade teacher had 6 kids in her class that were taking medications for ADD or ADD/ADHD and she met with us during parents’ night. She asked if we’d be willing to not give them their morning dose so she could see how they did; and, if we decided at the first marking period (3 weeks in) we could start up again. Three of us agreed, 3 didn’t. Evenly split as to sex. Will would race to be the first to turn in his work; and, she told him that ‘if’ he’d take his time, and concentrate on his writing, so she could read it – she’d reward him with something he wanted to do. It could be doing ‘extra’ work that was above his level … he enjoyed this; or he could color in the back of the room; or he could play with play dough; or several other things he enjoyed doing. The first parents’ meeting (open house) she showed me a bi-plane he had made in class with every detail to it; the rods between the wings, lights on the plane, and she was amazed at the detail; marking down each side of plane and the figures of men sitting in the pilot's seat and passenger seat. She asked if she could keep it as a reminder of how well he could do without being medicated. The next year, he asked if we’d take him off it. We did, with the Pediatrician’s ok.
Never went back on it. There were times I thought he should; but, never pushed it. He was a challenge; but, a 'good kid'. Both were. He went through 5 years at MSU and made Dean’s List the semester that he had to memorize every species of trees, real name, common name, and description. Some were not trees that grow in this area. Yeah, sometimes they are ‘scary smart’. Will has always enjoyed reading and making things.
In his job; he had taught himself how to use every kind of big equipment for roads. He is a ‘worker’ like his Daddy; and, it is ‘his way’ or the ‘wrong way’. LOL!
Like your ‘anchor’ symbol.

Chris, my imagination is running wild as to how a person would wear some of those outfits. Do your boobs go in them???
Yummy salisbury steaks tonight. Last time I made them I forgot to put onions. Much better tonight.

Margaret, I'm sending hugs to you and best wishes for your husband for continued recovery.
Katla, your dog is beautiful.
We are home from Seattle after a pleasant day's adventure that featured Jake getting really good news from his cardiologist that his heart is a bit stronger than it was a year ago. It was a long day, but I walked over 20,000 steps and ate sensibly. The pets were ecstatic to see us when we got home.
I'll be posting the new thread for March soon so I can go to bed early.
