No, I live on tea.
Why are you dropping them?6 -
Depending on your levels of both then it'll take up to a week for the caffeine withdraw to pass .... if you drink LOADS of coffee each day and you go cold-turkey then you'll feel crap for days
Sugar i guess is probably similar to some degree
I have reduced my carb/sugar intake significantly (probably 60% at least) since my 'before life' and caffeine i have reduced a bit but not eliminated ..... why would you? unless you're putting 10 sugars in your triple super mocha whippy wappy lattechino or whatever3 -
Same i would advise agaist complete elimation of sugar if by sugar you mean all carbs( you will have no energy for workouts and feel very tired plus it can excaberte cortisol yeast problems and other things )but if you mean refined sugar then great its addictive high in fructose replace it with healthier carbs when i went cold Turkey from refined cane sugars sweet potatoes potaoes plantains become your best freinds microwaved them(dont fear the microwave) help you kick it for caffeine im assuming your a coffee drinker if it causes you high anxiety sleep problems then eliminating it and seeing how you feel could be helpful you could try replacing it with green tea has less caffeine a good coffee substitute and with whichever of these hot bevarges you try you could try blending ( always blend it or oil will rise too top no be creamy)tablespoon or 2 coconut oil into them this will give you more energy thatyou would otherwise get from caffeine plus it will help curb cravings from sugar with alot of other benefits anyway good luck to you mate2

Op why are you doing this?

There are enough threads on here about "sugar" so I advise you read them.
Regarding caffeine; there is no reason to eliminate it. In fact it is an appetite suppressant and has a mild thermogenic effect so can be beneficial for weight loss.6 -
Caffeine because I'm a terrible sleeper and I find it helps me sleep when I do quit and Just refined sugars for a healthier diet, there's enough in the amount of fruit and veg I eat so I would much happier cut out the crap and fill up on healthy foods. Plus my skin glows1 -

I have a hard-stop at 3pm for caffeine.... i love coffee but i know i'm sensitive in sleep.... that way i know its well through by bed.... so you can enjoy coffee during the morning and early afternoon.
But if you wanna stop then either expect a few days feeling crap from it (if you had a big habit) or wean yourself from it slower1 -
You will feel so much better in about a week. Depending on the amount of caffeine you ingested everyday. The caffeine withdrawal headache usually goes away after a few days and you will start to sleep better in a couple weeks. The added sugars - again - depending on how much you took in everyday. But, when I fall and eat added sugars - it takes me usually about a week to have it out of my system and turn myself around again. And yes, so many folks on here say there is no difference in how your body responds to fruits/veggie sugars and refined sugar - um, tell that to my old body. I've tried to tell my body that over and over and it says - um, naw - you eat added sugars, here ya go, feel like crap. I do not feel like that from fruits/veggies. So, apparently, my system didn't get that memo that refined sugars and sugars from fruit react the same. And feeling like doodoo when I don't eat well, has gotten worse the older I get! Nope - it is not in my imagination.... lots of other things are, not this. Your body will thank yourself!2

Correction: refined sugar is fine in moderate quantities.7 -

Refined sugar is fine in moderation. I will never quit sugar and caffeine. Although I do try not to have caffeine in the evenings because it can interfere with my sleep.4

Funny story, I think. I had emergency surgery on my arm this weekend so, no food, no coffee, and lots of pain killers. I developed a headache that would not go away. Nurse convinced me that the Vicodin should take care of the headache too! Noooooo! Bunch of Vicodin later and still had a headache. I finally got a cup of coffee and boom! Gone! I may have a problem! Lol5

What time do you have you last cup of coffee? I find if I stop drinking tea mid-afternoon it does not interfere with my sleep.
If you are more sensitive and need to quit altogether, you'll get over the caffeine withdrawal headaches in a few days to a week, with it taking up to 12 days for some unfortunates.0 -

Like.. We all know that an over consumption of calories causes weight gain.
Its very common that the majority of the foods consumed are usually calorie dense foods like carbs and sweets. not Always, but for most people... usually the portion sizes of these foods are the reason. Too big, too often.
Too much of anything isn't good, which is why a calorie goal is probably your greatest asset because you are now working proper portions of food into amounts that aren't causing you to gain weight and that your body can use effectively.
This applies to carbs and this also applies to refined sugar.
Pretty good chance people arent coming on here with a 1500 calorie goal lets say and baking a cake and thats all their eating. And there is also a pretty good chance that even if you did have refined sugar every single day, its significantly less then what you were most likely consuming before anyway.
And while fruits are definitely better nutritionally.. it is still possible to have both.
However for whatever reason people seem to go from eating these foods with refined sugar all the sudden to jumping into the "Never eat again cause theyre unhealthy" category..
I kicked type 2 diabetes out of my life and my sugar levels were so out of control i couldn't even afford the insulin i was supposed to be taking.. after losing weight and following a calorie goal, i no longer have diabetes.. i still have fruits when i want them but i still eat refined sugars in the same day because i fit those things into my goal.
I am very healthy, my doctor wrote "WOW!!" on my latest blood work.
And the reason i am healthy is because my body has less weight, its now able to do all the things it can do normally to process the carbs and sugars i consume, i am already eating much less then i was because of a calorie goal and even still my calorie goal is not just chocolate, sugars and treats.. i meet my macro goals and give my body what it needs, refined sugar in my day isnt going to change that.
Yep, former pre-diabetic here who's now a healthy weight and has normal glucose numbers, and I eat sugar every day (in all of its various forms)5 -

I can't do coffee in the afternoon or it impacts my sleep. So 3 in the morning (black, no sugar).
But I've cut it out before. At least a week to get it out of my system. Usually I stop drinking it when I'm sick (flu) and then just don't start back up again for a while, so I already feel like *kitten* and don't miss the caffeine.
But I find I like it too much in the morning so I'm going to keep drinking mine.
Short answer, at least a week.0 -
It's interesting to see how caffeine affects everyone differently-I regularly have a cup of black tea before bed and have no problem falling asleep within a few minutes of going to bed. Maybe I've built up an immunity to it lol.2
-
I felt super sluggish for a few days and had a massive headache. Once that passed, I felt like I'd tapped into an amazing source of fresh new energy and felt even better than before when I was consuming caffeine and sugar in mass quantities. My conclusion is that your body's natural energy when you treat it right is way better than the spikes and crashes of added energy supplements.1

This is me too. It's really strange. Coffee in the morning gets me going and gets me pretty wired. I can have espresso before bed and pass out cold. I'm odd. Lol.

As for the sugar, I have cut out a lot as well. After the initial "detox" it gets sooooo much better. Your body just needs time to adjust to the changes.1
-
I'm an insomniac and super sensitive to caffeine, so I get where you're coming from OP. If I have any caffeine after 2pm, I'm up all night. I tried cutting it out completely for a couple of years, and I hated it. I now limit myself to one cup of coffee or tea in the AM, and that seems to be my happy medium.
