My runners vanity is kicking in now. If I somehow run 3 more miles today, with my 5 tomorrow, I'll break 200 for the month.

The run brain is tempted. The thinking brain says no!
Or you could do the 3 extra tomorrow after the 5 miler.

I vote not worth the risk. It's a meaningless number in the long term. Next month I suspect you are scheduled to kill 200 milles?

Well done to everyone making their April mileage goals!

@7lenny7 This is a bit late, but good luck in your race... Or rather, hope it went well!

@RespectTheKitty Glad your hip is feeling better!

@lporter229 Sorry about your running break but you are wise to take a self-imposed break to clear things but before they get worse.

    @MobyCarp Good luck tomorrow!

@garygse Wow, you've made great progress!

    TOTAL: 100.1/100 miles

Met my 100 mile goal yesterday. I have 9 more miles scheduled for tomorrow to close out the month. Ran 5 last night in 47:42 (9:31 min/mile). Meant to take it easier around 9:40, but that didn't seem to happen. Feet fell asleep the last 1.5 miles, and apparently not feeling my feet helps me run faster? I think this is a hydration issue as I've noticed it a little more frequently as the weather has gotten warmer but I may try a different lacing technique if it continues.

Had a blast working as a road marshal for the Cap City Half Marathon this morning. I was stationed at the first turn right before mile 1, so I was done pretty early after the last of the 5K runners passed. It was really neat to see the elite too. I walked down to the finish line afterward but the time clock was at 1:20, so I had already missed the winners finish. Leonard Korir won overall male in 1:03:04 and Natosha Rodgers won overall female in 1:10:45. Natosha was running up in the pack of the fastest males when she passed me and I remember thinking how she was going out too fast...guess not!

Just as I was getting back to my car, a little over 2 hours after gun time, the storms hit and they had to close the course. I saw a handful of people post that they were at mile 12 or 12.5 when they were pulled off the course. I know how disappointed I would have been if this were me and I'm bummed for those that didn't get to finish.

@JessicaMcB That looks like a great run!

Speaking of Good runs, best part of my run today was this conversation:
Other guy: Western States is a bucket list race for me.
Me: Yeah, me too, it would be awesome
OG: but Badwater is out of the question.
Me: yeah, that's too crazy, even for me.

Nice to meet up with someone who has my same mania.

@MNLittleFinn regarding Badwater- I listened to Bart Yasso talk a few years ago and he mentioned Badwater. That's a monster. You never know where running will take you, so who knows if some day you'll find yourself at that starting line.

If I remember right, they are selective and limited on runners permitted to participate. I think even Bart knew someone that got him in.
