Machka (sorry I can’t find your first name) good for you on the bicycling. You and Pip excel in that department-definitely keeps you gals in great shape!
That's my name. It's what I've been called for the last 15 years or so.I was tested for allergies about ten years ago and have a ton of them, they wanted me to take shots. I declined and the allergies actually weren’t much of a problem for a number of years. Recently, I think the wet weather has produced a lot of fungus and molds my system wasn’t used to.
I've been in a desensitisation program for the last 2 or 3 years. It started with shots once a week for the first year or so, and then went to shots once a month. I think I'm nearing the end of that, and will likely to go quarterly shots or something.
It seems to be working.
My main allergy is dust mites, so I also take steps to reduce the chances of dust mites in the house, like washing everything with Eucalyptus detergent and using hot water, spraying the carpets with Eucalyptus spray, etc. When I was diagnosed, I washed all my clothing and all the bedding. Everything was clean, but it had all been in storage for a while (we had been travelling and moving for a couple years) and I found I was experiencing reactions every time I put something on.
Last Christmas I had a bad reaction ... I figure it was all the dusty decorations at home, at work, and everywhere!2 -

I figured out a long time ago that if I waited for someone to walk with me. I'd never get out of the house so I started walking with something to listen to. Now I am never alone

Got home late Thursday and still having jet lag issues. Time difference is 12 hours so it may take awhile to sort out. Read a lot of pages tonight and hope I got a good idea of what it's going on in All of your lives.
Will try to post more photos soon. Lots of laundry to catch up m.

Good Evening My Dear Friends,
Just a quickie tonight. Busy day but a good one. Long day at the Moose for Installation of officers, first for the Women and then the Men. I haven’t even finished packing but close so will get it done in the morning before we hit the road to Charleston. Thanks for all the good wishes. I really will think of you while I’m on the cruise even though I won’t be checking in.
MicheleNC, the eyelash extensions really are just false eyelashes put on by a tech at some type of salon…..beauty salon, nail salon, facial salon. These last about 3 weeks. The nice thing is you don’t wear eye liner or mascara with them, only shadow. The trick is to not let them put them too thick, which she did this time. That makes them look less real to me. But ya know, with my glasses you normally don’t even know I have eye lashes. Ill try to get a picture to post when I get home. This place charges $25 and I have actually heard of places charging $100 or more.
Heather, have a wonderful adventure and I love the pictures so far.
Lanette, I think you asked about the cruise. Its five nights out of Charleston which is a two hour drive from my house to the port. We go to Nassau and Freeport in the Bahamas.
Pip, happy birthday to you while I'm gone.
I’ll miss you my friends. Hope you are all well, healthy and happy while I’m cruisng.
I Love you

Katla - Thanks for the quote on stress.
DJ - Congratulation on being the Member of the Year.
I am sure there would be a lot of laughter if we all went cruising together.
Joyce - I hope you feel better soon
Karen in Virginia - So glad to hear that Jilli is better now. Quite a scare.
Watched a movie at home this morning with DH. We never do this as he is usually deciding that there is some type of work that we just have to get done. It was about Bessie Smith and quite interesting.
DD is getting her 2nd bathroom done. It doesn't surprise me that DSIL is finally working on it because he wants to sell the house. It will be nice for them to have a 2nd bathroom. It should have been done years ago. Most of the work is being done by friends. She has slowly accumulated all the supplies for this herself. I don't want them to move even if it is just to another part of the city. Yes, I know that is selfish but it's the truth.
We took the recycling, worked in the trailer, dropped the dog off at DS and then went to the movie with friends.
Fate of the Furious. Whole lot of action and very little real acting. My DH enjoyed the cars and could name them all, our friend enjoyed the guns and could name them all. We went out for coffee after the movie and talked about their upcoming trip across to Nova Scotia.
Took the dog for a walk and watched some television.

Hi Friends. Been on fitness pal for one week. Down only 1 lb. but Im working on it. I will Never, Never Never give up! Have a great night All!!!
I signed up here, meticulously weighed and logged everything, and remained within my 1250 cal limit.
For 10 days ....... I lost nothing.
And then on the 11th day, I started losing weight.
So if you're doing 1 lb in a week, you're doing well.4 -
Good morning ladies, so interesting to read all your stories. Lots of creativity, hard work, adventure and sadly challenges and health issues.
Today is weigh-in day and I am at 200.2. So it's possible to enter onederland next week. I haven't been there in years
I made an interesting black bean burger recipe yesterday, we will try them tonight but I think I have learned the trick as to why most veggie burgers don't stick together. You put the beans in the oven until the liquid has all disappeared and the beans start to crack. I made 8 patties and they held together beautifully. Then I froze them and we have 4 meals. So tonight's menu is lemony lentil soup followed by the black bean patty with a cucumber pineapple salad.
My DH continues to do Leslie Sansone with me. I have to look away when he demonstrates his lack of coordination with the most simplest of steps but bless his heart. I love that we do this together.
Wishing all of you a happy day!

Morning, ladies,
Sitting in the room at the lake lodge, with the cool air coming in the window and the patio door, both of which we left open last night (both have screens, of course). Corey is gently snoring away about ten feet away--don't know how he sleeps through me making coffee and rustling around, but he always does.
Came down with a sinus infection yesterday, so slept most of the six-hour drive up into Arkansas. Feeling somewhat better this morning, snagged some over-the-counter stuff that at least let me sleep. On my second cup of coffee, and not feeling nearly as horrible as yesterday, so hopefully a better day today.
The pics are our daughter, Kelsey, with son Tyler in the background, Corey with the grands, with Haley in his lap and Tyler cheesing for the camera, and the view from our room out over the lake. Don't know what today holds, but looking forward to whatever comes.
Love y'all,
Lisa - in Arkansas for a few more days...

Bought my scooter on Friday, this one https://www.microkickboard.com/micro-black
So far it's working as intended, I have saved sufficient time in the trip between the train station and the office that I'm catching an earlier train. Steps are down, only did 12000 today instead of 15000 plus, but active calories are up, so I'll take it as a win. Plus it's fun to ride.7 -
morning ladies~
went to sleep at 3:30 yesterday afternoon, not wanting to listen to Mr Crabby Pants and was awake at 2:30 a.m. , gonna go wash my hair and get my lunch together working 9-5 today.. Hope everyone had a great weekend4 -
I'd like to join your group.
I just turned 50 in February. I have a husband and a 14-year-old daughter. I also help take care of my mom who lives about 5 miles from me. She's currently in remission from Multiple Myeloma.
I'm 5'2" and currently weigh 170.2 pounds and would like to get down to 120 by losing a pound a week. I was in this same situation as a college freshman (Go TCU!) and did it but wasn't doing it as healthily then. I also work out by going to Spin and Barre classes. I went four times last week.

Had eye checkup this morning after cataract surgery everything Ok but have to wait at least another 3-5 weeks for eye test for new specs. Clinic told me my eyes are dry and I need to use drops. I've never been told this before and haven't had any symptoms. Wonder if the antibiotic drops been using after the op has caused this?

Welcome to everyone who is new!
Dana: Your swollen leg looks incredibly painful.
Beth: Glad your knee is better.
Lenora: So sorry about the trouble your family is having; hope it works out.
Marcelyn: Chigger bites are the worst! In our part of France they call them the "August bugs" because that is when they appear. One of the first summers we were in our house, my niece was visiting. She, my DH and my two sons all played out in the field next to us. The next day everyone but me was covered in itchy red bumps. My husband had over fifty. We didn't know what it was, so we called the doctor. He came and explained. I have never been so glad that I am not an outdoor person!
Heather: Hot Asian Prawn Soup sounds lovely. Do you have a recipe?. Sounds like you are enjoying your La Rochelle trip.
Sarah: Congratulations on the weight loss progress!
Lisa: what a peaceful looking lake!
Our weekend with friends in the Alsace friends was really enjoyable. I managed to stay under my calorie goals by choosing MFP-friendly food. Asparagus is a regional speciality, which I enjoyed while tasting the various accompanying sauces in small amounts. I split a tarte flambée with my husband, which is an incredibly thin cross between a pizza and a pie crust, topped with caramelized onions and bacon. I also had a local fish in a mustard cream sauce the last day. I did trade some of the nutritious food I had planned one night to be able to have a half slice of a lovely Black Forest Cake! It was worth every bite!
l was really happy to stick to my MFP goals, but still enjoy the local food and feel good about what I was eating.
Leigh in France7 -
Good morning! Chilly 48f this morning. I did 30 minutes on my exercise peddler! Yeah me!
Leigh My leg is a bit painful if I stand or walk too much. The swelling is going down but the doctor said that it takes a long time after the blood clot.
The Black Forest cake sounds yummy!
Kate I glad you are taking care of your eye appointments. I need to do that too. It's been 3 years. Last springs my puppy grabbed my glasses off my night table and scratched them and I had to have the lenses replaced. Cost $500 for progressive lenses. That dog!!
Lisa What Lake are you staying on? Lake Hamilton is just a block from our place, so many lakes in Arkansas. I hope you have a lovely time here!
LuAnn Welcome! I love the group. Friendly and helpful. I look forward to reading the posts everyday.
Mary Way to go!! I wish I could get more exercise. I'm trying with my peddler but with back surgery last year and a recent blood clot it's been difficult to get moving.
Joany51 Sorry I don't know your name. Way to go on your weight loss! Keep it up!
Marcelyn Nothing worse than chiggers. That's one reason I don't go down by our creek. I don't appreciate those things at all! You know one female can get on you, then little spread out from her. You can't see them except if the female has a bunch of babies on her then you'll see a tiny orange dot. Creepy bugs. They burrow into your skin! I'll stop there! Ugh!!
I guess I'll go back in the house it's getting chilly outside! Have a great day!
Dana in Arkansas3 -
Dana- Thank you! Any type of exercise that gets you moving will be a benefit! Sorry to hear about your back surgery and blood clot! That definitely does change the course of exercise! Barbie recently had back surgery and can relate to your circumstances.

Mary: I have no video of the fake cow for now, but I think he'll be doing another clinic here in a few weeks. It looks like a black and white Angus/Hereford stuffed toy. It hangs from a long "clothesline" that runs the length of the arena, and is moved back and forth by remote control. I've seen TV horse trainers use a similar device many times, but they've just had a white flag on the line, not a stuffed toy. My teacher has two horses. One worked the first day of the clinic and the other worked the second day. I took lessons on the one who worked second day until recently, and he was awesome at the clinic. (He is awesome all of the time.) He was totally focused and I have no doubt he'd do great with live cows.
Becca: You are a brilliant money manager. We like to have breakfast for dinner regularly. It is good, quick, and easy to make.
DJ: Enjoy your cruise and tell us all about it.
Joany51: "Never give up" is just the right attitude.
Karen in VA: Good news about Jilli! Yay!!!
Sharon in Lethbridge: We haven't been to a movie since the Star Wars with Carrie Fischer came out. We'll be very likely to go to the next one, even without her. We also like movies based on Marvel Comics.
Lisa: What a beautiful spot! I love the family pics, too. :flowerforyou:
Pamafgill: I haven't ridden a scooter since I can't even remember when. Yours looks like fun.
LuAnn in Dallas: Welcome!
Kate UK: It sounds like you had both of your eyes done at once. DH had one done, then the second a month later. He was directed to use medicated drops for a period of time with each eye, and he still needs prednisone drops in the second eye. I'm sure the drops are helping him heal.
Yoga today! Yay!!!! I need to stretch out. I am very hopeful to ease some aches and pains that I earned standing in the cold at the stable while watching the cutting horse clinic. 100% of the clinic students were women, and it was a mix of twenty-somethings and women 50+.

Lenora - I got a new rug - better? (We will eventually paint the walls).
Also I thought I'd throw in a couple of pictures from this weekend's ride. People used to like to see them.

Trying to post pics of cruise. Hubby scanned them in so don't know if will work.
