Worst part of losing weight?

As if suggesting you aren't happy now? I've ran into similar reactions. I'm always amazed that others have an opinion on your body or what you're doing.3 -

I am more than happy to help and even workout with them to start with... but I want to advice and support people that have the motivation or really want to find some support to get motivated.... But why would you ask so much when you have zero intention of doing it? or working hard for it? usually I answer simple.. eating right and working out.. if you arent interested, why would you ask a million questions?4 -

For some people, it's validating when they ask but [hear] it's more than just sitting on their couch and eating 1 bowl of ice cream vs. 2. I've realized that people are more comfortable when they ask and accept it's impossible for them. At that moment, they are motivated - but once you say how long it took... all bets off. It goes back to people hoping/wishing for a magic pill. Or "Wow, you ate 1 carrot every 7 minutes for 32 days and lost weight!", seems easier than "oh, you just ate less and burned more than you ate?".1 -
Replacing/altering your clothes.
I have some beautiful skirts and party dresses that are now way too big, but they're so cute and one of a kind. I don't want to throw them out or donate them especially because they'd now look even better on me then they did when I was bigger, so I'm staring down the long process of either learning to sew properly so I can fix them or paying a seamstress to take them all in.
It hurts me soul.3 -

I like to eat. A lot. lol I set my goal at 1/2lb a week to lose so that I can eat as much as possible. So anytime I have to go down in calories it sucks. Oh well for now I still get 1700 a day and with working out I average around 2000. I would be a lot happier at like 2500-3000. Like I said, I really like to eat. Too bad I'm a 5'2" woman.
Anyway, is there anything you don't like about losing weight?
Hahaha! I agree with the lower calorie requirements. It's saddening.
A few years back, I went out to eat with my dad. He said, "good thing you work out! You REALLY like to eat!" He didn't say it in a malicious way but I still will never drop it whenever I see him. Your post just reminded me of the I like to eat comment!

Exactly. Thats usually i tell them. Yes, you can have 2 shakes and one meal a day. what is going to happen when you start eating like normal? if you want real changes, you need to work hard for it. It will not happen overnight. if you lose 1 lb a week how many will be there in a year?3 -
@JaydedMiss my loose stomach skin looks like a set of curtains hanging to the floor when I do planks. Now considering surgery consult.
I hate that I needed to lose this weight to save my life, but keeping the weight on was a protection from so many issues. Now I have to actually deal with the issues and feel the emotions instead of burying them with food. Self sabotage and binging is always around the corner.
I also hate people trying to tell me how to dress.

That can be linked to thyroid issues... Which can happen from dieting...
It may just be having less fat, but potentially something to consider1 -
1. Sagging skin
2. Thinking that all your problems would be magically solved...lol. Just moves your focus to something else because you are no longer hyper-focused on losing .4 -
Having to join the itty bitty titty committee. Farewell bresticles!12

The best and worst part for me was knowing how it works. Once you know, there's no excuse and you are 100% accountable. Ignorance was bliss at one point when I had a bad metabolism, unlucky genetics or whatever else I told myself. That was the psychological hard part of losing weight for me
This is it for me too (along with slowly diminishing calories because I love to eat). I just can't be blissfully ignorant anymore, which has its charm in a way that is hard to explain. I mean, yes, I would eat that cake, but at the back of my mind I'm aware exactly what I'm doing. No way to turn off my brain. I did not blame things on my slow metabolism, I knew I was fat because I ate too much, but it's just that I rarely pondered the connection. Now that innocence has been lost.9 -
Bitterness. I'm angry and relieved at the same time: All those years of "knowing about calories" but still thinking I should eat this, and must avoid that.
Clothes, that was a surprise - some garments make me look fatter than when I was fat.5 -

Oh god, this!
Also, shrinking boobs. Mine look like deflating balloons.3 -
when at a social event/party with friends and I say no thanks to wine, chips or that extra you like to keep away from for a good while, and they point out to me that I should enjoy myself-just this one time- They have a hard time accepting the fact that I am actually really enjoying myself, both with their company and that I'm able to eat just enough of what is served to keep me in tune with my weightloss.
(What I did with this was to say to my friends; I am enjoing myself a lot,and if it's difficult for you that I am trying to loose weight I can not participate next time, so please don't worry about me not enjoying myself- because I really do )8 -
vespiquenn wrote: »This might be an odd one, but I don't know if it's just that I'm more confident or it actually has to do with looks. But since I started my fitness journey, I have had to deal with many aggressive males. I've been sexually assaulted in a bar, followed in dark areas, etc. This never happened before, so I can't really figure out what to attribute it to. Either way, I really hate it because I don't like being fearful of places or people.
This. Some men can be really, really aggressive and can't take a hint or being ignored. Some days I do miss being invisible. I'm so sorry to hear about your experience.
For me also it's when people ask me how did I lose 80 pounds and kept it off and look disappointed and say they can't do that (working out and watching their calories).
Someone told me they didn't know I how did it. They gave up alcohol and treats for Lent and they didn't lose any weight. They didn't keep track of what they ate, plus it's going to take a whole lot longer then 40 days. I've been at this (weight loss/maintenance) for 5 years. lol3 -
The worst part? I cant stop fantasising about food!! also cant stop checking out online food stores for desserts! this level of food porn is killing me1

The regret over wasted years of being overweight/inactive and seeing the permanent toll that it took on my body.
Wanting to smack people who go on about how gaining muscle is much more difficult than losing fat.5 -

OMFG! "angry old man"! I can't stop laughing!
I agree with you OP, about the losing calories as you lose weight. It's also harder to hit the same calorie burn goal every day because your BMR goes down. At 170lbs, I could hit 2250 calories daily. 30 pounds lighter and it's a struggle to hit 2100.0 -
Not being able to drink without logging and regretting every sip.2
