It kinda is obvious because if it was something that simple I'm pretty sure I'd know. And I have seen a doctor. They did test and took my blood and said that I'm fine and they don't know what else to tell me. But I mean you can't tell me someone loosing that much weight out of nowhere? I was 112 and now I can't get above 87. I'll get up to 87 and then drop right back down.

i had a friend n she was 97 n 5.6 n she cant gain weight doesnt matter how much she ate. she gain 10 lbs after working out for a couple of months but she lose it all whenever she stops. its like her body only started to absorb more when its forced to. maybe u have a similar condition n working out regularly will force ur body to absorb the vitamins n nutrients in the food that u eat. of course her doctor didnt have a clue on whats going on.

'we r not what we eat, we r what we can absorb'

go to see other doctors n pick up lifting slowly.

    GOOD LUCK!

Thank you everyone! And yeah. Diabetes runs in my family. My grandpa had his leg amputated and his toes on his other due to diabetes. So I got tested for it and they said everything came back normal. I'm starting to lift tho. My legs have been hurting for like a week straight. No joke. It hurts to walk. lol. So I took a break cuz I have a job and can't be walking around all cripple. But I'm gonna start again here. Anything I can take to help so I'm not so sore the next day?

DOMS is a normal thing and will reduce over time. Also, dont be overly aggressive with the weight so your body can adjust. But ironically, the best thing for it is to move. The blood flow will help the soreness.

I didn't read the whole thread (only the first 6 pages) but I wanted to note that you may want to see a gastro-intestinal specialist if you still aren't having good results.

My sister was loosing weight at a drastic rate and all her blood work looked fine. Our doctor was convinced she was anorexic. Turns out, high stress plus growing (she was in her teens at the time) was causing her to not absorb food. Not to be vulgar, but everything just went right through her. A gastroenterologist took samples for a month (kinda ick, I know) but they determined which foods in particular weren't being absorbed and helped develop a plan to get her weight up. She will always be small and have to be extra conscious of her weight and what she eats, but she is healthy now and knows which foods aid her progress. She has less absorption issues when she isn't stressed/depressed-- so please consider your mental health as well. Depression, anxiety and stress can cause a variety of physical issues.

I know for a while my sister made shakes out of ensure or boost mixed with ice cream, half and half and peanut butter.

We also used to have a timer set up to remind her to eat (she also had appetite issues), so if that's a possibility for you, consider having a cal threshold you need to meet every few hours, and plan a meal/snack for every 2-3 hours.

    Good luck!
