I am not sure this is the right place for these thoughts, but I am hoping it will be okay. I shared my weight the other day. It was a small loss and I was okay with it. Tuesday I ran 1.3 miles during my interval workout. I was so happy! Today, I have ate horrible and wasn't able to work out due to family obligations. Why do I do so good and then have bad day? I know this is what I want but sometimes I think how busy life can get and maybe it would be easier to eat whatever. Why is it so hard to stay focused on something that you know in the end will make you so happy?2

These are good thoughts! Thanks for sharing. I totally understand what you mean about having a day that is so stressful and you just want to not care! I think the key is staying consistent. To lose weight, you need persistence not perfection. This means that you will struggle and have some days that are not as good. You may have one less workout one week. But, you keep going! If you are doing well the majority of the time, your weight should go down. You just have to ignore the bad choices and move on. I think it gets easier with practice.5 -
Thank you, michy84. I needed to hear this and will focus on the long haul versus the hiccups along the way.2

Hello. I know it's hard to keep up the good work constantly. I find when I've been good and see results I stay good for longer but when I have a bad day it's hard to get back into it. I try to remind myself to keep my head down and be as good as possible from this minute on. Don't let a bad day turn into a bad week.
Good luck

You're welcome! I am glad I was able to help!0 -
If you've ever forgotten to brush your teeth; you don't get discouraged and stop brushing for the next few days. The same same thing applies to poor food choices. You move on and get back to your healthy routine.4

INQ - There's the age old question. I don't think anyone knows the answer, but everyone here has been through it and has those days, probably many many of those days, so this is definitely the place to post it.
One thing about eating is this: the desire to eat is in the part of your brain that controls physical needs that are *essential* to life: sleeping, breathing, eating, drinking, things that we can not live without. That is one reason it is difficult to control or override the urge to eat, even when we know we don't want to do it! The desire to get a puppy is in a different part of the brain and easier to override (sometimes) . So remember that when you slip up and whatever you do, don't beat yourself up, that can have self-defeating consequences.
Instead, like others have said, focus on the big picture and find a way to *genuinely* congratulate yourself on your successes and believe the future holds for you what you make of it. And if you don't really feel that, keep reaffirming, your thinking will change your feelings!!!
Keep up the good work!
**That is not me in the picture. That is Mel B who is reminding me to do some sit-ups because she does 600 each day.0 -

I was less Yesterday morning 234.8 I started my new lifestyle 02/14/2017 at 248.6 and I can't get past 13.8 lbs. loss. I see others have lost twice as much in this time I just don't get it, so I joined this challenge to help motivate me to keep on, I've logged on to MFP for 84 days straight and I'm very proud of that.
