Good Morning, I am coming off a defunct BSR race and trying to get my mojo back. Looking for a running partner to keep me on track, I am in philly EOL section. My pace is 15:45.1

@ereck44 - Sorry about your coworker and new boss. Sounds quite stressful.
@midwesterner85 - congrats on the 1st in AG!I'm sure you were disappointed when you realized what had happened on the distance.
@skippygirlsmom - I wouldn't be able to run without food for that long!
Programming competition is this morning. Woke up early for CA time but not early enough to run prior to meeting students. So going to drop them off and come back to hotel and set off for run. I've mapped out a route from hotel to Stanford and around campus. Need to scour the route for potential bathroom stops!

Way to go @carolineb81 on signing up for your first full marathon!!
@MNLittleFinn - I always heard that you're not a real runner until you full on crap your shorts.I guess I'm still working on that. Came close a couple times, and have even had to dart off into the woods once. Maybe that should count.

Today was bright, clear blue skies and 49 degrees! Beautiful morning for a run!
I was a little stiff at first from yesterday's long run but loosened up during the second mile. It was a good run and my pace was up with the cooler morning.
After my run and after my recovery drink my right quad was complaining a little. I never felt it before that. Guess I better keep an eye on that.

Ran the Angry Unicorn Half Marathon today in Matanuck, Rhode Island. As some of you may recall i was worried about doing this race as up to a month ago I hadn't run over 90 minutes since my last half in October. Well, I'll just cut to the chase - it went way better than expected and I got a new PR by 18 minutes! 2:21:07 official time but that is gun time - there was no net time. My Garmin I feel like I timed almost perfectly says 2:20:20.
The weather was almost perfect, started out around 55 degrees and got up to maybe 65 during the race. It felt a little hotter than that at times but it was not too humid thankfully. I was a bit disappointed that the route had minimal ocean views as that was what I was looking forward to, but it was really a run to the beach and then back with most of the route just views of trees. It was mostly flat or gently rolling - Garmin says 0-59 feet above sea level.
I don't have a lot of details to recap, it felt pretty steady throughout which was amazing to me. The first mile was my fastest at 10:19 and I was worried I had gone out too fast. But other than mile 7, which was 11:19, all the rest were between 10:30-10:50 pace. I was having trouble doing math in my head and I really wanted to finish under 2:30 and when I reached the halfway point got so excited that I *could* potentially really beat that. But then I panicked that I was going to crash be super disappointed so I had to talk myself through that(mile 7 I guess).
The last 3 miles I just felt carried through by the thought of finishing better than my goal and I had some good music on the playlist. I don't really try to race people but my coach sometimes talks about setting your sights on someone in the distance and "reeling them in" and I tried that visualization a couple of times and it worked! Helped out by the fact that several of those people had been running much faster and now were walking/slowed way down.
The last half mile I tried to kick it and sprinted it in at the end. I couldn't even believe I had done it and felt so much better than my last half. It was a very small race so there wasn't much to the post-race. But afterwards I drove to the beach nearby and put my feet in the sand and it felt so good. I got some lunch at a local oyster place (and big bloody mary) and then sat on the beach some more. Actually I totally crashed and fell asleep on the beach, the ocean waves, warm sand and cool breeze totally knocked me out. Beats a big post-race party!
Congrats to @ereck44 on your PR and to @NikolaosKey on your big PR as well!
