Hoping to lose 6-8 lbs. I'll be stepping on the scales almost every day because right now I need the daily motivation to get started properly, but I'll be logging it here twice a week.

I was away from the 30th of June and just got back. I was expecting my weight to have gone up quite a bit, but I am pleasantly surprised to have dropped a decent amount. It means, I still made decent choices, even if I didn't realise that was the case.

Bit disappointed so far, I've been working hard to create a big calorie deficit and to only lose 0,7 kg is kind of daunting.
You've done really well so far. It's only been a few days, so don't be too hard on yourself. I started at about the same a few months ago and have dropped an average of about 600g a week (with a lot of plateaus). Losing 700g in 6 days is a great achievement. That's a healthy amount to lose weekly, anymore and you may struggle to keep it off in the long run.
Just be careful, your calorie intake may be too low and that can cause you to plateau as well. Try and stick to a minimum of 1200 and make sure its good carbs, like brown rice, quinoa, sweet potato, oats and try to avoid any white processed carbs, they do nothing for you.

I'm on holidays starting tonight, so no weigh-ins until mid-August.

Not surprised I had a bit of a gain - was never in the house & had a short trip out of town - but hoping that I can at least maintain while away. It will be tough staying on track while on holiday for three weeks & no scale.

So I visited my mom July 8 weekend. It's hard to eat healthy there and hard to say no to mom who is going through cancer treatments. But I'm back on track. I would actually love to be 149 by the end of the month.9 -
