TIL between 1977 and 2015, the college textbook industry has increased its prices by 1,041%. This was managed through aggressive business tactics such as forcing students to buy new versions of the same textbook and incorporating more pictures into a text to increase its length.

Many teachers don't even teach from the text. Every time an edition changes, the students are either unable to sell back the previous edition or get next to nothing for it. It's a scam industry. I worked for the campus book store during my college years.

It truly is a scam. The "version" changed semester to semester and once you bought it, it was worth nothing. I would've gotten way better grades if I could afford all my books. One engineering textbook was near $300.

Then you have the teachers who require the students to buy their personally made, cheaply binded study guides that change frequently. At a bargain rate of 75 dollars or so.

It's sticky but if you keep working it, it will spread out and bake up well.

I want to try it. Sounds so good and healthy.

Definitely eliminates the need for oil. I do lightly oil the pan but that's it. And it's more like a sour dough which is great for me since that's my favorite.

I rue the day I introduced my son to those spaghetti things. I put tomato sauce (ketchup) on them and called them bloody spiders. Now he will invariably ask for them when I am most drained!!

PS I have not bought more spaghetti after we ran out.

TIL when Tater Tots first hit store shelves in 1956, people did not buy them because they were very inexpensive and there was no perceived value. When the price was raised by stores, people began buying the product.

How long did you bake it, and at what temp?

450°, 10-15 minutes depending on toppings. I also use more like 1.5 to 2 cups of self rising flour after kneading.
