, I'm in! This is my very first round!!! Hoping to break my plateau that I've been in for about a week. Got to 168 but have been hovering around 170 the last few days...

8/21 - 170.2 -frustrated that I'm hovering at 170 the last few days. Though after a weekend of being a bit looser on my diet, it could be worse.
8/22 - 170.0 - at least there's some progress even if it's small. Actually a bit surprised since I went over my cal count last night. I did well for most of the day but caved in to chipotle tacos for dinner. I'll do better today!
8/23 - 168.8 - yes! That's more like it! Was below cal count yesterday and went to a zumba class! :-) going to try to go to the gym again tonight. Maybe work on some strength training.
8/24 - 168.0 - alright! I'm hoping to break 168 before the end of the week. Haven't gotten below that yet. I was under calorie count yesterday (though over on fat). Went to gym and burned 200 cals doing various cardio exercises (stationary bike, treadmill, elliptical). Also worked on arms. Overall a good day!
8/25 168.2 - was slightly afraid to check my weight today. I stayed under cals yesterday but had pasta for dinner and didn't exercise. A bit sad that it went up slightly, but not the worst. May not make my below 168 goal this week, but maybe by the end of the round??? Going to go try a pilates class today.
8/26 - 168.2 - I guess 168 is the new hurdle. seemed to have gotten past 170 (knock on wood). At first I was annoyed that there was no movement but I caught a glimpse of myself wearing shorts in the mirror and...starting to see (very small) definition in the legs. I still feel sore from pilates yesterday too (the good kind of sore). Celebrating the small victories!
8/27 - 170.2 - nooooooo! not super surprising though. Had a big breakfast yesterday then wine and fries later in the night. I paid for it...

Huh. Must've been that five-pound barbell I ate (I'll do anything to get out of doing curls). But seriously, I haven't been doing anything different, so I will take these fluctuations as just part of the game. And, at any rate, being healthy is more important than being thin and as long as I am taking care to eat a healthful diet in healthful proportions and get some exercise, I can weather these ups and downs. Although I would prefer not to.

Back still! Did the yoyo thing last round; ended up where I started 144.4. I vow to be more conscious this round and to exercise more - hard to do lately because of family commitments. I'm looking to get to 143 or below without bouncing back. I started midway through Round 2 at 153.9 on 4/29. Slow going but better than nothing. I'm at roughly .5 a week loss. I need to get a little more serious this round.

8/21 144.4 - 45 on ellip and 1 ice cream nutty buddy. Did forgo the enchiladas I made yesterday and had a salad with the chicken and black beans on it. My goal today is to keep carbs no more than 50 and calories 1000-1200. Happy Eclipse everyone!
8/22 143.2 Woo Hoo! Hope some of this loss is fat. Now to pay attention so that I continue the downward. 75 min on ellip and made a crustless mushroom quiche - high in protein, tasty and satisfying and low in cals and carbs. More ellip today and hopefully get to gym. Remember, you are beautiful.
8/23 144 Ah phooey... knew it was too big of a drop all at once. Still, down almost half a pound since Monday. Gotta get me to gym today by hook or by crook. Did 60 min on ellip and ate within cal, below on carbs. Merry losing, ya'll.
8/24 144 Got to gym yesterday - love it. Makes me feel like Wonder Woman. Ate within cals and carbs. Waiting for a whoosh. Since the weekend is coming a lunch out with friends, I'll be extra good today and tomorrow.
8/25 143 Again! LOL Surprised as my son asked me to make Chinese drumsticks which have a lot of soy sauce = sodium. Happy Friday!
8/26 144.8 There's the sodium and 2 slices of pizza and mixed drink. Higher than when this round started. Off to camp out and maybe get some exercise. Didn't make it to gym as I'd only had 3 hours sleep. I want to see the scale say in the 142's before this decade ends.

8/21: 165.8 Very pleased. Yesterday was Take Mom to the Movies day. I pre-planned salted, buttered popcorn & soda into my meal log. Didn't add salt to the popcorn after all (and tasted just fine without). Proud of my changes in thought patterns. My former self would have written off the entire day as a "cheat day," throwing in a movie hot dog and/or candy too.
8/22: 167.0 Tried going to the restroom one more time after morning weigh-in to drop me in the 166's. Tee hee, tee hee. I'm so silly! If this is as high as it goes this round, I'll be happy.
8/23: 167.2 I'm sure this has *nothing* to do with the leftover 7-layer dip, chips, and pies my roommate brought home from a fundraiser on Monday. The quicker I eat it, the sooner it will no longer be a temptation!
8/24: 165.8 Good deal. Average over last 10 days is now under 167. I'm loving the overall downward trend!

8/27: 166.2 Rut-roh. TOM = scale jumps around like crazy! Been known to vary as much as 2.5 pounds in a day. Weeeee!

8/22 - forgot to weigh in this morning. :-( This will take some getting use to. I ate left overs yesterday but managed to stay within my calories intake. To much bread though. We got these awesome buns and I don't want to waist them. I am thinking about trying not drinking for a month. Sept is pretty quite. I wonder if I can do it. 50 min of walking and 60 squats

8/21 - 71.5kg (157.6) - happy with this as I feel I have lost weight over the last round even if the start and finish don’t reflect it. This is a good weigh in for me considering it’s after a weekend and TOM.
8/22 - 69.8kg!!!!!!!! (153.9) - goal made!
I find 5:2 tough on what I call my ‘starvation days’ but that excruciating willpower all seems worthwhile when I’m finally dropping! Only 3.5kg to go until I’m back to where I left off and changed directions for awhile. And then it’s straight to my goal range!
8/23 - 70.5kg (155.4) - expected after a bottle of wine. Still riding high on yesterday’s result.
8/24 - 70.7kg (155.9) - all good, surprised I’m still 70 something at this time of the week.
8/25 - 70.5kg (155.4) - pretty content with staying around the same weight so far this week. I won’t be doing 5:2 next week due to a work trip involving lots of paid meals so a bit disappointed this is already going to affect my good streak. I finally feel like I’m back on track and seeing and feeling results. Hopefully the trip away doesn’t set me back too much.
8/26 - 71.1kg (156.8) - going to have to cop that after pasta and lots of wine. Think I beat my PB OF 26:35 at Park Run this morning though

8/22 125! - I know I obviously didn't lost 3/4 of a pound overnight, but hopefully this is a real lost that has just been masked until now. Still quite chuffed about this. I'm hoping to get down to 124 by thursday (my weekly weigh in, I weigh everyday but this one i use for comparison and do other measurements) even if it is 124.75. On the right track, but won't be too gutted if it goes up again as long as I keep eating healthy.
8/23 125.75 Back up to where I was haha. I had a lot of sodium yesterday and did an initial test for strength training challenges, which involved going to the maximum amount of reps I could do, so possibility I am retaining water for that as well. Oh well. I also finished level 1 of the 30DS, so I'm ready to move onto Level 2 now. I feel smaller, and I know I'm stronger, so it's just a matter of time till the scale represents it. My official weigh in is tomorrow, so I wonder If I'll reach my goal of being within 124.
8/24 -126.75 I'm actually quite upset about this, because it seems to imply I didn't lose any weight this week and that the days on the scale were just lying to me i guess it's possible it's because I'm still sore from exercise yesterday? Idk. On plus side I've lost 1 cm from my hips, thigh and arm, and 1/2 cm from my waist since last week (but they could always be off...so)
8/25 -126.25 I'm upset and annoyed as the fact I'm back up here seems to suggest I haven't lost any weight and this has all just been a natural fluctuation of about 2lbs. Which means I've lost nothing in over two weeks
8/26 - 124.5 - Well this is nice! But I'm still very confused about the fluctuations. Hopefully the trend continues downwards. Glad I didn't decide to say screw it to my diet yesterday when my weight wasn't doing what I had hoped. Hopefully it continues going down.
8/27 - 124.75- Welp, back up but not by much and I know I felt bloated this morning. Hopefully it sticks to this. Seems I'm losing just about 1lb a week.

8/21- 159.94 I doubt the weight is correct, but I'll take it for now. Exhausted today and almost caved to fast food for dinner. Instead, I chose a refrigerated soup and half a cheese sandwich for dinner. Hoping to get some food prep done tomorrow so the week runs easier.
8/22-159.72 Another tiring day here. Haven't had energy and my sleep schedule is off. Need to get back to taking my vitamins.
8/23- 159.5 My back pain has flared up, so I haven't done much more than take medication and sleep all day. Hoping tomorrow is a better day.
8/24- 159.94 Absolutely no real reason for the gain other than normal fluctuation. Remaining under calories. Hope the scale is nicer to me tomorrow.
8/25- 158.84 Tried the scale 4 different times to make sure my scale wasn't misbehaving. I would be thrilled if I could end this challenge at 158. Still maintaining my calories and have plans to make freezer meals this weekend.
8/26- 159.06 Tiny increase today, but still very happy with my progress overall. We had dinner out with friends (Chinese) I did my best to have a small portion because I had no ideas of calories. Also, it was difficult to judge calories since we were sharing several dishes. I served up a small plate all at once so I could visually see my portion size and did not go back for seconds. I think I did fairly well, but we shall see if the scale agrees.
8/27- 158.62 Looks like I probably did ok last night. Very pleased. Today has been quiet with nothing to report.

22/8/2017: 161.5 (NMOS) Retaining water as my knee has flared up and is rather swollen. Barely got my 6500 steps. Slightly over basic calories. But still in the green, despite having wine with dinner last night, and not hydrating enough. C'est la vie!

24/8/2017: 163 (NMOS) This is mostly water weight. We are on holiday, and I choose to have a day off the merry go round yesterday. Cause and effect! Yesterday we went on a boat trip to Rathlin Island. Although under goal, and making as healthy choices as I could, I reckon my sodium intake was way up, and needless to say I didn't hydrate enough to flush it out. Then we went to the ice cream parlour when we got back to the mainland. On top of that we had Chinese takeaway, (more sodium!) as we were knackered after the day walking in the open air and no one wanted to cook. Today I will eat light and hydrate. PS: Did I mention the chocolate?
25/8/2017: 164 (NMOS) Another meal out last night. And didn't hydrate enough. I will be drinking like a fish today. Thank goodness I am going home tomorrow and all these temptations are removed. I will have to buckle down and get rid of this holiday baggage.

27/8/2017: 167.2 Back to my own scale. This is no surprise after a week of eating out and holiday treats.- I know I logged the food but it's difficult to gauge the extra calories added by chefs to 'enhance' the taste, undoubtedly over Goal most days.
- I prepared food for some of the days, but one doesn't want to be a party pooper when eating out as a 'treat' with family.
- Some of the weight will go quickly, because of all the sodium and water retention.
- I will be glugging water back for the few next to days to flush out the system.
- You pay a price when you over-indulge on rich food (in more ways than one).
- One thing I have learned during the last 3 years on here is that being fit and healthy is a lifetime commitment.
- You can over-indulge, but only occasionally, and the scale is your best motivation to make sure it doesn't get out of hand.
- Each day is a new day, and a new opportunity to choose your path.

Hey everybody! I'm in again but with a late start. I've been battling the stomach flu, so just tracking my calories and forcing myself to eat and drink has been hard. Since work started back up 2 weeks ago, I couldn't call off either, so pushing myself to do that has taken all my energy.

8/26: 178.4 I am down 2 oz from my original start weight. This round has been like a roller coaster. I have been up and down everyday, even if I just lose a lb this round, I'll be happy or not go back and stay in the 8s.
8/27: 178.8 What is up with this round? I'd normally be upset, but not this time. Maybe I'm growing in my mental strength to deal with these numbers being all over the place and wonky. I am remaining steady, and that's a positive.

If you just take away 100 or 200 calories, or if you exercise just a little longer, you'll break through it sometimes. Don't let it get you down though. You will get there. Our weight fluctuates for a lot of different reasons. It's like a rollercoaster. Just don't give up.
Thanks for the encouragement. I have realized weighing daily is not my thing. When I look at it weekly sometimes it's a pound or two. So I'll take it in stride.4 -
This is my second Round with this so goal is 179.XX

8/21 - 191.8 met my 50lb milestone today.
8/22 - 191.2 I'm being rewarded plenty for sticking to my guns this round as I stayed in the 193's for 10 days last round. It is sometimes hard to be patient as I seem to spent a lot of time waiting for the scale to show the payoff of my hard work. I see the pattern though and know if I stay motivated the numbers will move steadily downward.
8/23 - 192.2 High salt day, was so good though!
8/24 - 191.4 I knew it wasn't going to stay -- now I'm wondering if I can possibly get into the 8's in this round.

8/23 253.3 Had a little pizza indulgence yesterday, not typical of my eating habits but I'm sure its a factor in my increase. I did walk 8569 steps so that helped offset the bad choice.

Maybe having such an extreme goal (5 pounds in 1 week) and not meeting it is an inspiration for you but your "sigh" indicates it's grinding you down. Celebrate how much you've accomplished over the last couple weeks. I mean, you are down 5 pounds! That's nothing to sneeze at. If you are measuring all your food and eating at a deficit, you WILL lose weight. Not at 5 pounds a week. That's just not doable over the long haul.
Let's do some math. You weigh ca. 230 pounds, are female and I'm going to guess 5'4", 30 y.o., and sedentary. Using https://tdeecalculator.net, that puts your TDEE at about 2100 calories a day, or eating 21,000 calories over the course of a ten-day challenge. To lose 5 pounds, you need to eat at a deficit of 3500 calories for each pound or a deficit of 17,500 over the 10 days -- a deficit of 1750 calories each day leaving you a net of 350 calories per day.
Can you eat only 350 calories per day for 10 days without becoming very sick? No. It's only about half the daily calories of a hospital-based VLCD. What can you do and still be reasonable? A pound or so a week. That's all.
One can, on occasion, gain and/or lose 5 pounds in the course of a week. I just did this week. You dropped six pounds a couple weeks ago. It's mostly water. Water comes and goes.
So, celebrate! You've kept 5-ish pounds off for a couple weeks now. We'll celebrate the 6th and 7th pounds over the next couple weeks.
If I put 1-2 it doesn't motivate me. I normally weigh weekly which gives a fairer idea of where I'm at without the daily fluctuations - hence the sigh. I've lost about 8 already so where I'm at is not the issue, it's noting it daily is. This morning the scale read 235.... big sigh. Lol.
Thanks for the input as it's what this group is about- accountability, motivation and encouragement and I do appreciate it.3 -

8/22: 196.4 – Wahoo! Finally see a decent drop. Let’s keep this going.
8/23: 196 & 195.6 – Weighed myself twice today, once when I got up and again about 30 mins later. I don’t know which one to record so I’m recording them both. Super sore today from Monday’s workout.
8/24: 195.6 - .7 pounds from my short term goal weight. Once I get there and keep it for a week, I’m rewarding myself with a fancy new workout outfit.
8/25: 195.8 – Not as exciting as a loss but not bad either.
8/26: 195.4 – Woo! Didn’t expect this as I had a carb/fat pigout last night. Spending 6 hours in the car today. Sure way for me to retain a little water. I’ll fit in some exercise somehow.
8/27: 194.6 – Wow! I hit my short term goal! So happy! Now I want to keep it and then on to my next goal of 185. I haven’t weighed in the 180’s for 8 years (my 30’s) so that would be amazing. Well, now that I think about it I can’t remember the last time I was under 195.
8/28: 193.4 – Oh how I wish this was real. I’ll just expect to go back up hopefully just a little though.

8/21 - 162.4 - I knew a 1.1 lb loss overnight wasn't going to stick but still generally going the right direction.
8/22 - 162.2 - Slow and steady...all good.
8/23 - 162 - no exercise the last two days but have been under calories. Can't say I've made the best nutritional choices though. Will do better today.
8/24 - 161.6 - got some good exercise in, lots of water, and stayed at calories. Progress showing up on the scale!
8/25 - 161.6 - did well with calorie intake yesterday but no time for exercise. Lots of exercise coming up today though!

8/21 - 202.8 - after a weekend, I'll take it. Back to eating on point, no alcohol and a LOT of water.
8/22 - 202.2 - went slightly over calories yesterday. Drank over 100 oz water. It's slow but the process is working.
8/23 - 200.8 - WHAT?! I had to step on the scale 3 times to register this. I'm sure I'll post a gain tomorrow but still psyched to see this number.
8/24 - 200.4 - honestly surprised I've maintained in this area for another day. ONEderland is so close!!
8/25 - 200.6 - still surprised I'm maintaining around here again. Thought for sure I would see a small gain. Maybe all the water I'm drinking (200 oz a day) is helping?!
8/26 - 200.8 - I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed that I haven't hit ONEderland yet. It's toying with me! Heading out for a bike ride today. Should probably revise my goal for this round.
8/27 - 200.6 - UGH. Rode my bike 10 miles yesterday. But I did gorge myself at dinner. Even though I stayed within calories it wasn't a healthy choice. Maybe tomorrow I'll hit ONEderland.
8/28 - 199.8 - wahoooo!!!! ONEderland it's so nice to see you! I'm sure I'll bump up again before I really settle here but it's still nice to see that number. Went for an 11 mile bike ride yesterday. #hardworkispayingoff

Back on track I hope! My IBS-C is not flaring up today So I can actually see some progress. The past couple of days it's been off. I am still learning my trigger foods but I've gotten better. I started by eating very little for a few days then adding one or basic meals in at a time (until I splurged on the s&s shrimp). I'm learning a lot that way.

So my big goal is to come in under calorie count today. Every time I get to the 130 range I splurge and then overdo it because, "hey I'm close enough to where I want to be." Not this time.

I got on and off the scale like 5 times just to be sure this was right. I am in shock! I haven't been in the 120s since high school!

Must be a fluke or water weight. Came in under calorie count and everything last night. Oh well.

At least it's going down. Last night I drank a coke but I attempted to neutralize it as much as possible by drinking 2 extra glasses of water. Soda makes me so bloated.

Sweet. I've been a little discouraged (that's really not the right word, because I don't want to quit, I'm just upset) by the loose skin that I'm seeing on my lower abdomen. I don't feel like I've lost enough weight to have loose skin although I would say about 95% of it has come from my stomach and hips, because I'm pear shaped, among other reasons, according to my doctor. My best friend is the same size and weight as I am and her body is not loose like mine from having a baby, trying not to do comparisons as I know we are all different and have different body shapes and sizes.

P.S. @rosetigger I always tell people who are thinking about giving up drinking to go for it! If it is affecting your weight you are doing it too much. I quit and the pounds started falling off. Same thing with soda and coffee (because I can't drink it without loads of sugar and creamer).6
