My favorite version of this is:
¼ c Fage 0% Plain Greek Yogurt
¼ c Skim Milk
¼ c Quaker Oats – Old Fashioned
1 ½ t Chia Seeds
3 sliced almonds
½ t Pure Vanilla Extract
¼ fresh mango
(put in sealed individual sized containers and refrigerate)
219 calories, 32 carbs, 6 fat, 13 protein, 53 sodium, 12 sugar
I usually make 4 separate containers at one time & eat one each morning for breakfast. I love it!0 -
ok, I might try w/out the chia... I really did like the taste but not the texture. Maybe a bit less almond milk I wonder or more oats

that "slime" thing happening is probably from the chia

I tried the following recipe, for the first time, last night. I will definitely make it again except I will try cooking it for 5 hrs. since the oats were a bit mushy and I like them with a bit more bite. I will also try it without the butter.
1 cup uncooked steel-cut oats
2 apples - peeled, cored, cut into 1/2" pcs. (2 1/2 - 3 cups)
1 1/2 cup fat-free milk (or almond milk)
1 1/2 cup water
2 tbl brown sugar
1 1/2 tbl butter, cut into 5-6 pcs (optional)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup raisins (or more to your liking)
Coat inside of 3 1/2 quart (or larger) crock pot with cooking spray.
Add all ingredients.
Stir, cover, and cook on low for approx. 7 hrs. (cooker times may vary).
Add fruit and/or nuts if you wish.
Store leftovers in refrigerator. Freezes well.
*I used an old, 200 watt, crock pot.0 -
Just made some.
This was for a mug-full.0 -

If you're in the UK - try the Scotts Porridge Oats - they are quick cook so easily digested uncooked. The recommended daily portion of oats is 40grams.
This morning I had blueberries, oats, soy yogurt & agave nectar (less than 200kcal) and its lunchtime now and not staving!0 -

I had this the other morning, made it with the oats and greek yoghurt and a bit of honey. Then added some banana just before eating. But it was AWFUL!! lol It was so sticky and claggy I couldn't finish it. Would maybe adding some milk stop this? Or mix in some milk just before eating? I can see I'm in the minority so it must be good!!0
