Observations, and Previous RoundsMany events along the way will scupper our best intentions, but they merely delay the achievement of our goals. Life is for living, and one must learn patience. It takes many years to put on excess weight, so It follows that it takes much time to remove, but it is coming off, bit by stubborn bit! Stick with it! The game continues!Round 16: (Target: 160) Highest, 162.4; lowest, 160.2; Mean, 161.3 It's slow, but I am very happy with the downward trend.
A lot of people get upset by apparent weight gain when they have been working their butts off. Body weight fluctuates, both up, and down, from one day to the next depending on so many factors. From my experience:- Changes often take several days to show on the scale.
- A drop is often followed by a bounce up before it settles back down. A general downward trend is the aim.
- A high sodium day usually results in a gain due to water retention, unless you drink extra fluids to flush it out.
If you are making positive lifestyle changes it will lead to increased health and fitness.
Slow and steady leads to sustainable weight loss.
But remember to live a little along the way!

9/26 155.8 - ok this is where daily weighing is so valuable. Without it, I'd creep up at this point. Because of it I am aware of what's happening as I become too relaxed with my eating. Goal is 155 end of this round.
9/27 155.6. - ok so back to Monday.. overall 1 down from beginning of round. It's true, if you only kind of do the plan you only kind of loose weight...
9/28 155 - that's right! Had a great workout yesterday. Kind of struggling with late night snacking though....want to hold this number through the weekend.
9/29 - 154.8 - so happy about this number! I haven't been under 155 in at least a year. NOW working to stay there over the weekend.

Start weight for round 17 - 161.7
Up 0.2 from yesterday but overall down 0.3 from last round. I so badly want to break back out of the 160's - I am so unhappy that they are my new normal. I want to see 159.9 or anything below it, as soon as possible. Here we go for this round:
9/20 161.7 - no exercise yesterday because I got out of work 1.5 hours late due to a meeting, then having to finish some paperwork at home (gotta love teaching)
9/21 162.8 UGH. Salty skillet pack for dinner so I hope that's the problem
9/22 161.7 - less snacking at work and less food at night - or it could just be the salt leaving from 2 salty meals. Still no during the week exercise...sign
9/23 I truly forgot to track - I weighed in but don't remember!!
9/24 162.0 - my family had a surprise 30th birthday for me on Saturday so not too bad!!
9/25 161.8 - moving the right way despite more cake since Sunday was my real birthday and TOM all weekend
9/26 162.8 - my friend made me ice cream cake for work yesterday so I had to have some - plus a salty dinner - anyone else bounce between the same weights? It's never 162.7 or 162.9, always 162.8, 162.0, 161.8 etc...

20/9 - 224.2 so happy to see this # again. Now I know it wasn't a fluke yesterday. :
21/9 - 223.8 strange. I got on the scale and it said 224.2. My SO got on after me (who by the way eats everything and his weight has not moved on 5 years - 165) so I know the scale isn't broken. I got back on and it moved lower to the same spot after 3 more attempts. Should I let him weigh before me everyday I wonder Be blessed and positive today everyone.
22/9 - 222.4 didn't eat properly yesterday and very hungry now.
23/9 - 223.4 more irregular eating. Trinidad doubles and pie.... still not right or on time. Water not on point either. Yesterday my attitude was -

9/21 - 157.8 - woohoo! Out of the 158s! My trainer gave me food plan that is the same amount of calories as suggested by mfp (I've been cutting that by 200-400 calories a day....duh...I know better) and water intake (a gallon a day). I listened and followed instructions yesterday and ta da! He committed that I'd get my dang boobs in that dang wedding dress if I followed the plan and I'm committed. It's on!

I know losing 10 pounds in 10 days was a bit of a stretch, but losing 5 pounds feels great. I’m optimistic about coming rounds because I’ve seen that I can do it.

9/21 - 189.4 I'm terribly frustrated.. I know this has to do with not taking a water pill anymore but 18 days at or around the same weight and never being over on calories is pretty frustrating. I'm looking at my second consecutive Friday with a gain tomorrow and I just want to crawl into a hole somewhere. Rant over.
9/22 - 189 - Attitude adjustment day. If I fail at something I truly attempted, it's still a success. I'm just going to have to do it a few more times.

9/28 - 189.6 Just blaming this entire month on the stopping the water pill. I read that taking a diuretic eliminates an average of 3 pounds of water weight. 30 days later I'm one pound below what I was when the doctor took me off the pill. Since I've been on point most of this month and when I was over I didn't go over maintenance, I think I lost fat and gained back that water... that's my story, I'm sticking to it!

This is where I was about a year ago when I started on my, "GREAT EATING CAMPAIGN"! When I came to my senses, I weighed 242 lbs. Hope when I leave this number, I never see it or above it again! My body is the temple of God's spirit; it's time I treated it like it!

This is the result of another church function! Had an appreciation dinner after church - pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, chips, cake, cookies! Drank water and didn't eat any bread, but went home and ate green beans with potatoes seasoned with salt pork! Went waaaay over on calories and salt! I've got 4 days to get this right!

Still holding on to water weight from my sodium overload! Too much salt is not good for my blood pressure or my heart. Didn't drink much water yesterday; just didn't feel like drinking anything, but I forced myself to drink about six glasses!

Got rid of all of the water weight from Sunday ; now, for the rest of the story! Didn't sleep at all last night; could be because of the iced coffee I drank around 4 o'clock! Didn't go to exercise this morning or to BSF because I didn't sleep, and I felt awful! Got to stay hydrated today, and watch the sodium! Maybe I'll talk myself into doing one of my walking dvds-I've only used it once, and I've had it over five months! Tomorrow I've got another small group meeting at a restaurant! Shallid, they say the water weight gain and bloat is highest the day your period starts. You should come and check in with us just to record what actually happens in your cycle. I do understand though. Be well.

Instead of letting it depress you...use it as data to understand that weight fluctuates not just because of your activity level or calories consumed. Trust and stick to the process and use the whoosh when TOM leaves to motivate you.5 -

So I didn't reach my round goal...in fact I actually gained a pound this round, but what I can honestly say is despite the small gain, I have still lost a good bit in these past four months and thanks to weighing in everyday I have learned to stay accountable and that is the most important thing I have learned about doing these challenges. Some weeks or months are not going to be much of a loss if any, but not letting it get out of hand and staying the course no matter how frustrating or hard it may be, is what this journey is all about.
I have three more months left in this year to whip the hell out of my fitness and nutrition goals into shape and I plan to get there starting today!8 -

SW - March 2017 - 182.4lbs
GW - 145 - it was 150 initially but I smashed that last week and I don't feel like I'm done. I'm happy with where I am but I've got some pooch left and I think having a maintenance range of 145-149 would be ideal...so I'm going to slowly chip away at the last few pounds and work on my fitness.

9/24 - 148.6 - We're having a crazy early autumn heat wave so Corona's on the porch were in order yesterday...and then wine with dinner, and after...so this is an alcohol induced gain. Lots of water as we enjoy another hot humid September day today.

I'm feeling puffy from the heat, and didn't get out for my regular run with the dog yesterday because it was afternoon by the time we got back from the boys hockey and both the dog and I would have melted into a puddle in the woods had we attempted it. I don't think we're supposed to get a break from this until Wednesday
9/26 - 149.0 - Expecting TOM sometime this week so this is heat and hormones
9/27 - 148.6 - back here again. TOM cravings...but not TOM yet (stupid Perimnopause...so unpredictable). Wanted peanut butter so bad yesterday, 2 jars in the cupboard, the brand new full one and the one with the last little bit...I actually took the one with the last little bit instead of going to town on the new one with a spoon...AND I weighed it before and after I cleaned it out so it was only 24g...kind of proud of myself

9/29 - 148.4 - ending a round during TOM's visit never shows actual progress. I've stuck to what I need to do for the most part this week (a couple of hungry days where I ate around maintenance calories, but that's ok because I'm close to goal and need to slow things down a bit) so I know in a few days I'll see what I actually achieved this week.

29/9 - 195.2 - yay I finished under 14 stone ... next 10 days is to male my avg weight under 14 stone ... currently my average for this round is 196.3 .. so .. 0.4lbs to lose

Back again!I started midway through Round 2 at 153.9 on 4/29. Ended Round 16 at 141. I'm at roughly .5 a week loss. For this round I'd like to hit the 140's and stay in the 40's or below .

9/20 140.6 Very pleased with this dip. Went to gym yesterday and also aqua arthritis. Happy start to a new 10 day round to all.
9/21 141.4 Over on salt and carbs... It'll go away ...No formal exercise yesterday, just cleaning, cooking (on feet a lot) and chasing 2 yr old around. Today, ellip or sumthin. Happy Thursday.
9/22 141.6 Did therapy at gym and pool exercise class. Ate clean and below on cals and carbs. Gotta be water weight. Come on, 140's, I'm waitin' for you. Another pool class today.
9/23 141.4 Another pool class. Slept late. Need to take a day of rest. Happy weekend, all!
9/24 142.4 rested and ate all kinds of things. Was worth it. Had a delightful day off from everything.
9/25 142... Come on, already. Give me a number in the 140's. Halfway through, better get super serious. I've gotten lax.
9/26 141.4 Going down again, finally. Did an hour on ellip yesterday. My goals for today: 1 hr ellip, gym-therapy/strength training if possible, eat clean. No processed food.
9/27 141 .. Yes, keep going in that direction. No exercise yesterday but deep cleaning family room, moving furniture, etc. Stayed below on macros, calories and carbs. Today ellip, I hope. Full time watching a 2 year old really puts a crimp on my gym time.
9/28 140.6 Doin' ma happy dance. 75 min on ellip and stayed below on macros. Ate clean and well. Aiming for another 75 today.
9/29 140!!! 'Give the girl a kewpie doll!' Hit goal this go round. Did 65 on ellip yesterday and ate clean. I always allow for a glass of red wine in the evening as it is my treat for the day. Now to get below this number in the next round.
I believe in my ability to lose weight and keep it off.9 -
I'm in again! Keeping my goal for this round on the lower side. I've been having some medical issues that have been keeping me from the gym, but for the most part I've been staying under my calorie goal.

9/20 - 223.8 - still moving in the right direction; finally got to the gym last night; hoping to be as consistent as possible with that over these 10 days as I've been taking a lot of breaks for various reasons beyond my control (and it was HARD last night)
9/21- 224.6 - not surprised. Yesterday was my birthday and we had a big sushi dinner and I had an extra piece of cake. Plus I only ran two miles instead of three as my birthday present to myself. SO got me a ukulele which I am THRILLED about! Lots of water today to counteract the sodium from the sushi/soy sauce.
9/22 - 224.6 - holding steady. Can't seem to bring myself back up to 3 miles. Feeling a little down. Water wasn't great yesterday but going to try to do better today.
9/23 - 223.4 - I like it but I don't know that I trust it. We'll see.
9/24 - 224.4 - I've been taking a break this weekend. Just mentally overwhelmed and practicing some self care. So this isn't surprising. Hopefully back at it tomorrow.
9/25 - 224.0 - Weekend break didn't do too much damage. Back in the game today. I feel refreshed.
9/26 - 224.2 - I really need to get back on the ball with exercise. Food was in line yesterday though.
9/27 - 224.4 - Ugh. I need to get this under control. I'm a bit frustrated with the last several days.
9/28 - 223.2 - That's more like it.
9/29 - couldn't weigh in this morning. Our hot water heater was leaking all over the place so I had to deal with that, run to a friends to shower, and get to work. I'm in for next round, so we'll see what happens.

9/22 - 219.9 - Haven't seen this number in a long time and I am cautiously optimistic. I know it will flex again but certainly a nice direction.

9/27 - 219.5 - Feeling really run down and discouraged this past round - enough even for me not to weigh in or log a single thing. I don't feel much better today but this too shall pass.
9/28 - 217 - Not sure what is happening but I did get off the scale and back on again just to make sure I was not having a crazy moment. Thanks for all the support, I know we all have our days so I know I'm not alone. Would love to end this round steady at this number but I feel like I am having deja vu from last round. 24 hours, just give me 24 hours! Make good choices woman!
9/29 - 216.8 - Wahooo! This has been a very rocky and unbelievable round for me. Tomorrow is my birthday celebration with friends so hoping between the apps, dinner and wine not to steer too far off. It's been a long time since I've had consistent (well, only three days but hey...) numbers below 220 and I can't lose that. I will indulge a little but carefully...

9/21 - 184.5 - Just starting TOM and have been eating like crap! I have to go grocery shopping so I have better food to eat and I also need to plan my meals better.
9/22 - 184 - I'm surprised since i still feel heavy. Lots of water today and eating good. Hopefully the scale will show more water loss tomorrow!

9/24 - 186.6 - Anniversary weekend so I didn't watch what I was eating at all. I ended up super sick to my stomach from all the food I ate that my body wasn't used to!
9/25 - 186 - I'm getting back on track today!
9/26 - 184.6 - I ate much better yesterday but didn't drink as much water as I should have.
9/27 - 184 - midnight snack last night of TWO pb&j sandwiches! Not good but I'm going to try to get my snacking under control today!
