20/9 - 224.2 so happy to see this # again. Now I know it wasn't a fluke yesterday. :
21/9 - 223.8 strange. I got on the scale and it said 224.2. My SO got on after me (who by the way eats everything and his weight has not moved on 5 years - 165) so I know the scale isn't broken. I got back on and it moved lower to the same spot after 3 more attempts. Should I let him weigh before me everyday I wonder Be blessed and positive today everyone.

Just missed my last rounds goal. I learned that salt and bread do me in. Water ha my best friend along with sleep. Work needs to be taken less seriously. Lastly, I can do this!!
9/20 150.0
9/21 152.8 all of the things. It's a certain time for me. I slept SO well last night. For the first time in a long time. I'll spend all day in the sun at the farm and get some great meals in. I fully expect to drop all of the water weight and be back on track! Gosh, I forgot what it feels like to be rested!!

Thanks for the help!
Here's what I do:
Write your post in someplace else and save it. Mine is a google doc.
Each morning, I go in and add today's statement to my doc.
Then I open MFP and read/respond to others' challenge messages.
When I get to the end, I copy/paste the newly revised form of my doc.
The app for me normally opens on my last post. I would select the quote icon. Remove the quote notations in the post, add/edit new info and select post. Then I read previous comments. When I come out it saves to my last post so I don't have to search. If I do go back in I try to remember the time of day I posted to make it easier to locate.5 -

Glass half empty version:
You could be old as dirt like me and watching your double chin turn into wattles, the veins sticking up on the back of your hands, the cellulite formerly hidden by fat now showing as your thigh skin starts to dangle over your knees and your nice round upper arms develop bat wings. When I have lost all I intend to lose, people will stop saying how young I look for my age. They'll give me my senior discount without looking at me funny.
Glass half full version:
I'm already noticing it's a lot easier to do things like step into and out of the tub. I can clip my toe nails without getting out of breath. I can start wearing rings that have been a little too tight. I have an excuse to spend money on new clothes. I can lord my weight loss over hubby. I may live long enough to outlive our money!
I choose glass half full!!

ROUND 17 - My Round 4
Start weight for round 17 - 161.7
Up 0.2 from yesterday but overall down 0.3 from last round. I so badly want to break back out of the 160's - I am so unhappy that they are my new normal. I want to see 159.9 or anything below it, as soon as possible. Here we go for this round:
9/20 161.7 - no exercise yesterday because I got out of work 1.5 hours late due to a meeting, then having to finish some paperwork at home (gotta love teaching)
9/21 162.8 UGH. Salty skillet pack for dinner so I hope that's the problem

Don't feel discouraged. Sometimes, losing the weight takes awhile, and then it just falls off all at once. I've been bouncing around the same pound for two weeks now. It'll come off...just keep pushing.6 -
Round 17
RD14 start 252.6 End 252.8
RD15 start 252.8 End 254.2
RD16 start 257.0 End 256.4
Goal this round -2.5 lbs.
9/20 255.0 I have a Dr. appt in about a month and hope to lose -5lbs, this round will be my kick start. I need to watch my carb intake, salt, sugar, and average 8000 steps per day.
9/21 254.6 My eating wasn't great, to many carbs, but 8700 steps helped I'm sure. Planning a good all around day.

I'm back! I've been a part of this group for so long now that posting is just an automatic response because it's truly a part of my daily routine. I'm so appreciative of all the support and encouragement along my journey. I am starting this Round down 4 oz from my last round. If I could just get to 174 this Round, I'd be happy.

09/20: 174.6 So, Mom is getting released from rehab on Saturday. I fell off a table at work yesterday because I was hanging up some anchor charts and landed on a concrete floor. I know, I should have used a stool. I was pretty sore yesterday, but I am better today except for my finger. I jammed it when trying to catch myself.
09/21: 174.4 This is the 4th time I've seen this number. I have yet to get any lower than this or to have my BIG WHOOSH! It's been 2 weeks. It's only a matter of time, right?! The tortoise beat the hare.

Goal: Log all my food each day. I tend to get lazy in the evenings and on the weekends.
9/20 - 264.2 - down .6 from yesterday despite the fact that I ate terribly last night and didn't exercise. I was stressed about my child's school work/preparing for picture day (today) and an interview that I have today at work (still pretty stressed about that!). Staying positive though, going to make better choices today
9/21 - 262.2 - I was emotionally and mentally exhausted after my interview yesterday, so I didn't eat well at night. But, I did make myself take a 15 minute walk last night. Unfortunately, I've got some foot pain that I'm pretty sure is caused by a bone spur on the top of my foot (so I'll be calling a podiatrist this week), so 15 minutes was all that I could handle. But I'm happy with the results

9/20 - 188.8 hello again..
9/21 - 189.4 I'm terribly frustrated.. I know this has to do with not taking a water pill anymore but 18 days at or around the same weight and never being over on calories is pretty frustrating. I'm looking at my second consecutive Friday with a gain tomorrow and I just want to crawl into a hole somewhere. Rant over.

Was wondering about carbs and water retention. This from LiveStrong: When you consume carbohydrates, your body converts them to glycogen, which is then stored in the muscles for energy. For every gram of glycogen stored, you gain approximately 2.7 grams of water. This water retention occurs because your kidneys hold on to sodium in response to carbohydrate consumption. So carbs cause sodium retention which causes water retention.
I am a goddess and treat myself as one.7 -
@LauraInTheWater I'm pretty sure snot is water weight, lol. Hope you feel better soon.
@eyer0ll When I look in the mirror I still see a fat person, sometimes it takes a long time to mentally process the change. I also had no one notice that I lost weight and then at 40 pounds someone asked me what my secret was. I told her that no one has noticed I lost weight and she couldn't believe it. It was only later that my boss said she doesn't like to comment about weight loss because it could send a message that you were imperfect before. Also, if you aren't in the same clothes and at the same distance from the camera it can look like you are the same size, especially if you are and all over loser. Be good to yourself.

I came down with a nasty sinus infection night before last. I always lose weight when I am sick (see R15 average weight above). I have been drinking a ton of water and expelled at least a pound of snot. Plus, no appetite, but I'm trying anyway. Hopefully something good will come of this and I won't gain all the weight back. But it's always doubtful with such an extreme loss, which is why I'm trying not to lose so much. -_-

9/20 - 223.8 - still moving in the right direction; finally got to the gym last night; hoping to be as consistent as possible with that over these 10 days as I've been taking a lot of breaks for various reasons beyond my control (and it was HARD last night)
9/21- 224.6 - not surprised. Yesterday was my birthday and we had a big sushi dinner and I had an extra piece of cake. Plus I only ran two miles instead of three as my birthday present to myself. SO got me a ukulele which I am THRILLED about! Lots of water today to counteract the sodium from the sushi/soy sauce.
